Effect of an exhaust opening location on air quality in an apartment
Charvát, Tomáš ; Forman, Matěj (referee) ; Krejčí, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the influence of the location of exhaust outlets on the air quality. The study examines the performance of the hybrid ventilation system installed in an experimental house. The central point of this work is a numerical model of a bedroom with heat and carbon dioxide sources. The temperature, speed and concentration fields have been solved for, from which further quantities of thermal comfort PMV, PPD and DR were evaluated. Finally, the impact of changes in the quality of the microclimate using these quantities and in the energy efficiency ventilation is assessed.
Analysis of ventilation heat loss for different definitions of ventilation rates
Janírek, Martin Stanislav ; Košner, Jan (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis analyses heat loss caused by ventilation for various volumes of ventilated air. Number of model cases were analyzed (class room, fit center, auditorium in the cinema and an apartment). Every scenario was analyzed with the heat recuperation and without it. Annual energetic balance and influence of heat recuperation was evaluated for every model case thereafter. Simulations of ventilation energy consumption were carried out in the TRNSYS 16 program.
Air quality in sports buildings
Fabian, Peter ; Horák,, Petr (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The work deals with indoor air quality and ventilation control based on indoor air quality. Based on the analysis of the concentration of CO2, heat and moisture gains can suggest the optimal way to reduce excessive ventilation
Demand controlled ventilation in buildings
Černík, Václav ; Kolbábek, Antonín (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with different methods of building’s ventilation control, especially with the focus on ventilation controlled by pollutant concentration. In the first part of the thesis, some concepts regarding ventilation and some pollutant’s description are given. In the second part, the most used pollutant detectors are mentioned. Next, various ventilation control strategies are explained, along with their advantages and disadvantages. In the last part, a real-life example of ventilation control is given.
Improving Indoor Air Quality of Libraries and Archives in Order to Significantly Reduce the Degradation of Library and Archival Materials
Součková, M. ; Vávrová, P. ; Novotný, J. ; Dřevíkovská, J. ; Paulusová, H. ; Bartl, B. ; Bartlová, L. ; Bacílková, B. ; Straka, R. ; Ďurovič, M. ; Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří
The aim of the preservation procedure is to improve the indoor air quality in libraries and archives in order to maximally slowed the degradation process of library and archival materials. After identification the degradation risks and determination the indoor air quality will be suggested means for improvement of the indoor air quality, which will limit the degradation of stored library and archive materials.
Methodology of Assessment of Load of Indoor Environment of Archives and Libraries by Dust Particles.
Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ondráček, Jakub
The aim of the methodology was development of evaluation methods for indoor air quality in archives and libraries. For this reason a simple passive sampler for dust deposition was developed. For detailed analyse a new aerosol spectrometer was constructed. These measurements should be completed by chemical analyse of particles and than the influence to materials can be estimated.\n

Methodology of Assessment of Load of Indoor Environment of Archives and Libraries by Dust Particles.
Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ondráček, Jakub
The aim of the methodology was development of evaluation methods for indoor air quality in archives and libraries, targeted at reduction of damages on library and archival collections caused by adverse effects of environment. For this reason a set of procedures and tools of advanced monitoring of the indoor air quality was developed. The purpose of this methodology was to evaluate load by dust particles, describe the relationship between the indoor and outdoor environments, and identify indoor sources of pollution.

The Methodology of Evaluation of Air Quality Effect on Library and Archival Collections
Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří ; Ondráček, Jakub ; Součková, M. ; Paulusová, H. ; Bartl, B. ; Benešová, M. ; Ďurovič, M.
The aim of the project was a development of evaluation method for indoor air quality in libraries and archives, targeted at reduction of damages on archival collections caused by adverse effects of environment. The project included indoor/outdoor monitoring of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants at four libraries and archives representing different outdoor environments: Zlatá Koruna (rural area), Třeboň (small town), Teplice (industrial area), and Prague (large city). The adverse effects of deteriorated environment were studied by comparison of identical incunabules from these locations. Parallel to field studies the deterioration of paper caused by deposited dust particles was studied at laboratory conditions. In addition different methods of mechanical cleaning of paper were tested. Based on the results precautions reducing the adverse effects of outdoor air pollution were developed.

The Evaluation Methods for Indoor Air Quality in Libraries
Mašková, Ludmila ; Smolík, Jiří
The aim of the project is a development of evaluation methods for indoor air quality in libraries and archives, targeted at reduction of damages on archival collections caused by adverse effects of environment. The project includes indoor/ outdoor monitoring of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter (PM) at 4 different archives: Zlatá Koruna, Třeboň, Osek, and Prague, representing different outdoor environments: rural, small town with seasonal tourism, industrial area, and large city with traffic. The adverse effects of deteriorated environment will be studied by comparison of identical copies of books from these locations. Parallel to field studies the deterioration of paper caused by deposited PM will be studied at laboratory conditions. The air exchange rate and transport of pollutants in the indoor environment will be also investigated at all locations leading to precautions reducing the adverse effects of outdoor air pollution.
