The Asian department's musical instrument collection of the Náprstek Museum of Prague from an ethnoorganological point of view
Friedl, Marián ; Havlík, Jaromír (referee) ; Matoušek, Vlastislav (advisor)
My theses The Asian department's musical instrument collection of the Náprstek Museum of Prague167 from an ethnoorganological point of view deal with several topics in seven parts: 1. The first part describes the evolution of the ethnomusicological thinking and also the thinking about musical instruments and classification in organology. This part is also aimed to reveal the interrelations between cultural anthropology, ethnomusicology, ethnoorganology and classificatory organology. 2. A specific classification based on Hornbostel-Sachs systematik is shown and explained here as a basis for one part of musical instrument's description in the Náprstek Museum's computer database. 3. How to work with the museum's computer software, how the describing terms from part 2 are used in the database and how they can help us while working with instruments, these topics are included here. 4. In part four we can find numerical and graphical evaluation of the content of collection based on work with the museum's computer software and the describing system devised for this purpose. 5. This part offers basic organographical description of the musical instruments formerly long-lastingly exhibited. (Since 2001 floods whole collection unapproachable.) 6. The Chinese instrumental ensemble and genre Jiangnan sizhu is depicted...

Raman spectroscopy - creation and application of spectral database
Průchová, Kristýna ; Šmejkal, Petr (referee) ; Němec, Ivan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with creation of user Raman spectra database and mapping of the availability of comercial and freely accesible Raman libraries. To measure the spectra of the user database FT-Raman spectroscopy was used and also was used the possibility to download spectra freely available on the website of the Sigma-Aldrich company. Created database contains the Raman spectra of 160 organic and inorganic substances. The database was then tested on three samples of different types of analgesics-antipyretics. It was the determination of the composition of Anopyrin from Zentiva, Bayer Aspirin and Paralen Plus from Zentiva. The optimal search setup was discussed on the basis of the results.

Data consistence in shared environment
Vitásek, Matej ; Spousta, Miroslav (referee) ; Pergel, Martin (advisor)
The focus of this work lies on two problems emerging in systems allowing concurrent access of multiple users to shared data. Small amounts of data have to be locked to ensure serial access, synchronization of bigger volumes requires a versioning mechanism. Firstly, a way of implementing shared data locking using the means of RDBMS is proposed. Secondly, a synchronization mechanism is demonstrated, which allows a part of data to be managed "off-line" and seamlessly synchronized back to the database. An implementation of both algorithms is demonstrated on a multi-tier budgeting application.

Analysis of animal mitochondrial genes for DNA barcoding
Brabencová, Klára ; Škutková, Helena (referee) ; Maděránková, Denisa (advisor)
The aim of this work is a literature review on the topic of the mitochondrial genome and DNA barcoding, building a dataset of mitochondrial sequences from GenBank database and creatione of a software function for extraction of individual genes that are present in the mitochondrial genome. This function was developed in Matlab. DNA barcoding is a method that uses short DNA sequence of mitochondrial genome for identification of species. There is no comprehensive work examining the appropriateness of different mitochondrial genes. This aim investigates the potential of other mitochondrial genes and evaluate their effectiveness for DNA barcoding and calculation of intra-and interspecific variability.

Modular Document Supply System
Digitalizační pracoviště dokument zdigitalizuje a uloží do souboru .pdf a předá zpět do databáze.

Representing XML data by C-store
Částková, Zuzana ; Holubová, Irena (referee) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor)
C-store environment - relational database storing records on the disk by columns. Suitable for aggregations, optimalized for reading. Can it be effectively used as XML database? This thesis considers XML data with and without a schema. Database model is generated from a XML file for both cases. A measure of the model suitability is the possibility of making quick XPath queries. Ancestor, child, younger sibling - these are just some of the discussed XPath axes. Low level system enabling the estimation of number of jumps needed on drive is characteristic for algorithms for each axis. Result? Schema for XML data does not seem useful. Regarding the data without a schema, the use of C-store seems to be optimal. But ... Addition of certain functionality to the system would also be appropriate here - direct access to elements, possibility of not reading the whole column. The thesis extends the definition of C-store with these principles, and adds experiments with real data. The conclusion provides an example implementation of selected algorithms that might be used as guidance for further implementation.

The criminal personality profiling
Bartoš, Jaromír ; Ventura, Václav (referee) ; Luptáková, Marina (advisor)
In this diploma thesis I deal with the criminal personality profiling of criminal acts. I have tried to summarise this subject in an integral form and have emphasised forensic psychological use in practice. A kernel of an entire methodology may be sought in some of the scientific disciplines, especially in psychology, psychiatry, sociology, and demography among others. This methodology arises from human behaviour and, thus, cannot emerge as an exact science. I describe the process of the compilation of a profile and, in some places, I recap the repeated symbols of the criminal acts and, specifically, I characterise a perpetrator of diverse criminal activities. My goal is to draw this theme to the attention of otherwise uninterested people, to stress the interconnection and the possibility of its use in criminal practice and to mention further associated methodologies such as computer databases and geographical profiling. Offender profiling is undergoing rapid development and is subject to constant new developments from specialized investigators.

Internal and external factors influencing the cost of equity capital
Mokhova, Natalia ; Kožená, Marcela (referee) ; Živělová, Iva (referee) ; Lace, Natalja (referee) ; Zinecker, Marek (advisor)
Náklady vlastního kapitálu, jež jsou ovlivňovány řadou interních a externích činitelů, významným faktorem ovlivňujícím rozhodovací procesy v podnikové sféře. Navrhovaná metodika řízení nákladů vlastního kapitálu je určená k použití v podnikové praxi a lze předpokládat její další rozvíjení v rámci navazujících výzkumných aktivit.
