French children's literature - the problems of translation.R. Goscinny: Little Nicolas
Řezáčová, Michaela ; Šotolová, Jovanka (advisor) ; Belisová, Šárka (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is an introduction to reception of the youth and childrens literature (YCL) and a practical probe targeted on the readers reception of Little Nicolas by R. Goscinny and J.-J. Sempé in contemporary Czech environment. Today, fifty years after the issue of the first book of the series, Little Nicholas is already a classical work of not only the French YCL, but the worlds YCL in general. We were trying to establish how this general popularity of the book shows in an individual reading experience of one young recipient. In the first, theoretical part of the thesis (parts II to V), a brief historical overview of the YCL is introduced, particularly with regard to the Czech and French cultural areas. The present state and the tendencies of the theoretical research in the area of YCL are summarised, as well as some of the basic characteristics of its form and subject matter. Finally, the conclusion of the theoretical part of the thesis tackles the question of the reception itself. We look at it at first from a universal perspective, later we centre on some specifics of literary communication of the child recipient, in particular some approaches causing concretization of the literary text in the childs consciousness. These are the starting points for the theoretical foundation of our probe...

The level of the adaptation process in general at intensive care units
Aksteinerová, Monika ; Marsová, Jana (advisor) ; Svobodová, Lucie (referee)
The Graduation Thesis deals with the topic of the adaptation process of general nurses at intensive coronary care units. Through the research, we ask whether the level of the adaptation process and its duration is long enough to get nurses fully involved in the procedure. In the theoretical part, we work with the essence of the adaptation process. In particular, we analyse the nurse training process in the course of their adaptation in a new workplace. We look into issues related to the integration process management, from the view of the object and the subject as well. In addition, we pay attention to clinical practice tutors, their education and their roles - to teach, to convey and to assist. As regards the practical part of the Thesis, we have applied a quantitative research methodology. In the empirical part, we have set partial objectives and hypotheses to be confirmed or rejected through inquiry. The aim of the distribution of non-standardised questionnaires among new nurses in intensive coronary care units is to find out how their adaptation process is running, and to what degree they are satisfied with the adaptation process within the selected medical centres in Prague. We had chosen intensive coronary care units of the same type of nursing to avoid inaccuracy in terms of the interpretation of the...

Deploying Protheses for Children
KARBUSICKÁ, Jana
This thesis named: "Problems of usage of prosthetic aids for children" focuses on the nursing care specifics of the child patient after an amputation. The Amputation is defined as removal of the peripheral portion of the body with an interruption of a bone and the soft tissues which allows subsequent prosthetic solution. Prosthesis is externally applied aid, which replace missing or underdeveloped part of a limb eventually the whole limb. The aim of the Prosthetic centers is to offer to its clients the exact prosthetic solution which could fully replace the function of a missing limb and allow the child to live full life without any limitations. The intention of the thesis was to summarize the problematic of the upper and lower limbs amputation into one publication and also to focus this thesis on children and prosthetic aids for them. The reason is that in Czech literature there is no complex information which focuses on specifics for children. The list of synoptic distribution of the types of prosthetic aids was created based on the level of amputation. A large part of this thesis deals with the nursing care, including rehabilitation after amputation and prosthetic solutions. The possibility of the children´s active life with prosthetic aids was mentioned, also how they coped with the loss of a limb. And then the specifics of the nursing care and the attitude of the nursing staff to children and their parents were mentioned too. In the research part of the thesis three aims were set: Find out the limitations or the changes in the family´s life style which has child with prosthesis and the limitations in child´s active life with prosthesis. Ascertain the specifics and the lacks of the nursing care during preparation of children for the prosthetic aid. Based on these following aims the research questions were set: How was the life style of the family with child with prosthetic aid affected? What are the limitations in child´s active life with prosthesis? What are the specifics of the nursing care during preparation of the child for the prosthetic aid? The empirical part of my thesis was processed with qualitative data analysis using technique of the unstructured in-depth interviews. The first research group consisted of seven respondents. Five out of them were parents of the children without the limb and two out of them were children without the limb itself, who were old enough to give us the trustworthy information. The information from the prosthetic technicians was followed with these interviews. The prosthetic technicians clarified us the questions which resulted from reaching the respondents who cannot have all theoretical knowledge regarding the issue. We hope that the results from this thesis will be benefit not only for the medical staff to improve the quality of the nursing care, but also for the respondents who can find the information which was missing till this time.

Current issues of judicature in juvenile matters
BANIAROVÁ, Petra
This thesis addresses the issues of judicature in juvenile matters, focusing on the criminality of children below 15 years of age and the specifics of judicial proceedings in cases concerning an offence punishable differently. The theoretical part outlines development of judicature in juvenile matters in the Czech Republic and the relating laws, the specifics of judicature in cases involving children below 15 years of age, cooperation of organizations acting within the given issues, and the currently discussed topics, such as lowering of the criminal liability age, development of juvenile criminality in the Czech Republic and evaluation of the act regulating judicature in juvenile matters after the several-year operation in practice. Due to their age and psychical immaturity, work with children as offenders committing offences punishable differently requires specific procedures aimed at correction of the offender and prevention of occurrence of further problems. The objective is also a fast solution of the situation, the lowest possible traumatizing of the child and protection of his/her rights. A large number of institutions, such as bodies of social-legal protection of children, the police, juvenile courts and the Probation and Mediation Service, are involved in the process. The objectives of the thesis were ascertainment of opinions of juvenile guardians on the issues, in particular on the operation of the act in practice and on its benefits and contingent drawbacks. A further objective was development of suggestions for amendment of the valid legal regulation on the basis of the respondents{\crq} answers. In connection with the set objectives, the research was conducted in the form of a structured interview with open questions. The respondents were workers of departments of social-legal protection of children under municipal authorities, and juvenile guardians. The questions were focused on the operation of the act in practice from the view of guardians, on benefits and drawbacks of the act and on the opinions of the guardians on some specifics of judicial proceedings involving children below 15 years of age. After processing the data obtained in the interviews, several suggestions for amendments of the act regulating judicature in juvenile matters were developed to

Geoelectrical and seismic investigations for assessment of rock massif in neighbourhood of excavation
Jirků, Jaroslav ; Vilhelm, Jan (advisor) ; Mikšová, Jitka (referee)
The processing and the interpretation of the geophysical data measured by the author of this thesis in the Bedřichov gallery (municipal of Liberec) is the main goal of this diploma paper. Earlier data measured in the gallery by G IMPULS Praha spol. s r.o. staff members in the period between 2003 and 2010 are further used to support the assessment. The tunnel which serves to convey water from the Josefův Důl storage reservoir to the water treatment plant in Bedřichov is driven in the granites. These rocks are considered as a highly appropriate host medium for the future deep repository of radioactive wastes in the Czech Republic hence the gallery could be an appropriate place for testing of geological, geotechnical and geophysical methods for purposes of deep repository. The tunnel was driven using two different methods, which allows assessing of the impact of the driving type on the rock disturbance. The tunnel is open for a similar period, which is being considered between the start of operation and the closure of the deep repository hence it's possible to consider time-changes in the goaf. First chapters of this thesis present a brief insight into the problems of the development of the nuclear waste deep repository. The results of the measurements, which are interpreted in this diploma paper, were carried...

Literary and psychological specifics of fairy tales as a genre
Šimotová, Eva ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Klusák, Miroslav (referee)
My Diploma Thesis has a theoretical character. I dealt with fairy tales as a genre. I worked only with the folkloric fairy tales that are different from the modern ones in the way of universality. In the first part I looked for characteristic features of these stories from the literary and psychological point of view. I focused on time and place expression and how the fairy tale deals with the identity of characters and typical phenomenon of the good and the bad. Through these principles children can easily identify with the heroes of stories and therefore they help to solve specific developmental crisis and also to reach individual autonomy and integrity. For me, the theoretical basis was psychoanalysis and thus I followed the fairy tales theory of Bruno Bettelheim. I used this theory in the second part of my thesis as well. The interpretation of four fairy tales: Litte Red Riding-hood (Červená Karkulka), Jack an Jill (Perníková chaloupka), The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Sněhurka) and Hrnečku, vař! are given. It is about the determination of the main topic and the interpretation of individual motives. Besides the different options how to interpret it I also compared the different versions of these stories. At the end I tried to have a critical view on Bettelheim's approach and also to find...

Working strategies of nurses on manager posts
MARKOVÁ, Eva
The thesis "Working strategies of nurses on manager posts" deals with issues of the professional role and manager position of a head nurse. With regard to changes in the area of health policy and health care providing, as well as is the relationship with the issue of professional fulfilment of women on the labour market generally, it is important to know views, ambitions, and motivations of nurses, and their working strategies on managing positions. It includes aspects of harmonizing their family and work roles, as these are the moments determining the position of most women in our working conditions to a significant extent. It is to say, managing of the nursing personnel and health care is a typical feminine position in the Czech Republic, adapting to given rules of the work organization and hierarchical structure of health institutions. The purpose of the thesis is to outline such a frame of reference, which would enable to better understand values and attitudes of head nurses. An indispensable part of this outlook is to understand, how their carriers developed, to identify their managing styles and guiding of the nursing team, as well as to map how their personal and professional roles pervade and affect each other. In this process, revealing long-term working strategies of head nurses is an important source of knowledge and at the same time, an attitudinal reflexion of these contexts by nurses themselves. Therefore, the development of the role of a nurse - manager (specifically, the head nurse and the ward sister) was described as the first item in the framework of the professional live of managing nurses; and conclusions of a series of research studies, focused on these issues, were presented. Additionally, the specificity of management in the nursing conditions was analyzed, including changes after 1989, and possibilities of education of nurses - managers. Finally, an empiric probe into the explored points at issue was carried out. Data acquired by means of semi-structured interviews with selected head nurses in faculty hospitals were integrated with the help of one of classical approaches, through so-called Grounded theory method. On basis of the data analysis, a model of professional paradigm was created, demonstrating several phases of the professional career, through which a head nurse passes, which were called for illustration: Seeking of domain, Circle (changing of nursing lines and sites), Virtue of necessity (situation, where a nurse caring of a child chooses a workplace, which enables such care), and Anchoring in the nursing branch. Then, the manager's career of the nurse unwinds form the "Anchoring in the nursing branch" phase. Life stories of head nurses, built on information from qualitative interviews, include predisposing factors for a managing position. Last but not least, it is also about some imprinting aspects from the childhood and adolescence (e.g., number of siblings, reasons for the selected study). After certain time, a nurse becomes a shift leader and a deputy ward sister, and subsequently, a ward sister and a head nurse. According to circumstances, she uses a combination of several managing styles in this position, like authoritative, democratic, and consultative. The theoretical model of professional paradigm of head nurses, construed on basis of empiric data analyses, opens a trail for further investigations, where it may be possible to examine some consequences in more detail, like the course of the professional career of nurses, their managing styles, etc. The acquired and classified evidences contribute to enriching current state of knowledge of certain segments of nursing issues. For instance, the top management of health institutions may use them in planning and implementation of some policies in the area of human resources, or educational institutions may use it for better and more accurate setting of educational concepts of future head nurses.

FOSTER CARE GIVEN BY GRANDPARENTS
VALIHRACHOVÁ, Monika
Foster Care Given by Grandparents Abstract Substitute family care is a form of child care where a child is brought up by foster parents in an environment that is the most similar to living in a natural family. The most frequent forms of substitute family care in the Czech Republic are adoption and foster care. Only 2 % of these children are {\clqq}absolute`` orphans, the remaining 98 % are social orphans. These children have their own families, but the families either can´t or don´t want to take care of them. This thesis is concentrates on the foster care provided by grandparents. This type of foster care has its own specificities, which are introduced in this thesis. Data chosen for this thesis was obtained by qualitative research with the utilization of halfstructured, in-depth interviews. The results are case studies of five women, aged 20 {--} 30, who are or were fostered by grandparents. Statistics from the Vysočina region and the Region of South Bohemia are complementary information. This concrete data was obtained from municipal offices of municipal corporations of the Vysočina region and from the office of substitute family care of the regional authority of the Jihočeský region in České Budějovice. The aim of this bachelor thesis was the appreciation of specific characteristics of foster care provided by grandparents in choice families and the evalutation of the amount of children placed in foster care and tutelage (wardship) in the Jihočeský and Vysočina region per year 2007. Characteristics of foster care provided by grandparents were described. The number of children placed in foster care and tutelage in the South Bohemian and Vysočina region was only partially evaluated. This thesis has used qualitative research; it is not possible to generalize these results. The results of this thesis might be useful for all who are concerned with substitute family care. Special contributions have been made especially from these case studies, which describe the inception, process, positives, negatives and impact of foster care provided by grandparents and from the perspective of children (women), since research in this topic is quite rare.

MORÁVKOVÁ, Lucie
This bachelor thesis deals with children's drawing at preschool age. The introductory chapter of the theoretical part focuses on description of the preschool period, its specifics in cognitive, emotional and social development. The following chapters describe the development of drawing and its motif and the occurrence of particular topics in children's drawing. The research part of the thesis is focused on spontaneous drawing of preschool children attending kindergarten. The objective of this thesis is following the choice of drawing topics. Studied drawings are divided into several groups (categories) and examined through the analysis of drawing expression and the interview with the children/authors of the drawings. To meet the objective of the thesis one main and three supporting questions are asked. These questions aim to discover the occurrence of individual drawing topics, establish the correlation between the occurrence of topics and the child's sex, look into the conception of children's drawing and the choice of colour in children's drawing. The conclusion of the research part shows that the children are most likely to draw things they are surrounded by. Their drawings are concentrated on topics related to people and everything connected with them. The most frequent topics of the drawings are nature and the house. The findings of the thesis prove the existence of correlation between the topic of the drawing and the child's sex.
