The Economic Costs of Unfinished Highways in the Czech Republic

This thesis attempts to introduce between economists overlooked topic of highway effects to a wider audience in the hope of promoting discussion about the efficiency of infrastructure investment. It is also believed to be the first academic writing to question, verify, update and extend the offi- cial Czech guidelines used for highway cost and benefit analyses through a wide literature review, making it useful to road transport experts. The main focus is on the unit prices and quantities estimation of various costs and benefits, whereas the software calculation is not analyzed in such detail. Literature review, centered around the European recommendations and related academic research, a brief description of the cost and benefit evaluation of road infrastructure in the Czech Republic, and proposed changes in time costs, accidents, air pollution, climate change, landscape, biodiversity and time indexation are presented. USING THE CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER LIFE-TIME VALUE IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT COMPANIES

This paper aims to define methods for measuring CLV in the segment of internal customers of companies operating in the financial market. It's about finding such a method to determine the value of internal customers to predict and measure whether an internal customer pays off to the company. The standalone task is to quantify the internal customer's contributions to the overall value of the company. The area of CLV determination for internal customers of the company is not described in the literature. From this point of view, the determination of CLV internal customers in the strategic management system will be a major scientific achievement. Similarly to external customers (markets), as well as internal customers express greater or lesser affinities with their behavior and performance, in the first case the brand and in the latter case the employer. Therefore, CLV modeling for internal customers requires qualified predictions and expressions of a whole range of both hard (eg, cash flow indicators) and Soft (indicators of qualitative research such as loyalty) of indicators and their use in the calculation of CLV internal customers. An important prerequisite for CLV for both internal customers is their segmentation.

Analysis of economic methods applied in regulatory impact assessment

This thesis analyzes the topic of economic methods applied in regulatory impact assessment (RIA). The sense of a RIA system, assumptions of its effective functioning and its place in the framework of the EU's and Czech Republic's legislative process are introduced. Economic methods often used within the regulatory impact assessment process are discussed. The thesis empirically examines the progress in RIA methods quality between 2008 and 2011 in the Czech Republic and determinants of RIA methods quality are identified. We come to conclusion that the quality of RIA methods in the Czech Republic grows with expected costs of the regulatory policy and in case of RIA carried by an external subject.

Modelling of Economic Efficiency of Transport Infrastructure Projects

This diploma thesis deals with a cost-benefit analysis of investments in road infrastructure. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes a description of the cost-benefit analysis procedure and a deeper description of evaluating investments in road and highway constructions. The practical part deals with the specific investment for the construction of highway. This involves applying information from the theoretical part to this specific investment and evaluating the economic efficiency, including risk analysis. The main indicator of the economic efficiency is the net present value.

Cost-benefit analysis – Moral in economy

The subject of the bachelor thesis is cost benefit analysis and its ethical origin. Theoretical part presents ethical and philosophical movement of utilitarianism together with its main representatives. After that the bachelor thesis is dedicated to cost benefit analysis, whose basis is closely connected to utilitarianism logic and its way of value perception. Theoretical part is also devoted to the methodology of this particular decision-making instrument, which is widely used by governments and corporations. Practical part is focused on the relations between utilitarian way of thinking and the cost benefit analysis, which was used in existing practical studies devoted to the impact of smoking on the public finance of the Czech Republic.

Hodnocení veřejně prospěšných projektů s regionálně specifikovatelným beneficientem

The bachelor thesis examines the problem of evaluation of publicly beneficial projects with respect to cost-output methods. The theoretical part deals with evaluation of publicly beneficial projects, characterizes the term publicly beneficial project and analyses particular methods for evaluation of these projects. In the final portion of the theoretical part the most suitable method for evaluation of a project of reconstruction of outdoor staircase in the municipality of Bílovice nad Svitavou is chosen. The selected method is applied to the given project in the practical part, using the ex-ante and ex-post versions. The project is evaluated by means of criterial indicators, e.g., net present value, profitability index or recovery time, and on the basis of these indicators the acceptance of the project is decided.

The Bachelor thesis deals with a costs analysis of a common project including "Circus Napoleon" and "Lap of Frydecka Street". This is done on the basis of a theoretical knowledge of methods and procedures in evaluation of an investment efficiency. For this type of analysis, the SW program was designed. It is supposed to enable quick computations of crucial indexes and an explanation of their meaing in relation to the project acceptability.

The thesis deals with public investment project. The thesis first describes, what are the sources of investments, cash flows and investment evaluation methodes of investment efficiency. Further, the thesis is focused on project Urban swimming pools in Luhačovice. It is mainly about the history, construction and operation of swimming pools. Finally, it assessed the efficiency of the project in program eCBA.
