Multimedialization of production of Czech news agency focusing on audio and video service

Diplomová práce Multimedializace produkce České tiskové kanceláře se zaměřením videoservis se zabývá proměnami, které se v agentuře udály v nástupem digitalizace, internetu a moderních technologií. ČTK se působením těchto vlivů stala konvergovanou multimediální agenturou nabízející kromě tradičního textového a fotografického zpravodajství také infografické, zvukové a audiovizuální zpravodajství. Práce popisuje, na základě rozhovorů se zaměstnanci ČTK, jak probíhal vznik a vývoj audioservisu od roku 2000 a videoservisu od roku 2006 do současnosti. Zároveň průběhu let transformoval objem těchto servisů. Pomocí kvantitativní obsahové analýzy zjišťuje, jakým způsobem se proměnili mluvčí ve zvukovém zpravodajství a zastoupení zdrojů ve videozpravodajství.

The news of Czech news agency from Latin America

The aim of the thesis The news of Czech News Agency from Latin America is to document the form of the Czech News Agency's text news from Latin America, to reveal whether the agency fulfills its obligation to inform about events abroad according to Act No. 517/92 Coll., and also to expand the very limited number of studies related to this topic. This work deals with news agencies and takes into consideration the CTK as a public institution and outlines the characteristics of Latin America and its relations with our country. Using quantitative content analysis, I find out how much space CTK spends on the countries of the North, Central and South America, which countries are re-informing and which countries virtually ignore in its news. I examine what priority messages are usually assigned and which areas of public life are concerned. Last but not least, I compare the monitored reality from the first half of 2016 to the first half of 2006 to reveal how much informing about Latin America has changed over the course of a decade. At thesis I provide a detailed analysis of Czech News Agency's production from Latin American countries, which no one has ever dealt with in the Czech environment so far, and present the results of my analysis in the tables and charts.

The comparison of reflection of second highest czech football and hockey competitions in news service of Czech news agency in 2015/2016

The diploma thesis "The comparison of reflection of second highest Czech football and hockey competitions in news service of Czech news agency in 2015/2016" deals with media coverage of second football league and first hockey league in order to find out how Czech news agency holds the news service for its clients, who rely on its service, in particular season. The thesis also includes the comparison of the way of informing about both competitions. On behalf of the second football league and the first hockey league the thesis maps the production of sport reporters in Czech news agency especially from quantitative perspective. The thesis focuses on analysis of agency service especially on particular periods: a week before the start of the season, the first and the tenth round, a week before the start of spring part of football league and a week before the start of play off's pre-round and also key moments in both competitions. In theoretical part the thesis briefly reminds the history of both competitions, the development of their game systems and also offers a summary of the most important events of 2015/2016. The Ukrainian crisis in the news coverage made by ČTK and its comparison with ČT news with focus on crucial events within the conglict

This diploma thesis points out differences in the reporting methods of CTK and CT, the two public service's media, regarding the Ukrainian crisis. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on both of these media's properties with emphasis on their foreign coverageas well as related medial terms' definitions. One chapter is reserved to cover Ukraine as a state and its political history since the SovietUnion's disintegration through to 2014 and the Ukrainian crisis development; further studying the relationship between Ukraine and the Russian Federation resulting in the crisis in 2013. In the practical part of the thesis quantitative and qualitative methods are used to determine how much attention and screen-time both media dedicated to the crisis, which parties were given opportunities to comment and identify other sources of information. Keeping in mind the fact that CT had four reporters on site at it's disposal, the thesis tries to find out how big of an influence that had on the overall production, processing and tone of the television news and to what degree the production of both media agreed or diverged.

Reflection of Football World Cup in Brazil 2014 in news service of Czech news agency

Bachelor thesis "Reflection of Football World Cup in Brazil 2014 in news service of Czech press agency" deals with media covering of extremely important sport occasion. The main goal is to find out how Czech news agency provided news for their clients who rely on its service, especially when there was no special correspondent for it in Brasil. One of the most significant sport events in 2014 was taken as an example for mapping the production of sport redaction especially from quantitative point of view. Thesis focuses on analysis of agency service, it deals with a period of one week before the start of championship and a week after its final. In theoretical part the thesis reminds of process and development of chosen sport event and offers a view of its most important occasions. Also presents a profile of ČTK as a news agency and its sport service. Thesis pursues what in case of that significant sport event with societal impact was redaction"s personal security and what was the souring without special correspondent in the area. Thesis also quantify formats of news, other genres and chosen metadates emphasised interpretation of submitted data. Those are put and summarized in tables for better visibility. Bachelor's thesis Karlovy Vary International Film Festival's reflection in the news of Czech news agency (ČTK) deals with traditional cultural occasion in Karlovy Vary an its reflection in the news of the biggest press agency in the Czech republic. This important cultural occasion in bath metropolis can compare with much bigger film parades in Europe - as famous film festival in Cannes or Berlin. Besides the films every year there are also many film star guests and other important people from film industry. Because of that Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is always very attractive for many fans and also journalists. Especially for journalists for journalists - how sometimes the agency redactors are called. Besides the content of the released news this thesis also deals with their formats and chosen metadata. Focuses on frequency and intensity of news of ČTK in various pursued periods of year connected with the festival. Besides the quantitative analysis the last year of the festival thesis also deals with comparison of news production of the agency from years 2004 and 2009. Phone hacking scandal of News of the world and its display in the czech new agency

The thesis called Phone hacking scandal of News of the World journal and its display in the Czech news agency deals with foreign coverage of the Czech news agency concernig the News of the World phone-hacking scandal.The thesis mainly focuses on the second half of 2011, especially on June, when the scandal broke out. Firstly the thesis deals with history and present of British press, then with Rupert Murdoch's (the last owner of the journal and media mogul) operation in media, with formation, development and extincion of the News of the World journal. It also informs about the phone-hacking scandal's profile and about the news service of the Czech news agency - foreign coverage, reporting formats and so on. It focuses on changes of the amount of news during time, on used formats of coverage, on priorities, services, cathegories and also on sources which the agency used during preparing the news mainly in June 2011. Numbers of news are organized to tables which illustrate the development of amounts of the news published in relation to the scandal. Then the thesis more briefly focuses on remaining months of the second half of 2011 and on previous and subsequent periods. This thesis also finds out how the phone-hacking scandal influenced media regulation of Great Britain.

Media image of party KDU-ČSL, SPOZ, Suverenity and SZ after the elections to the PS PČR 2010

This thesis presents and analyzes the media image of political programs of parties Christian and Democratic Union - Czechoslovak People's Party, Green Party, Party of Civic Rights - Zemanovci and Sovereignty after parliamentary elections in 2010 in Czech public service media - Czech Press Agency, Czech Television and Czech Radio. In the theoretical part of the thesis are presented political party programs in the period 2010-2013, and also briefly introduced Czech public service media, their historical development or their current position in the media world. The practical part contains an analysis of textual and audiovisual content of individual media in the selected time period and focuses on the search for mentions of individual program points. Minor, but for understanding the role of public service media is an important part that compares the situation of position Czech public service media with those from another countries. The practical part then also examines the situation in the Czech world media after parliamentary elections in 2013 and if there are any consequences based on these results. A media picture of the Russian federation made by ČTK and its comparison with ČT reporter's news in the first half of 2012

Objective of this paper is to analyse the media picture of the Russian Federation as it was presented in the two Czech public media - Czech press agency and Czech television. The notion of media picture is brought into wider perspective of current media theory. The main subjects - the two media and Russia - are presented. Special emphasis is taken while challenging the significance of foreign news as a whole, and in particular, and also describing the specific features of the work of foreign correspondents in Moscow. Analytic part of the work deals with setting a proper research of media content involving Russia. The four stage quantitative content analysis tries to discover the volume of foreign news from Russia presented by the media chosen in the first half of 2012; topical, agentive, tone and source agenda of Czech television and Czech press agency concerning Russia; topical, agentive, tone and source agenda of both the two foreign correspondents seated in Moscow at the time; comparison of the diverse outcome of each medium.
