Physiological characteristics in young elite sport climbers
Přikrylová, Tereza ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Nováková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Physiological characteristics in young elite sport climbers Objectives: The aim of this work was to describe somatic and condition characteristics of young elite climbers. Methods: Seventeen young female and male climbers in the age of 13 to 19 years, with climbing ability on UIAA scale from 8th to 10th degree were participated in this study. We detected informations about age, climbing experience, volume of climbing training and actual climbing performance. Furthermore, we measured height, weight and body composition and we used the tests for measuring strength and flexibility characteristics. Results: Data of the strength and flexibility test were similar to previous studies. Result of relative grip strength was 0,75±0,04 for male and 0,68±0,08 for female. Result of the test bent-arm hang was 0,75±0,04 s for male and 0,68±0,08 s for female. Male climbers have shown very good endurance for finger hanging 78,2±13,8 s and female climbers have been still better 91,0±19,4 s. It has not confirmed any relationship between strength tests and the climbing ability(r = - 0,23) in RP and (r = -0,30) in OS. But it has found hight relationship between flexibility test - foot-loading and the climbing ability in RP (r = 0,80) and in OS (r = 0,78). Conclusions: In this study, we found that young climbers...

Váňová, Monika ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The bussines plan for building a climbing centre in Velim Objectives: The main objective of the Bachelor thesis is to make a bussines plan for building a climbing center in Velim. The theoretical part will summarize and describe the theoretical basis for the practical part. In the practical part, I will first determine profitability from an entrepreneurial perspective in terms of costs and anticipated revenues. The first partial objective is to create individual analysis, especially analysis of competition, whereas the second partial objective is implementation of the project into the non-profit sector. Part of this objective will be the creation of a climbing club. Methods: For the theoretical analysis of the work, descriprive analysis of all sources was used. For the practical part, I used descriptive analysis of basic concepts as well as SWOT, PEST and competition analysis. It was necessary to find a suitable location and create a business plan. I also contacted the owners of some clombing centres to learn more about fundings they received, their legal forms of the business, and average visitor traffic. Results: The results will be usefull for the possible realisation of the climbing centre, be it by me or someone else. According to calculations in chapter 7, I found the wall to be...

The thesis is composed of five chapters dealing with mutual relationship between sports and environmental protection, general definition of law of specially protected areas of the Czech Republic with a focus on protection tools and sports and tourism activities. Last two chapters are devoted to the pursuit of climbing in the Protected Landscape Area Jizerské hory and the National Park České Švýcarsko. The aim of the thesis is to summarize and to assess the existing legal regulation and to identify of problematic issues. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The use of MOXY monitor to assess finger flexor oxygenation during exhaustive climbing
Zaťková, Alžbeta ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Gajdošík, Jan (referee)
Title: Use of MOXY monitor for evaluation of oxygenation of finger flexors during incremental climbing load. Objectives: The aim of the work was to assess the dynamics of muscle oxygenation using MOXI monitor and Portamon during incremetal climbing load Methods: The test involved 19 individuals (14 male (M) and 5 female (F), age 29,5 ± 8,5 (years) M, 26,5 ± 5,7 (years) F, weight 70,2 ± 7,9 (kg) M and 58,1 ± 2,4 (kg) F, height 176,9 ± 5,6 (cm) M, 170,2 ± 1,3 (cm) F, length of climbing experience 12,1 ± 7,1 years M 9,8 ± 4 F, performance on the Union International des scale Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) 6+ to 10 M and 7 to 9 F). Climbers underwent test climbing on a climbing ergometer at submaximal load (vertical, 9 m / min) and a incremental climbing test to a subjective maximum. Tissue saturation in the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) and extensor digitorum communis (EDC) was assessed by near-infrared spectroscopy with a Portamon and MOXY instrument. Results: In 5 of the 19 tested, it was not possible to determine the oxygenation breakpoint using the MOXY record. Compared to Portamon, the difference in threshold values ranged from 0-9ř. Conclusion: Due to the unclear breakpoint in oxygenation in some respondents and the small agreement with the Portamon device, MOXY cannot be used to evaluate...
Development of German Alpine Clubs in Czech Lands until 1938
Chaloupská, Pavlína ; Waic, Marek (advisor) ; Štumbauer, Jan (referee) ; Hájek, Jan (referee)
Mgr. Pavlína Chaloupská, abstrakt disertační práce Abstract: The thesis analyzes activities of the most important German Alpine clubs operating in the Czech Lands and interwar Czechoslovakia since their establishment until 1938. The history of alpine clubs is explained, and the organization of DuÖAV (Deutscher und Österreichischer Alpenverein, German and Austrian Alpine Association) is analysed, on the basis of general and specific introductory information related to the alpinism in the late 19th century. The thesis is divided according to geographical location of the constituent sections. For each section of DuÖAV, the circumstances of its establishment are monitored, the sphere of its activity is defined, the internal organization is described, and the economic functioning is analyzed. The activities of Alpine clubs in Bohemia and Alps are charted in detail, and based on the research it was discovered that the most important activity of the Alpine clubs was the construction of the Alpine huts, owned by German clubs from Bohemia. Among other activities there were organization of guiding and rescue operations, giving lectures, balls and excursions in their locality. Two chapters are devoted to the most important personalities of the German alpinism in the Czech lands: Johann Stüdl and Rudolf Kauschka.
Environmental legal aspects of climbing
Kyloušková, Nikola ; Žákovská, Karolina (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
The presented thesis analyzes legal regulation concerning protection of nature and landscape in relation to climbing in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive overview on legal aspects of climbing and its critical analysis. For these reasons the thesis attends to another activity closely connected to climbing which is movement of persons in free nature. Rights of owners of properties as one of the important private law aspects is considered as well. The key part addresses itself to legal regulation of climbing in specially protected areas which are important locations for the subject activity. Conclusions of the thesis are based on not only legislative and regulatory acts, but many administrative decisions and measures of general nature issued by nature conservation authority. The thesis is divided into six thematically intertwined chapters. These chapters pursue a definition of climbing, an identification of reasons for which law regulation is needed and mainly presentation and analysis of legal regulation and legal aspects of climbing including issues of responsibility according to both private and public law. The thesis may serve specialists in the field of law as source of information on the subject activity as well as on partial legal institutes of protection of the...
Development of improvement in muscle strength, coordination and speed in sport climbing in children of elementary school age
Pfeiferová, Zuzana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: Development of improvement in muscle strength, coordination and speed in sport climbing in children of elementary school age Objectives: The aim of this diploma theses is to investigate whether there will be an improvement of muscle strength, coordination and speed in children of elementary school age who attend club of sport climbing and compare results with control group. Another aim of this study is to indicate the relationship between the examined parameters. Methods: This is a quantitative study - quasi-experiment in which 28 probands aged 7-11 years participated. They were deliberately selected and divided into two groups (climbers, non-climbers). Coordination measurements were performed using eight special tests, measurements of muscle strength were performed using three climbing tests and speed was measured by time of climbing on one route. The measurements were performed two with an interval of 3 months - in October 2019 and in January 2020. Results: A statistically significant improvement (p <0.001) was noted in coordination, specifically in rhythmic ability. Other improvements, which, however, no longer reached the level of statistical significance, was recorded in coordination in tests for differentiation ability, orientation ability, ability to rebuild; also in tests for muscle...
The role of commensalism on vertical activity in exploration tests: a comparison of 12 populations of the genus Acomys
Štolhoferová, Iveta ; Frynta, Daniel (advisor) ; Špinka, Marek (referee)
The objective of this work was to investigate whether there are differences between commensal and non-commensal populations of spiny mice (Acomys spp.). There is a good evidence that some populations of Acomys cahirinus have been commensal since the time of ancient Egypt, that is for at least 3,500 years. Therefore, it could be expected that some adaptation for a commensal way of life have evolved. To find out, I tested twelve populations of spiny mice in two types of open field test - a vertical test and a hole board test. In the vertical test, a wire mesh was added and offered to spiny mice to climb on. Since human settlements represent an environment with a new predation pressure as well as new hiding opportunities like those in heights above the ground, I hypothesized that commensal populations of A. cahirinus would (1) explore less on the ground and (2) prefer to spend more time on the wire mesh than the non-commensal populations. Results supported the first hypothesis as in both tests commensal spiny mice spent less time exploring on the ground than other populations. The second hypothesis, however, was not supported - all populations showed approximately equal interest in the wire mesh and commensal spiny mice did not spend more time on it compared to the others. Nevertheless, an overall...
