A critical price analysis on the imperfect competitive market

Perfect competition can be considered as a theoretical state. For this reason, this work is focused on the imperfectly competitive market and pricing in it. The aim is to investigate in more detail how specific companies with elements of monopoly use their position to determine the price for their product and price discrimination - they are so-called price makers. The work analyzes specific approaches to the pricing strategy of these companies.

Collective management in the context of modern technologies

COLLECTIVE MANAGEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN TECHNOLOGIES MGR. BC. LUCIE SMOLKA, PH.D. The thesis focuses on transformation of the role of collective management in the online world. The main goal and the research question that this work sets is to analyse and provide an answer to the question how the collective management and its position changes depending on modern technologies (especially the Internet). Within this main research question, two tendencies are observed, two main areas influenced by the general characteristics of copyright, reflected in the functioning of collective management in the environment of modern technologies. An aspect that permeates the work is the view of copyright territoriality and its influence and its changes regarding the collective management. The goal is to find out how the application and perception of the principles of territoriality is changing in a context of ever-increasing intersection of copyright and modern technologies. In addition to the general features of collective management, in connection with the territoriality, we will concentrate on multi-territorial licensing instruments, which were introduced, despite the previous efforts, only through the Collective Management Directive. Antenna system for wireless microphones

Master's thesis deals with the design of an antenna system for wireless sound transmission used mainly in professional sound reinforcement. The introductory part deals generally with wireless microphones, frequency bands used and proven antenna types. Next, this work deals with signal distribution that is realized using the antenna splitter. The antenna parts is focused on easy production and real usage, therefore were selected antennas with appropriate properties suitable for small series production. This thesis includes simulation of each device, their real construction design and measurements of built prototypes and final products. All three produced devices – the rack splitter, /4 antenna and Helix antenna are fully working, achieve good parameters and are ready for further manufacturing and easy modifications in case of frequency band change requirement. The conclusion includes an overall assessment of the results achieved.

Mandatory disclosure

The bachelor thesis firstly introduces the problems of mandatory disclosure and describes different attitudes to it. Following is the essential part of the work containing the definition and specification of the studied models of monopoly and duopoly. These models are further analysed and solved using the game theory tools and microeconomics methods for profit optimization. Subsequently the numerical results are evaluated and presented. The obtained results are suggesting whether voluntary or mandatory disclosure regime is more profitable for whom under different conditions - the models parameters in other words. Finally the discussion of the results, the results' relevance and interpretations in the context of related literature are presented. The particular numerical results are of a reasonable nature and rather fit to the literature context than not.

Violence and the Political

The main subject of this paper is the course of state and violence under the impact of processes of globalization and privatization, culminating in the beginning of 21st century. Max Weber's definition of state as the monopoly on legitimate violence within certain area is highlighted, the aim of this work is to show current unsustainability of a nation state by this definition and also to describe other possible meanings of state in globalized world. After the theoretical introduction characterization of historical process of monopolization of violence by the state follows - contemporary course looks like the exact opposite of historical process, during which the state expropriated all of the other possessors of rights to use physical force. Next chapter depicts the present-day role of the state in globalized world and also possible re-interpretaions of this role for new, cosmpolitan state, whose task should be worldwide promotion of human rights and defence against planetary self-destruction. The paper is closed by emphasis on openness of the whole process - transnational companies try to promote an opinion that there is no chance of state's survival - that is true, but only for the state defined in national, not cosmopolitan terms.

The intention of this thesis is to assess whether it is economically advantageous formation of water prizes with using elements of price discrimination. The first part of thesis defines the theoretical basis on which it is based on practical part. The analytic part is dealing with cost of production and distribution of water, prizes of water and adequate profit in company. There is also described the current situation in the market including legislation related to the issue. The last part is own proposals for pricing.

The first section explains the concept rentseeking, the second part redefines this concept into national environment, the case studies are analyzed in the third part and the fourth is concentrated on specific interest groups in the Czech Republic.

The Importance and Impact of the Antimonopoly Office in the Czech Republic

The Diploma Thesis is focused on the issue of protection of economic competition. It deals with its politics, structure, distorting competition and last but not least its protection. The objective of the work is to analyze and describe the importance of the Office for the Protection of Competition, its influence and work in relation to the most important cases of the distorting competition in the Czech Republic, mainly in case of cartel agreements, abuse of dominant position, specifically in the period 2010-2015. Fundamental part of the work was based on the research that was crucial for the work. The research collected data in the Czech as well as English language in order to gain theoretical basis. It was necessary to gain and study all available professional information concerning to the topic. Analytical part of the work was based primarily on the description and comparison method. Sources for the analytical part were gained from the regularly published reports of the Office for the Protection of Competition. These data are publicly available information. Conclusion of the work deals with assessment of work of the Office for the Protection of Competition and its influence. Therefore there was confirmed one of the main thesis that had initiated the research. The author of the diploma thesis came to the conclusion that imposing sanctions is not only the most effective tool of the economic protection but also serves as a significant preventive measure.
