Motion activity and adult personality structure with focus to women.

This bachelor thesis deals with the physical activity and personality of adult women of the age 20-60 years. Sixty-eight randomly selected women participated in this research. The research tools consisted of a Pedometer Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 and NEO, five-factor personality model. The data collected were analyzed using the unpaired and paired two-sample t-tests. The physical activity measurements were conducted in spring and autumn. With the pre-set hypotheses in mind, it has been concluded that there is no statistically significant correlation between the personality feature of extroversion and a higher level of physical activity. Furthermore, the average physical activity was not higher at weekends, compared to weekdays.

Association between the personality of the owner and the behavioral profile of their cat

Previous studies have shown that we can measure personality not only of humans but of animals as well including domestic cats (Felis catus). Results of studies have also shown that personality of the domestic cat might be influenced by various factors e.g. age, gender or breed of the cat. Although only a few studies were focused on association between owner personality and behavioral profile of their cat. The aim of our study was to explore association between the personality of the owners and the behavioral profile of their cats assessed by their owners. We used correlations for analysing data. The sample included 404 respondents (women), who filled in a Czech translation of BFI-2 and a Czech translation of the Feline Five Questionnaire for their cats (the cat sample consists of 194 males and 210 females). Our results showed a set of correlations between personality factors of the owner and behavioral factors of her cat. The strongest positive correlation was measured between consciousness of the owner and extraversion of her cat. One possible explanation of these associations is based on the Similarity-Attraction Hypothesis, which means that the owner chooses an animal that is similar to her in various characteristics. Evaluation of Job Applicants Using Neuroscience

This thesis deals with the possibility to evaluate cognitive and emotional traits and their relations to job positions and functions. The basis is to create a set of tests which could be used during a hiring procedure while deciding among candidates. It also suggests how to classify users based on a set of tests and thereby provide support in choosing the right job. The thesis gives a brief outlook of individually tested traits, describes a proposal of a web application and its implementation, describes implementation of neural network classifier and presents obtained results.

Influence of father and brother on mate choice of heterosexual women in personality traits

Mate preferences and choices might be influenced by several factors, including close relatives. According to the imprinting-like effect, people prefer and choose partners similar to those with whom they grew up during childhood. The main aim of our research was to test, whether individuals choose their long-term partners on the basis of similarity (in personality traits) with their parent and/or siblings of the opposite sex (father and/or brother). The final sample of the study consisted of 211 heterosexual women (mean age = 27.34, SD = 5.36) who grew up with their father until at least 12 years of age. Respondents completed a set of questionnaires aimed at personality of their partner, brother, and father (NEO-FFI), the relationship quality with their father/brother during childhood (s-EMBU/QRI), and relationship satisfaction (RAS). Correlation and regression analyses have shown that heterosexual women choose partners similar to their fathers and brothers, especially in neuroticism. However, when compared correlation coefficients, it was found that fathers play a more important role. Psychological aspects of headache

This thesis focuses on the psychological aspects of headaches from different perspectives which can affect patient's life. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. The first one is devoted to the characteristics of different types of headaches and serves as a theoretical-neurologic background for the following chapters focused on the psychological aspects as mentioned. Next chapters are a mainstay of the thesis that deal with the psychological aspects as possible symptoms of headaches; accompanying psychological phenomenas which patient may face while having a pain attack and also psychological consequences of this health problem. The last chapter is dedicated to the co-morbidity of psychiatric disorders with migraine. In the empirical part a research project exploring the correlation of personality traits and headaches is presented. Creativity in visual arts

Motivation seems to be one of the important variables which might have an effect on creativity. It can have a positive but also a negative impact on creativity. In this thesis motivations of fine artists are examined and the extent to which art might effect personality profile of fine artists is considered. In theoretical part, firstly, art, forms of art and the psychology of art are defined. Further artwork as a product of artistic process, structure of personality and specifically the personality of fine artists are described. A complexity of creativity as a phenomenon is presented. Finally motivation from the social psychology of creativity point of view is explained. The aim of this master thesis is to examine certain psychosocial personality traits of fine artists by the Achievement Motivation Inventory LMI and discovered whether there are significant differences in personality traits of fine artists and control group of "non-artists" interested in economy and business (n=63). Our results support the foreign studies results and indicate that artists score significantly higher in Flow, Pride in Productivity and Independence. Will-traits and self-education of students

The bachelor thesis deals with volition, will traits and self-education of students. Volition is understood as a synthetic function of personality, evolutionary highest function of self-regulation and a limited cognitive source. Will traits are considered an outer manifestation of will, self-education (especially its Czech equivalent) is considered an outdated term that is being replaced by similar topics of research such as procrastination. Several philosophical and psychological concepts of will and self-regulation are outlined. Author concieves much of them similar, suggesting emotional, impulsive system (thymos, id, hot system) is usually put opposite to a rational system (logos, ego, cool system). Succesful self-regulation is therefore based on an ability to master the emomotional, hot system. Another part of the paper deals specifically with self-education and variables that are affecting it (individual traits, motives, time and stress, role of a teacher and group). Several methods of self-education are described: self-discovery, formulation of educational goals, precommitment, implementation intention, creating of a habit, reaching flow. Analysis of current views of mutism in specialized Czech and foreign literature

This diploma thesis deals with mutism from the perspective of specialized czech and foreign literature. The character of the thesis is theoretical and the thesis is divided into three parts. In the first chapter, there is mutism described based on the study of czech specialized literature as well as etiology, symptoms, diagnostics and treatment. The second chapter describes the same categories but based on the study of foreign literature. The last part is dedicated to the analysis and comparison of acquired knowledge in particular areas. The most signifiant differences can be found in the area of diagnostics and therapy of mutisms, which are more elaborated in foreign literature than in Czech literature. Some differences appear in all other areas of mutism. The learning theory is the characteristic feature of foreign literature in the field of etiology of mutism, also the social enxiety is the characteric feature in the area of symptoms and treatment; overall we can see a dominant influence of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The Czech literature provides a number of different views not only on the definition of mutism, but also on the etiology and symptomatology. The diagnostics and the therapy of mutism is not further elaborated in the Czech literature.

Professiogram as the basis for further training of social workers in low-treshold contact centers for drug addicts

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to develop professiogram as the basis for further training of social workers in low- threshold centers for drug addicts. Bachelor thesis maps the workload of social workers in low threshold centers for drug addicts, in especially ordinary activities, their frequency, level of stress, challenging situations, their frequency. Find out what requirements are imposed on a worker within the meaning of mental and physical endurance, what the demands placed on teamwork, cooperation with other organizations, qualification and knowledge successful completion of the profession, the need for support staff in the exercise of their profession and continuing education, etc. Based on the information is drawn professiogram social worker in the low threshold center for drug users. Interpersonal Check List as a Tool for Assessing Managerial Potential

The aim of this paper is to verify the applicability of Interpersonal Check List for assessing managerial potential, namely leadership potential. The findings of leadership research are summarized and applicability of Interpersonal Check List is theoretically discussed. Available methods for assessing leadership potential are presented, namely personality inventories and Assessment centre methods. Three data sources including 888 respondents in total are used for the analysis. Empirical tests show that employees in leadership positions score higher in several dimensions of Interpersonal Check List, particularly in managerial - autocratic, competitive - exploitive and blunt - aggresive dimensions. The discussion of these findings leads to the conclusion that the mentioned dimensions could be considered as indicators of leadership potential.
