The part of the helping workers in supporting a family in the development of playing of children with ASD

(in English) This bachelor thesis is about role of helping workers in supporting a family in the development of playing of children with ASD. It highlights importance of gaming for right children's development as an individual and problems which children with ASD can have with activities such as games. It also contains importance of professionality and cooperation of all of the supporting assistants in order to have complexity of the work. Practical part has two parts. First part of reseach was focused on role mapping of the helping workers, who are in contact with children with ASD. Purpose of this preresearch was to find assistants who are in the deepest contact with these types of games. There were interviews with those people in the second part of practical part. Second part is focused on detailed work with kids with autism and their families. It includes also group playing, possibilities in education and principles of right choice of it.

PaedDr. Jiřina Klenková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis deals with the development of communication skills in children with autism using Verbal Behavior - Applied Behavioral Analysis (VB-ABA). The aim of this work is to introduce VB-ABA approach as an effective intervention for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). It is a monographic work with emphasis on a theory. The empirical part consist evaluative single-case study. The thesis is devided into six theoretical and one empirical chapter. The first theoretical chapter presents the issue of communication in a view of behaviorism and compares this approach with classical linguistics. The second chapter describes theories of language acquisition and language development from behavioral and linguistic perspective. The third chapter discusses the development of children's speech in the context of ontogeny and its functions. The fourth chapter deals with the issue of communication skills in the context of ASD. The practical part contains the Czech translation of the introduction and the first three chapters of the Spanish parents' guide to autism Un niño con autismo en la familia, Guía básica para familias que han recibido un diagnóstico de autismo para su hijo o hija. The book published by The Institute on Community Integration (INICO) deals with difficulties of the inner acceptation of the diagnosis and provides basic information on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The theoretical part includes the translation commentary where the aplied translation procedures, translation problems encoutered while translating and their solutions are discussed on the basis of the translation analysis of the original text. Raising a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This Bachelor thesis deals with raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Its primary focus is an impact of ASD diagnosis on raising a child and secondary it also introduces the basic principles of intervention, which are broadly used in raising a child with ASD. Literature review part of this thesis defines current approach of ASD. It also describes the impact of impairments in communication, social interaction and imagination on raising a child with ASD. Important principles of intervention in raising a child with this diagnosis, which are individualization, structuralization, visualization and motivation, are presented there as well. The second part of this thesis presents a proposal for qualitative research that aims to point out differences between how mothers and fathers accept the diagnosis, perceive the impact on family relationships and use the principles of raising a child with ASD. Proposed research should provide hypotheses which would serve as a foundation for future research.

TITLE: Practical use of Applied Behavioral Analysis in creating an individual education plan for a child with autism. AUTHOR: Kateřina Chrapková DEPARTMENT: The Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Jaroslava Zemková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor`s thesis deals with the practical use of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in creating an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for child with autism. It also attempts to provide a more comprehensive view of the ABA intervention, which provides individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) an additional option in their educational process. The work is divided into four parts. The first chapter characterizes autistic spectrum disorder and its classification. Included are descriptions of education possibilities for individuals with ASD as well as strategies for making an Individual Education Plan. The second chapter introduces the history and development of Applied Behavioral Analysis and specific Verbal Behavior Approach of Applied Behavioral Analysis (VB-ABA).
