Methods and techniques of Drama in Education in teaching of historical part of science.

The discourse deals with the potential of implementation of joint teaching of history to pupils of multi-grade class in a primary school with composite classes. The education will proceed through the use of methods and techniques of the theatre education. Therefore the theoretical section pursues the features of the theatre education and its benefit to pupils' education. The discourse also explores whether the curricular documents provide for such teaching. The practical section of the discourse inquires into class education planning, its fruition and reflection, it also summarizes the used methods and techniques of the theatre education. A part of the section is an aggregate chart of pupils evaluating feasibility of the used activities. In conclusion a hypothesis is established that the education by means of theatre education is attractive to pupils. Didactic walks to explore the city Benesov and its surroundings

The aim of the diploma thesis Didactic walks to explore the city Benešov and its surroundings is to create a set of materials for teaching the 4th and 5th grade students about the region and its surroundings within the educational area Man and His World. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the inclusion of the topic in the Framework Educational Programme, as well as theoretical bases of thesis - memory, cultural heritage, object learning and didactic walks as a form of teaching used in the practical part. It also deals with the city of Benešov in terms of natural, economic conditions and most of all cultural and historical development. The practical part deals with the design of three local history walks around the town of Benešov and its surroundings on selected topics. The aim of the walks is primarily to connect the curriculum with the history of the city and to guide pupils to build a relationship to their city and its monuments. Parts of the walks are activities before and after and also the go through the selected places with proposed tasks and worksheets. Use of social studies textbooks by primary school teachers

The diploma thesis deals with the textbooks used by teachers of national history and geography. Most of the teachers included in my research sample use textbooks mainly for preparation of their lessons, which corresponds with the researches in the Czech Republic presented in the theoretical part of this thesis. As a complementary material used for lesson planning they use the Internet. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The findings of the research and the recommendations of the professional literature related to the issue of teacher's choice of curriculum and to the role of textbooks are discussed. The research related to the lesson planning, teaching methods and types of planning for the lesson is analysed and a special attention is given to the usage of various recourses e.g. encyclopaedias and educational software used for lesson planning. One chapter deals with the theory of textbooks and with the research related to their evaluation. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on the concept of lesson planning in the Czech Republic and the potential of textbooks usage for teaching of given subject. Entrance knowledge and ideas about continents of pupils of younger school age

This diploma thesis deals with the level of entry knowledge and ideas about continents of pupils of younger school age. The aim of this thesis is to investigate complex ideas and knowledge of pupils about continents through a single research conducted in the fourth and fifth grades of three primary schools. The research date is further analysed. It will focus on the source from which children learn the information; quality, accuracy, character, extent of this knowledge, and the emotional plane of cognition and preconception. The evaluation of the research as well as the key task of the work is to analyze the difference of pupils' results by individual schools, to compare the results of the fourth and fifth grades and, last but not least, to compare the level of knowledge of boys and girls. The result of the didactic application of research data, in the practical part of the thesis, is the creation of educational material in the form of project teaching for the fourth and fifth grades of primary schools. The content of the thesis is structured into five sub-units. The research part is preceded by the theoretical part, containing the theoretical starting points of the thesis and discussion with the literature related to the given issue. The second, methodological part, introduces the subject, course and processing of the research, including applied research methods and methods used in the practical part of the thesis. The core of the work is the research part which summarizes the collected data and informs about the results of the survey. The research is followed by the practical part which includes the proposal of own project teaching for the fourth and fifth grade of primary school. The final part confirms and rejects the input hypotheses of the research.
Prague civic buildings of the 19th and the early 20th centuries as a witness to the transformation of society

This thesis deals with the transformation of the society in the 19th and on the beginning of 20th century and its influence on changes of Prague architecture. Its goal is to find out, how this topic is covered in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and how it is implemented in the history textbooks for Stage 1 of basic education (4th and 5th grades). Furthermore, this thesis examines the development of Prague and the transformation of the society during the period of interest with the intent to determine, how these changes manifested into civic buildings. First part of this work is devoted to a detailed analysis of the available educational documents. It follows, that this topic is not covered in the Stage 1 basic education history classes to the extent that would correspond to the importance of this period for the further development of the modern society. This part also summarizes the professional literature and information available on the transformation of the society and the changes in lives of the Prague citizens, regional development of the capital along with the overview of the architectural styles typical for this period. The České středohoří Mountains - Cultural Landscape

Thesis "The České Středohoří Mountains - Cultural Landscape" deals with the territory of the České Středohoří Mountains' Protected Area as the landscape of settlements, namely settlements of rural character. Based on the field research, the basic characteristics of vernacular architecture in that territory are described and selected influences, that completed local villages' rural construction, are depicted. The thesis also provides evidence of regional interest in the national history and geography of the České Středohoří Mountains, especially in rural construction and urbanism. This interest in the national history and geography is discussed in the context of the development of Czech and German national emancipation. Use of audiovisual Equipment, Museum Pedagogy and Literature in the Teaching of Geography

His master's thesis I've divided into three parts, theoretical, practical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the teaching of geography, educational technology and teaching aids, museum pedagogy, individual educational specificities of schools and museums and how should cooperation look like, what role in it plays the personality of the museum educator and what it is for a school and a museum benefit. And last but not least the literature, which is in my opinion an important element in the teaching of geography. In the practical part, I have described a realization of a project in which it is used didactic technology, a collaboration with the museum and work with literature. The empirical part is focused on research in basic schools in the field of educational technology. The key concepts on which the research is based, such as: modern didactic techniques, working with modern educational technology, the perception of educational technology as a means to the realization of the teaching.
Primary pupils' historical thinking

PRIMARY PUPILSʼ HISTORICAL THINKING Abstract This thesis deals with development of childrenʼs historical thinking in primary school. At the beginning of the theses, changes in the Czech history curriculum are presented. Moreover, it discusses psychological relations of historical thinking and introduces important Czech and foreign works presenting researches in this field of study. The thesis depicts the course of the qualitative research focusing on the level of historical thinking skills of the fifth graders, especially their historical understanding. The research also contains four lesson plans including special tasks for children. At the end of the thesis, the influence of these tasks on childrenʼs historical thinking is examined and described. The suggested methods should be not only an inspiration source for teachers, but also a possible way of development of historical thinking of primary school pupils.
