"Polyamory Has Always Been There Somehow" - Women's Experiences With Polyamory

The bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon of polyamory, an alternative form of experiencing partner relationships in which it is possible and acceptable to love more than one person simultaneously. This thesis examines how women who have experience with polyamory relationships evaluate this experience, what meanings they attribute to their experiences with polyamory and how polyamory influences their construction of self. The thesis also focuses on the influence of social norms and expectations associated with partnership and female sexuality in Western society. Thus, the goal is to describe how women experience polyamory and to explain to what extent society stigmatizes this relationship arrangement and how polyamorists deal with it. The findings in the analytical part of the work derive from the analysis of nine in-depth interviews conducted with women who have experience with polyamorous relationships. These interviews were analysed using the qualitative method of segmentation and coding. The findings of this research are divided into four areas. The first area reflects women's experiences with polyamory and includes the presentation and reflection of their self-identity and journey to polyamorous relationships. Relationships of People With Multiple Disabilities

1 ABSTRACT The thesis deals with the topic of partner relationships of people with multiple disabilities. The academic literature does not pay enough attention to this issue. However, knowledge in this area is essential for the proper integration of individuals into society and for ensuring their opportunities to develop social relationships comparable to those seen in mainstream intact society. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to identify the characteristics of partnership cohabitation of people with combined disabilities. To this end, a qualitative research investigation was conducted in the form of structured interviews. The research sample consisted of a total of 13 respondents, 11 persons with combined disabilities and 2 senior staff members of the Jedlička Institute. The thesis provides a detailed insight into the formation and functioning of partnership relationships and identifies the determinants that influence these relationships through the open coding method. The main finding of the analysis is the negative connotation of the identified determinants, which thus represent rather barriers preventing the formation of relationships. This finding represents a challenge not only for social service workers but also for individuals with disabilities to find ways to overcome these barriers. KEYWORDS...
Conflict resolution strategies in romantic relationships in context of attachment and emotional regulation

The thesis focuses on the issue of conflict resolution in romantic relationships which is viewed from the perspective of attachment and emotion regulation theory. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the content of the mentioned constructs and presents an overview of available empirical findings dealing with the issue. The empirical part of the thesis verifies connections between attachment anxiety and avoidance, conflict resolution styles and emotion regulation strategies, which demonstrates the research variables arised from the administered ECR-R-16 (Dotazník prožívání blízkých vztahů), RPCS (Relationship Partner Conflict Scale) and CERQ (Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire) questionnaires.
Perception of parental divorce by adolescents

This bachelor thesis is concerned with experiencing parents' divorce by adolescent children. The theoretical part deals with description of a family, typical attributes of adolescence period, partner relationship, and primarily with disintegration of a family from the point of view of possible impact on an adolescent. The practical part is based on qualitative survey in which six responders, who have experienced the family decomposition as a result of divorce, were spoken to using the method of half-structured interview. The aim of the survey was to catch the adolescents' experiencing the course of family disintegration and to chart mainly the changes of their relationship with parents. The aim was also to discover what has helped the adolescents in hard moments, what their perspective of partner relationship is and how they evaluate the whole situation now. The data was processed using the content analysis. From the gained knowledge it was discovered that the adolescents have experianced the parents' divorce negative in most cases. Going through this hard situation of life brought the changes such as disruption of the relationship with parents which is irreversible according some of the responders, a different point of view of partner relationship and of life in general. Phenomenology of Humor in Romantic Relationships

The objective of this thesis is to introduce the topic of humor in the context of romantic relationships from the perspective of both partners separately. It examines the forms, manifestations and functions of humor in the relationship and observes whether the production and perception of humor of the partners changes over time. The theoretical part analyzes the conceptual definition of humor in terms of its functions, aims, styles, focus and the participants in the communication process. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the topic of romantic relationships, presents theoretical models of their formation and stages, describes factors influencing relationship cohesion, and reflects on couple conflicts and the communication strategies that constitute them. The empirical part of the thesis presents qualitative research focusing on the phenomenology of humor in six heterosexual romantic relationships with 12 respondents. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and the subsequent analysis was developed using principles of grounded theory method. Transformation of the usage of new media and their role in romantic relationships

The bachelor thesis focuses on the transformation of the usage of new media in romantic relationships of Generation Z. The thesis aims to find out what is the role of social media in romantic relationships, what functions they perform, and how they interfere with them. The first part of the thesis defines new media and social networking sites and then the specifics of presentation and online communication on social media in romantic relationships are explained. The practical part is based on qualitative research. Respondents are members of Generation Z who are users of social networking sites, maintain long-term relationships, and do not share a household with their partner. The data obtained from the conducted semi-structured interviews were analysed by the method of grounded theory. The key topics were those which dealt with the social networking sites impingement to the time shared together, the insistence on privacy, the communication inside relationships, the communication with other sex and motivation for presenting a romantic relationship on social networking sites.
