Křenek, Jan ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of homes for the elderly during the covid-19 pandemic. The impact of the coronavirus crisis on zombie companies in Slovakia
Bosáková, Diana ; Geršl, Adam (advisor) ; Teplý, Petr (referee)
The thesis examines the effect of Covid-19-related financial support on companies in Slovakia in 2020 with a special focus on zombie firms. We examine changes in the number of employees, the average wage and the total costs for companies after receiving financial support. The cross-sectional and fixed effects models are used to determine the effect of the subsidy. Our dataset covers 6,771 large firms from which 7.6% are zombies and 2,547 SMEs in the period 2019-2020. The analysis showed that around 56% of large firms in the sample, both zombie and non-zombie firms, received a subsidy. The results suggest that companies which received the financial support had on average poorer job retention, lower average wage and the effect of the total costs of the company was not statistically significant. Nevertheless, currently available data brings a limitation to the construction of the control group. The thesis contributes to a better understanding of how the pandemic affected zombie companies and the efficiency of Covid-19-related measures on them.
Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on streaming services and their users
Měska, Tomáš ; Kruml, Milan (advisor) ; Štoll, Martin (referee)
This thesis examines the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on streaming services and their users. It aims to shed light on how the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the government measures and lockdowns that stifled social life and locked people in their homes for weeks, affected the use of streaming platforms by their users. This thesis focuses on the main characteristics and types of streaming services, the basic concepts associated with them, and looks at the production of new content as well as their distribution models. The subsequent section discusses the coronavirus and its impact on social behaviour, and then in particular the impact on the film industry in terms of production, content, cinema and film festival operations and of course the streaming services themselves. The final segment of the thesis then analyses and interprets the data collected in the questionnaire survey. Respondents' answers provide the basis for finding solutions to the research questions, which identify which streaming services users use, how many they use concurrently, how much time they spend watching streaming content, what categories of content they watch, or in what ways they use the services, for example in terms of devices or in comparison to other types of media.
Influence of respiratory rehabilitation on lung function in patients after COVID-19 pneumonia.
Světová, Barbora ; Benediktová, Květa (advisor) ; Irving, Anna (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the comparison of the measured values of selected spirometric parameters (FVC, FEV1, PEF) and the results of quality of life questionnaires (Karnofsky score and Jones shortbreathness score) in two groups, one of which had a prescribed rehabilitation program and the other was a control group. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge about the disease COVID-19 and its immediate and long-term impact, especially on the respiratory system. It also deals with the use of specific methods of respiratory rehabilitation in patients who have experienced the disease of COVID-19. The main goal of the practical part is to verify the effect of respiratory rehabilitation - a prescribed rehabilitation program on lung functions in patients after pneumonia caused by the disease COVID-19. Methodology: A total of 20 patients (average age 60±11,04 years) after pneumonia caused by the disease COVID-19 were included in the research, of which 10 followed the prescribed rehabilitation program. On the day of the end of hospitalization and a second time with an interval of 2-3 months, the spirometric parametres of the probands of both groups were measured and the quality of life was determined using questionnaires. The S-Index and chest amplitude were also measured in the experimental group...
The effect of controlled dry weight training on trunk and upper limb strength in former swimmers and hobby athletes.
Srch, Jiří ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Zenáhlík, Aleš (referee)
Title: The effect of controlled weight training on trunk and upper limb strength in former swimmers and hobby athletes Objectives: The aim of our study was to determine whether the effect of several weeks of controlled intervention would improve upper limb and trunk muscle strength in a selected population group. Methods: We used a Biokinetic swim trainer and a Cybex device to measure upper limb and trunk strength. To determine body composition, the TANITA MC-980 was used. Data were processed in MS Excel and SPSS, using Wilcoxon nonparametric paired test and Cohen's d coefficient. Results: Both research groups showed improvements in upper limb and trunk muscle strength. However, none of the measured changes were statistically significant. Thus, the results can only be evaluated within our research sample. The probands with no previous competitive swimming career showed greater improvements in upper limb and trunk muscle strength than the proband group with a previous competitive swimming career. Keywords: muscle strength, Biokinetic, Cybex, Covid-19

Vosátková, Laura ; Jirkovský, Daniel (advisor) ; Haluzíková, Jana (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the workload of nurses caring for COVID-19 positive patients. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to determine the workload of these nurses and to determine whether the workload of the Covid-type ward exceeds the workload of the standard non-Covid ward. Data collection took place in the inpatient, ICU and ARO wards of the Rudolf and Stefanie Hospital in Benešov, which cared for COVID-19 positive patients. The questionnaire survey took place from November 2021 to January 2022. The target group of respondents consisted of practical and general nurses. A data sheet created by Microsoft Excel was used for data processing, and STATISTICA CZ 12 was used for basic statistical analyzes and frequency tables. From the results of the survey it was found that the share, resp. 73.44 % of respondents reported a rate of subjective experiences that matched congestion in Covid's department. 90.63 % of respondents reported a share of subjective experiences in the Covid department that corresponded to monotony. The share of the combination of subjective experiences of overload and monotony was stated by 67.19 % of respondents. 20.31% of respondents and 1.56% of respondents experienced an unfavorable workload in the ward with COVID-19 positive patients. It can be concluded that the...

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the budgets of selected clubs in the Premier League
Zelinka, David ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Krause, Veronika (referee)
Title: The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the budgets of selected clubs in the Premier League Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the budgets and management of selected clubs in the Premier League. Methods: Qualitative methods of data collection were used in the thesis. Specifically, the method of document analysis (examination) and the method of data envelopment analysis DEA were used. The results were captured using graphs and tables. Results: The collected data revealed the disparate impact of the pandemic on the budgets of selected clubs in the Premier League. In absolute terms, the pandemic has hit the big six clubs hardest. The loss of revenue from ticket sales represented the biggest blow to the clubs' budgets. The largest revenue component: TV rights, was not significantly affected. The commercial revenue as the third main revenue item showed overwhelmingly an upward trend despite the pandemic. The expenditure component, consisting mainly of wages and operating expenses, has generally increased for the former and decreased for the latter, notwithstanding the pandemic. The DEA analysis found out that the least efficient teams (Everton FC, Crystal Palace FC) often recorded the loss in the seasons prior to the pandemic. This indicates...
Unemployment in the period of COVID-19: June 2022
Grossmann, Jakub ; Münich, Daniel
The effects of the covid-19 crisis on registered unemployment are hardly observed anymore. Adjusted for seasonal effects, the registered unemployment rate fell again in June '22. The Czech Republic remains the country with the lowest unemployment rate in the whole EU. Differences in the impact on women and men, occupations, education and age groups are still present but small. A potential threat to the overheated Czech labour market is the projected autumn slowdown in European economies.
