Cultural dimensions of alcohol

The thesis Cultural Dimensions of Alcohol is concerned with the relationship between alcohol and culture viewed from three aspects. The first chapter traces back the alcohol as a culturally important matter in the course of history. The significant historical eras and events are reinterpreted from the viewpoint of the relation with alcohol. Firstly, it focuses chronologically on the basic cultural functions of alcohol (simultaneously wine, beer and mead) in the period of Neolithic revolution and in the most important ancient civilizations. Further, it describes the role of alcohol in the Middle Ages from the standpoint of Christianity and ecclesiastical reformation. The remaining part is dedicated to the invention and distribution of distillation, the cultural and social consequences, which the innovation produced, and subsequent prohibitory attempts. The conclusion of the chapter confronts earlier and actual viewpoints of alcoholism. In the culturally anthropological part of the thesis the alcohol is embodied in the global scene of psychoactive substances whose ceremonial use is understood as a cultural universal. Use of Design Thinking approach on service innovation for Nutricia a.s.

The aim of this thesis is to identify innovation opportunities, which will serve to encourage individuals with inborn metabolic disorder phenylketunuria (also PKU) to comply with their strict dietary restrictions. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the definition of basic concepts of innovation and techniques of Design thinking focusing on the Human-centered design approach. Futhermore the reader will find introduction into inborn metabolic disorder phenylketonuria. The practical part contains a plan of research, description of the current situation on the Czech market, outputs of research with experts, outputs of the workshop with individuals with PKU and the identification of innovation opportunities and recommendations.

Selected problems in management consulting

Nowadays, management consulting represents one of the primes of economy of knowledge. The beginning dates back to beginning of the classical management way, today's form shapes in early of this century. The factors, that have influenced today's form of this industry, are shakeout, commoditization and innovation. The first part of the thesis analyses these trends. The second part analyses the processes inside the management consulting. Those processes can be divided into those that lead to the completion of the contract and those that follow the completion of the contract. The thesis analyses the most frequently used methods, selects the most important analytical models and successful practices that help consultant in realization of a change that is the essence of the management consulting.

Innovation of the Structure of Police Triathlon

Abstract Title: lnnovation of the Structure of Police Triathlon Aims: Aim of the thesis is to suggest a new structure of police triathlon including its scoring system and to create a model of annual training cycle for an individua! of the Police of the Czech Republic. Method: We have searched available literatura, rules, and other information sources relating to this topic. Through the method of critical analysis, we have evaluated the current state of the police triathlon races within the concept of the Police of the Czech Republic. Based on the data acquired by critical analysis and on information obtained from literary sources, we have suggested a new racing concept of police triathlon. Results: The new structure of police triathlon including its scoring system of evaluation was suggested in accordance with available literatura and by comparison of other multicontests. Simultaneously, a proposal of annual training cycle complying with the suggested structure was submitted. Key words: police triathlon, race structure, scoring tables, annual training cycle

This diploma thesis concentrates on the analysis of personal work in the retail company AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s. with focus on areas of appraisal and development of its employees. In the first part I describe the theoretical overview on used methods when evaluating employees, which I later apply to the company. I also offer possible innovation of this system. The second part is focused on development, methods of learning and implementation of talent management within AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s.

Title of the thesis: Comparison of the strategies of the Czech Republic and Federal Republic of Germany in the development of public administration in the context of the Digital Agenda for Europe by 2020 Abstract: Bachelor's thesis reflects the differences between the strategies for the development of public administration in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany in the Digital Agenda for Europe 2020. The strategy of the European Union - Europe 2020, which began in 2010 and aims primarily to economic growth and lower unemployment, consists of seven elementary pillars. One of them is the crucial Digital Agenda for Europe 2020. Thanks to these seven fundamental initiatives, the European Union and national authorities of member countries can combine their efforts in various areas, such as innovation and modernization of public administration.
