Electrochemical characterization of water soluble fullerenes
Kocábová, Jana ; Gál, Miroslav ; Hromadová, Magdaléna ; Pospíšil, Lubomír
Fullere (C60) is a highly hydrophobic compound and it is considered to be insoluble in water. Different approaches were described for preparing aqueous solutions of C60. One of the possibilities is to create an inclusion complex of the C60 inside a cavity of gamma-cyclodextrin. Recently, we have shown that such complexes are capable of the electrochemical conversion of N2 to ammonium ions.
Optical properties of thin films measured by PDS
Remeš, Zdeněk
Description of the photothermal deflection (PDS) spectrometer used in the Institute of Physics of the ASCR. Applicatons include the optical absorption in thin conductive oxides and thin films solar cells.
Characterization of structural and electronic properties of organic heterostructures by scanning probe techniques
Čermák, Jan ; Rezek, Bohuslav ; Cimrová, Věra ; Hörhold, H. H. ; Ledinský, Martin ; Fejfar, Antonín
Study of morphologic, electronic and optoelectronic properties of organic heterostructures by AFM, KFM, CS-AFM and micro-Raman mapping.
Charge transport at polypyrrole diamond interface
Rezek, Bohuslav ; Čermák, Jan ; Kromka, Alexander ; Ledinský, Martin ; Kočka, Jan
Changes of surface potential and photo-current under illumination indicate exciton splitting at the polypyrrole-diamond interface and transport of holes to diamond.
A curve template for I-V characteristics of the solar cells
Fejfar, Antonín
The contribution describes a computer program for manual fitting a theoretical dependence of the current flowing through a solar cell on the voltage in a way corresponding to flexible curve templates. The template provides handles "attached" to the curve for intuitive and independent manipulation of the parameters. This makes it possible to judge the sensitivity of the fit to the individual parameters.
Electrochemical nitrogen fixation in the presence of fullerene -.gamma.-cyclodextrin complex
Kocábová, Jana ; Gál, Miroslav ; Hromadová, Magdaléna ; Pospíšil, Lubomír
We report on the electrochemical conversion of dinitrogen to ammonia at ambient pressure and 60oC mediated by reduced fullerene (C60) inside a molecular cavity of .gamma.-cyclodextrin (.gamma.-CD) in aqueous solution.
Electrochemistry of selected halogenated pesticides and their complexes with cyclodextrins
Sokolová, Romana ; Hromadová, Magdaléna ; Pospíšil, Lubomír
A detailed investigation of electrochemical properties of triazine pesticides, carboxyimid-type pesticides and benzonitrile pesticides was studied. Their degradation pathways include the protonization reactions coupled with electron transfer and several side chemical reactions. The study of inclusion complexes of halogenated pesticides with cyclodextrins was performed. The inclusion into the molecular cavities markedly influenced the decomposition mechanism of these compounds by protection of reactive groups by cyclodextrin environment. The degradation products were identified by GC-MS analysis and in-situ IR spectroelectrochemistry.
Lateral elongation of InAs/GaAs quantum dots studied by magnetophotoluminescence
Křápek, V. ; Kuldová, Karla ; Oswald, Jiří ; Hospodková, Alice ; Hulicius, Eduard ; Humlíček, J.
We have investigated single layer InAs QDs on GaAs substrate grown by MOVPE by means of magnetophotoluminescence up to 24 T. Fitting the field-dependence of band positions, we have found the ratio of lateral sizes within 1.5 –1.7, and the effective mass of 0.04 – 0.05.
Properties of InAs/GaAs quantum dots in vertically correlated structures with 2 QD layers grown by MOVPE
Vyskočil, Jan ; Hospodková, Alice ; Pangrác, Jiří ; Oswald, Jiří ; Mates, Tomáš ; Melichar, Karel ; Šimeček, Tomislav ; Hulicius, Eduard
We have studied the shape of QDs in structures with vertically correlated QDs where two layers of QDs were grown. We investigated the influence of spacer thickness on lateral shape (elongation) of QDs and photoluminescence intensity.
MOVPE InAs/GaAs quantum dots with long-wavelength emission
Oswald, Jiří ; Kuldová, Karla ; Hospodková, Alice ; Hulicius, Eduard ; Pangrác, Jiří ; Mates, Tomáš ; Melichar, Karel ; Vyskočil, Jan
One method which enables the shift of photoluminescence spectra of InAs/GaAs quantum dots toward longer wavelengths is the covering of the dots by In.sub.x./sub.Ga.sub.1-x./sub.As strain reducing layer. With the increasing x we have observed the shift of PL maxima from 1.28 μm to 1.46 μm.
