Lucie Šimůnková KATEDRA (ÚSTAV) Katedra Pedagogiky VEDOUCÍ PRÁCE: PhDr. Veronika Blažková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: In this theses I deal with the theme of perception of the teacher with body modifications such as tattoos, piercings, etc. by other teachers at school. In the theoretical part I will explain all the terms from the field of pedagogy as well as the topic of body modifications. The practical part will be dedicated to the personal experiences, opinions and thoughts of teachers without body modifications, and the method of semi-structured interview will be used to find out this information. To supplement the information obtained from the interviews, the practical part will also include case studies with teachers who have body modifications. The goal of the thesis is to find out if teachers with modifications are perceived by other teachers positively, negatively or neutrally. Furthermore, whether the modifications affect the behavior of other teachers towards them, their approach, if they try to avoid them or have no problem cooperating with them, or whether they do not take into account the look of the teacher with the modifications at all. Psychological and social attributes of supported employment regarding employers and employees of companies where it is provided

Supported Employment is one of the main tools of active labour market policies for the people who are disadvantaged or with disabilities. It aims to aid people are disadvantaged when finding employment themselves, provides assistance when looking for and choosing the right employment and with preparations for its execution, facilitation of the first contact with employer and colleagues, and ongoing support not only to the person with disability, but also to his colleagues and superiors who will be in contact with him. The thesis focuses on the issue of supported employment and its relation to diversity management, which covers the topic of management of employing the minorities and disadvantaged groups. From this perspective the thesis discusses the attitudes and prejudices, that often pose a barier to supported employment and effective interaction of people with disabilities and without. Research aims to explore these attitudes and to explore the support, that employers and employees working in the companies there the supported employment takes place are provided. Motherhood of Women with Heavy Visual Disability

In my work, I deal with motherhood from the perspective of mothers with severe visual impairment. I focused especially on parenthood planning, on the period of pregnancy, childbirth and stay in the maternity ward and on the care for the child from birth to the age of three. I was interested to find out, whether visually impaired mothers encounter prejudices on part of the well-sighted people, whether they were worried that they could give birth to a handicapped child, what are the difficulties that severely visually impaired mothers come across most often in the individual period of development of the child, if and how education of children is different from the perspective of visually impaired parents from the perspective of well-sighted parents and also whether the child growing up in a family with at least one visually impaired parent is deprived of something or whether, on the contrary, this family situation has any advantages for such child. The objective of my diploma thesis is to map out various aspects of life of visually impaired mothers with small children in the greatest detail, directly from the point of view of those women. I attempted to achieve this objective by means of a qualitative method research, in particular in the form of a structured interview with six visually impaired mothers.
Prejudice of Majority against Foreigners

This thesis deals with the prejudices of the Czech society against foreigners, namely against Ukrainians. The observed problem is viewed in terms of both the majority opinion and foreigners' experience. Prejudices of Czech society are reflected by Czech and Ukrainian university students or college students or postgraduate students studying in Prague. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part presents Ukrainians living in the Czech Republic. Although the history is mentioned, this part deals mainly with the current situation of migrants who have come to the Czech Republic after 1989. The area of law that affects foreigners is also briefly outlined here. However, the central theme is the issue of attitudes and prejudices. The empirical part describes the objective of the work, methods of data collection and analysis and the research sample, but the main task is to present qualitative research data that familiarize us with the view of Czechs and Ukrainians on the prejudices of the Czech society. Both perspectives are compared to find some potential similarities and differences. The obtained results are then briefly summarized and discussed with findings from scientific literature. Gender prejudices and stereotypes in Czech society

The thesis entitled Gender prejudices and stereotypes in the Czech society deals with such prejudices and the stereotypes that are the current social problem with which every man in his life can encounter since attending the primary school and later during the looking for a job or in a family life. The aim of this thesis is to find the gender prejudices and the stereotypes in the MEN/ WOMEN magazine, the WOMEN part, column Topic for 2011 which consisted of ten editions of this magazine. The thesis is based on the theoretical knowledge and it tries to interpret the analyzed gender prejudices and the stereotypes. The theoretical part serves for better comprehension as it focuses on the definition of the term gender, as well as gender and its associated prejudices and stereotypes and the media themselves as the magazine analyzed is part of them. To achieve the objective, a method of a quantitative content analysis was used. The data from the research are processed into individual tables.
Seniors and active aging in the seniors'house in Ostrava

Demographic aging of population brings a number of needs, demands and changes in many areas of social life. In this case, Czech Republic has accepted several documents which also contain National Programme of Preparation for Aging for 2003 - 2007, and then for 2008 - 2012. This document regards to the concept of active aging and old age, which was accepted by the World Health Organization in the 90's, defined as a process of health quality development, seniors' social participation and the entire rising of a quality of life in an old age. The activity becomes desirable and proper way of the seniors' life. The diploma project is focused on the seniors' activities, specifically on the offer of activation activities and their usage in Ostrava seniors' house. The theoretical part is pursued on the definition of aging and old age, physical, mental and social changes and the science disciplines, which are focused on those. Besides, it deals with social services, closer with the seniors' houses, activity and activation in the houses and about the concept of active aging, National Programme of Preparation for Aging and European Year of Active Aging. Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment

The thesis "Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment"focuses on the discrimination problem of persons over 50 years of age when they look for a job. The discrimination is one of the factors that prevent older persons from entering the labor market, which affects not only those persons but the whole society as well. At first, the thesis determines the theoretical concepts, which it comes from. Those concepts go through the whole thesis. Further on, it outlines a brief survey of national and European legal norms that deal with the given problem. It also introduces institutions that manage the problem and that we can contact in case of encounter with discrimination. In the next part, the thesis focuses on the negative aspects of discrimination and on the occurrence frequency of discrimination itself in the Czech Republic, particularly in the job advertisements and during job interviews. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the discrimination of person over 50 in the district of Teplice, both from the point of view of the unemployed persons and the employees of the Labor Office. The final part identifies main fields of problems, which it propose possible solutions for.
Perception of cultural differences in children with different mother tongue and children from bilingual environment

Thesis Perception of cultural differences in children with different mother tongue and children from bilingual environment is a case study at a specific primary school. The theoretical part deals with methodology of education of pupils with different mother tongue than Czech and the methodology of education of pupils living in a bilingual environment. Furthermore, the cultural differences, the identification of cultural clashes is explained here. The thesis also deals with the issue of national minorities in the Czech Republic, stereotypes and labelling. The practical part is focused on finding out whether the students with different mother tongue and students from bilingual environment perceive cultural differences at a particular primary school. How the school and pedagogical support them to integrate into the mainstream teaching.
