New research methods in transport geography
NEJEDLÁ, Eva
The concept of the study of transport geography is not uniform. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate and characterize development of research topics, main paradigms, concepts and research methods of transport geography since its establishment as an independent discipline, furthermore, to define new research methods. In ´90s the geography turns to mobility, to the one of the main concept of transport geography. Mobility has always been at the centre of an interest of transport geography, however, its conception and the approach to mobility has been changed throughout the time, as well as conception of accessibility. Research topics of transport geography have been significantly changed in last decades. Geographical research shifts from one-sided focus on the transport and transport system to the more various and more specific relationship where a man and his perception of space and movement plays the main part.
The Situation of Persons with Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Context of Legislative Changes
KUBALOVÁ, Zuzana
The Diploma thesis entitled Situation of People with Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Context of Legislative Changes deals with a topic which is not sufficiently resolved in the Czech society. Attention paid to the new Act no. 329/2011 Coll., on Provision of Subsidies to People with Disabilities and on Amendment to Related Acts, is not at a sufficient level either. The theoretical part of the Diploma thesis deals, at a general level, with rheumatoid arthritis. This is followed up by a focus on psychosocial aspects of the life of subjects with rheumatoid arthritis, on the social security system in the Czech Republic and on the Act no. 329/2011 Coll. Qualitative research was selected to achieve specified objectives of the practical part of the Diploma thesis. Interviews were used to obtain all necessary data. The technique for acquisition of necessary data was based on semi-controlled interviews. The interviews consisted in a list of questions which were discussed within the framework of the interview. The basic file for data collection was formed of people with rheumatoid arthritis. The selective file consisted of clients of the Rheumatology League of the Southern Bohemia Region. Altogether 20 interviews were made. The main aim of the Diploma thesis was to identify the impacts of changes implying from the Act no. 329/2011 Coll., on Provision of Subsidies to People with Disabilities, on the situation of people with rheumatoid arthritis. This objective was followed up by another three partial objectives, namely to find out how people with rheumatoid arthritis perceive the change in the subsidy payment site for handicapped people; to find out the impacts of the change in concepts of subsidy for mobility on people with rheumatoid arthritis; and to find out how people with rheumatoid arthritis perceive their obligation to provide data on incomes for justification of their entitlement for a special device. Survey questions were formulated on the basis of the Diploma thesis objectives as follows: 1. Did the frequency of transport decrease for people with rheumatoid arthritis in connection with the change in the amount of the subsidy for mobility? 2. Do people with rheumatoid arthritis perceive any benefits in unification of the subsidy payment place at the Labour Office? It implies from the results of the survey that the impacts of changes resulting from the Act no. 329/2011 Coll. did not have any impact on the situation of people with rheumatoid arthritis. During fulfilment of the objective of finding out how people with rheumatoid arthritis perceive the change in the subsidy payment place, two respondents pointed out that the issuing of the cards marking a vehicle transporting a person suffering from heavily impaired mobility pursuant to the Act no. 361/2000 Coll., on Road Traffic, which is closely interrelated with these issues, is performed at the Municipal Authority at the Department of Social Affairs. It has been furthermore found out on the basis of the survey that the change in the concepts of the subsidy for mobility has not had any impact on people with rheumatoid arthritis yet. And finally, the last conclusion of this Diploma thesis is the fact that people with rheumatoid arthritis do not mind the obligation to provide data on incomes while proving their entitlement for a special device. One of the aims of this Diploma thesis is to contribute to understanding of the entire situation of people with rheumatoid arthritis in the context of legislative changes. The results obtained from the survey could be useful for the general scientific public. An Annex to this Diploma thesis is a presentation which can facilitate orientation in the new Act. This presentation will be used as a material accompanying a lecture held in the Rheumatology League Association in České Budějovice.
The Bologna process: Trends and objectives in Czech higher education
Voslařová, Barbora ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The paper is dedicated to mapping the basic development of the Bologna process and its main priorities until 2012, mainly thanks to documents written during conferences held. It describes in more detail the selected targets, such as mobility, national qualifications framework and the introduction of a three-level structure of education in the European Higher Education Area, which was created by the Bologna process. The paper describes these priorities, especially from the perspective of the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. On the basis of mutual comparisons I discover some deficiencies of Czech implementation and deduce ways to effectively deal with these shortcomings. I mention the need to remodel programs of Bachelor cycle in more professionally oriented programs. Hypothesis of this paper is that the implementation of the priorities of the Bologna process has a positive impact on the Czech higher education. The paper this assertion does not confirm nor disprove. It only points out, that in the long run will show the overall positivity or negativity of the Bologna process in the Czech Republic.
Analysis of work equipment that are suitable for recycling of construction materials and waste.
HOŠEK, Lukáš
The aim of my thesis is to give an overview and analysis of appropriate facilities for recycling construction materials and waste products. I deal with the generation of construction waste resulting from demolition procedures and examine the classification of the demolition waste and its subsequent usage in recycling materials processes. The work further addresses the usage of relevant earth-moving machinery in this sector, including relevant adapters for demolition works. The thesis also contains an overview of crushing units with selected technical parameters including theoretical performance. The main criterion for the distribution of mobile crushing units is the size of the inlet. The results of measuring cycles and data for the calculation of the efficiency of crushers at particular work in the processing of construction debris are also given. The actual performance values are compared with the theoretical ones. In all cases, the actual performance is lower than the theoretical one.
Labour mobility in the Europe union
Nepomucký, Jiří ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Kačerová, Eva (referee)
The objective of the thesis "Labour mobility in selected European countries" is to analyze development trends of labour mobility and its determinants in 5 countries of the European union. Theoretical part deals with definitions of mobility which are necessary to comprehend analysis. Also includes consequences of labour mobility and process of legislative transformations, that had changed free labour mobility in the EU. Practical part deals with comparison of international labour mobility and labour mobility inside each country. Thesis also includes analysis of labour mobility trends from 2000 to 2010 and target analysis of European legislative changes. The counclusion of this thesis is that Europe union policy is filled with unfortunate paradoxes. On the one hand, there is very supportive policy of labor migration in the EU Member States, which does not show any improvement. On the other hand, there is the pursuit of complete isolation from the rest of the world, which in fact very effectively reduces the influx of immigrants and thus further weakens the potential of labor migration in the European Union.
Small terrestrial mammals along natural and anthropogenic landscape barriers
BOHDAL, Tomáš
The dissertation summarises the result of the study of small terrestrial mammals (Eulipotyphla, Rodentia) along natural (watercourses) and anthropogenic (road, highway) landscape barriers. It points to an interesting phenomenon of road drainage ditches as a transitional migration environment, further it assesses the level of locomotion activity, the rate of structure of subpopulations and the frequency of crossing watercourses in the case of selected rodent species. It contributes with its results to solving problems concerning the effect of these landscape structures on the species diversity, ground mobility or genetic structure of small terrestrial mammals. ˙˙˙˙
Labour market and the international mobility of the labour force
Kaczor, Pavel ; Macáková, Libuše (advisor) ; Breňová, Lubomíra (referee) ; Hazuka, Ladislav (referee)
The main subject of this project is the international migration of the labour force. There are two questions which it responds to. The first one: Is it necessary for the Czech labour market to use the foreigners (immigrants) labour force? The second one: Is there a risk of abnormal work emigration and shortage of the Czech national labour force as a result of it? The first part of this project describes current situation at the Czech labour market, potential impacts of the shortage of the labour force and the main factors that are able to improve the situation at the labour market. There are particular analysis in the second part of this project. The object of them are the migration differences among EU countries as same as the imigration and emigration flows of the labour force. One marginalized but very important migration factor is mentioned in the part 8. This is related to differences in child benefits in EU countries. In the part 9 I realized my own empirical survey. It is concentrated on the work migration and migration motives in three various regions in the Czech republic. The result of this dissertation is: 1) The work imigration to the Czech republic is necessary and adequate. 2) The work emigration of the Czech labour force is marginal and not dangerous for the Czech firms and Czech labour market.
Exploitation of older people as the one of the means to stabilisation of the Czech pension system
Hotovec, Pavel ; Szabová, Lucia (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
The aging of population is one of the topics that are nowadays often discussed by economists. It affects the sustainability of public finances and so indirectly an operation of whole Czech economy. According to an analysis of specialists, the demographic trend shows the unsustainability of a current pension system. Very likely there will be a huge number of older citizens on the labour market in a few decades. My bachelor thesis is focused on the Czech labor market and it is trying to discover the causes of this phenomenen, to evaluace future development and to offer possible solutions. It also deals with the basic description of the labour market entities, workers and an employers. Their potential incentives for involvement in a employment and a prediction of the future development in the labor market. It evaluates the economic policy which these preferences to a greater or lesser extet affect. Only these policies can make from current unsustainable system a system relatively stable, which will be acceptable for all citizens.
Occurrence of mercury in the soil around upper stream Ohře
MILLER, Zbyněk
The aim of this study was to summarize information about the behavior of mercury in soils, particularly the assessment of its mobility and bioavailability, and to verify the extent of contamination of alluvial soils under the reservoir Skalka. This research was aimed to evaluate the contamination of mercury floodplain soils with mercury belong the upper river Ohře near the town of Chvoječná, near 230th river kilometer. River sediments of the upper river Ohře and the surrounding alluvial soils in floodplains contain high mercury levels. The site has been sampled for mercury analysis of soil samples taken from farmed areas, which are expected enrichment of mercury deposits of the inserted river Ohře. There were two main types of land-use, permanent grassland and arable land. The observed results can be concluded that the river floodplain sediments enrich the soil with mercury. Analytical method (atomic absorption spectrometry, CV-AAS) showed that almost all surface soil samples from the flooded area exceeds the maximum allowed value (for light soils 0.6 mg.kg-1 and other land 0.8 mg.kg-1 ) that are designated for agricultural land. Indicative of mercury was determined by mobility, which was up to 2.18%. Levels of organic forms of mercury were also measured in the soils that reached the area of grassland 2 maximum 0.147 mg.kg-1; the subsidiary surface S1 had the relative distribution of organic mercury 10.98% at a depth of 101-140 cm.
