RŮŽIČKOVÁ, Monika
Introduction: This Bachelors work deals with the issue of caring for patients with Gastro-Duodenal Ulcer disease. The population should be aware of the impact that the disease has which is caused by poor lifestyle and overusing of medicinal substances. The aim of the work: The aim of this work is to describe the knowledge of the patients about the regime measures moderate gastroduodenal diseases and to describe the impact of the disease on individual areas of life, Methodology: The empiric part was implemented by quantitative research through semi-structured dialog. The dialog consisted of 23 main questions and 50 subquestions. The informants above 18 years were selected from Vysočina (Highlands Region). They were 5 men and 3 women. Only two informants had medical education, the others were from the general future. The results: The obtained information was divided into four categories and eight subcategories. Through the research it was discovered that patients could be better educated about the complications of peptic ulcer disease. They showed the most knowledge in the field of nutrition and resting. The disease had the most impact on all areas of living in the most acute state. In the chronic phase of the disease, the informants did not observe a negative impact on individual areas of life. Conclusion: Healthy lifestyle is very important for prevention against peptic ulcer disease. Enough sleep, elimination of stress and regular regime can help prevent health issues. The result of this bachelors work can be a source of information for nursing students in education as well as nurses in practise. The results also point out the possible effects of the disease on individual areas of the patient's life, which should be taken into account during the treatment.
Nursing care about adolescent with asthma bronchiale
HERCOVÁ, Martina
My thesis is focused on adolescents with bronchial asthma. I described bronchial asthma, pathophysiology, treatment, regimens, nurse education and the specifics of communication with adolescents. First goal was to find out how adolescents abide by regime, whether they have encountered alternative methods of treating asthma, and whether there are gender differences. Questioning method has been used, where I created the online questionnaire and placed it on the social network Facebook. Second goal was to map the role of a nurse in an allergology clinic. Online questionnaire method has been used via online Skype communication. The results show that there are only minimal, even negligible differences in compliance with the regime's measures in relation to gender. Furthermore, it has been shown that, thanks to medication and appropriately selected adjunctive therapy, the patient can have considerable control over the disease. It has been found that there are patients with experience in alternative methods of treating bronchial asthma. During interviews with the nurses were apparent, that their role in the allergology clinic is irreplaceable and fulfills an important function, without which doctors would find it difficult to do. For practice, I would recommend to adolescents and their parents education about the issue of the disease, the symptoms of the disease and treatment options.

Dědinová, Kristýna ; Novotná, Klára (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Kristýna Dědinová Supervisor: Mgr. Klára Novotná, Ph.D. Title: Fatigue in patients with multiple sclerosis: The impact of negative thermotherapy on fatigue in patients with multiple sclerosis Abstract: The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of fatigue in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and the effect of negative thermotherapy on this fatigue. The main aim of the study is to determine whether it is possible to alleviate fatigue in patients with MS using local negative thermotherapy (specifically using a special cooling cap). The secondary aim is to observe the impact of the outside temperature on fatigue and performance in functional tests in patients with MS. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes the multiple sclerosis, fatigue as common symptom of MS and possible effect of negative thermotherapy. The practical part is focused on the effect of local negative thermotherapy on fatigue and related symptoms in group of people with MS. The following functional tests were chosen to evaluate the effect of negative thermotherapy: Timed 25-Foot Walk (T25FW), Six-Minute Walk Test (6MWT), Nine-Hole Peg Test (9-HPT) and Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT). Fatigue was assessed using two questionnares: Modified Fatigue Impact...
Emerging cardiovascular risk markers in diagnostics and therapy
Tůmová, Eva ; Vrablík, Michal (advisor) ; Freiberger, Tomáš (referee) ; Polák, Jan (referee)
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) have been one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in developed countries with an enormous influence on individual health and significant socioeconomic impact as well. The aim of most physicians in recent decades is to seek the best possible predicative risk factor (RF) (or combination of several RF) which could help to determine the individual risk of developing CVD. This risk stratification can be used to identify the high risk patients and treatment intensification or establishment of early preventive measures. Currently, several RF of atherosclerosis and CVD are commonly used to individualize health care. However, individuals with low levels of these RF suffer of CVD, therefore the effort to find as much as possible specific RF still persists. In recent years, the inflammatory markers, crucial in the atherosclerosis development, raise great expectation In our studies, we focused on investigating the levels of inflammatory parameters in specific groups of patients (obese children and patients with metabolic syndrome) and observed the effect of weight loss following lifestyle changes. Our main concern was lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), oxidized LDL particles (ox-LDL) and myeloperoxidase (MPO). The results demonstrated significantly...
Influence of education on blood lipid levels in dyslipidemic patients
Macinauerová, Romana ; Zlatohlávek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Šatný, Martin (referee)
Dyslipidemia belongs to the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases with the prevention and treatment based on the necessary dietary restrictions and a change in the lifestyle. The main aim of this work is to assess the impact of dietary restrictions and a healthier lifestyle on the patient's lipid profile, a secondary aim is to evaluate the patient's eating habits. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical background and an applied study. The theoretical background describes the importance and types of different lipids in humans and their characteristic transport pattern and digestion. This work also explains the concept of dyslipidemia, the classification, treatment and diagnostic approaches and the role in a metabolic syndrome clustering. An important part of the dyslipidemia treatment and prevention is the public education and this part of the thesis also outlines different forms with the correct principles. An integral part of the education is the adherence of a patient, what may be a key aspect of the dyslipidemia treatment. The applied study exploits: (i) a questionnaire that follows eating habits and consummation frequency of selected foods and drinks in patients from the Lipid Clinic of The Center for Cardiovascular Prevention, General University Hospital in Prague and 1st...

Pediatric patients with enuresis and their social integration
Fremutová, Martina ; Eislerová, Iva (advisor) ; Marková, Eva (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is dealing with enuresis and its history, pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of this entity. It is a theoreticaly-empirical thesis. The main aim of my thesis is to describe the psychological and social impacts (participating in freetime activities, overnight stay outside of home) of enuresis on enuretic children compared with the healthy population. The other question asked was, whether occurrence of enuresis is dependent on the socioeconomic status of the family and whether the enuretic children are more punished compared with healthy kids. For the empirical part of the thesis I chose the quantitative method of research, in the form of anonymous questionnaire. Sixty children (30 enuretic and 30 healthy, and their parents) who were treated at the outpatient and inpatient pediatric clinic in Prague participated in the study. The questionnaires were given out to four groups, enuretic children and a group of healthy children without enuretic symptoms, and parents of both groups respectively. The research did not confirm a lower self-esteem in enuretic children, which is in contrast with some of the literature cited. Our results have confirmed a tendency in lesser participation in social activities outside home compared with the heathy children (29% in enuretics vs. 55% in...
