Asynchronous Task Processing in PCS Project
Purposeful updating of a set of historical objects

The grounds of the Porta Coeli monastery have been revived since their return to the Cistercian order, in restitution in 1995. The monastery's management is gradually trying to repair and improve it. Due to the large area and the long time of neglect, this is a task for a long time. In my work, I am looking for other possibilities for using currently unused and often dilapidated buildings. The main entrance to the complex is through a passage in the new fort building. Most pedestrians flow through here and continue to walk through the linden alley. As part of the revitalization, I would like to propose in my project the use of this linden alley for the organization of markets - from farms with local food to Christmas. I am convinced that the stalls located in the alley, together with the lighting on the trees, would be able to create a magical Christmas atmosphere behind the scenes of a major monument and would certainly attract visitors from a great distance. In the project, I address the granary and sheepfold buildings in more detail. The former granary will provide new accommodation for 66 people and a beer spa, and the former sheepfold will be a multifunctional hall suitable for exhibitions, training, concerts and weddings. These buildings are located in the back of the area, and this location ensures privacy at events and at the same time should not be disturbed by tourists.

The assignment of the diploma thesis is the analysis of a set of buildings in the Porta Coeli complex with a proposal for a new use of the buildings and with the possible insertion of an architectural novelty. After processing the analysis of the whole area, it was found that there are several buildings in the area for which it would be necessary to design a new use. One of the unused parts today is the 3rd quadrature of the Porta Coeli monastery, otherwise the boardyard is named and the southern part adjoins it - the seat of the abbess. The proposal is based on the extension of the existing functions of the monastery - the House of Peace, which currently consists of several rooms. House of Peace are thoughtful spaces for people who are looking for a break from everyday life and stress. The monastery atmosphere and tranquility help to do this. It can be assumed that nowadays the need in such spaces will only increase, so in its proposal it deals with the possibility of expanding the House of Peace. The proposal consists of: • Reconstruction of the existing premises of the 3rd quadrature, where the accommodation will be located • Extensions to the 3rd quadrature, where the dining and entrance area is designed • New buildings of the 4th quadrature, where spaces for leisure activities will be located: (yoga hall, meditation hall and art therapy workshops) The location of the newly designed building on the plot respects and responds to the history of the monastery and also to the stimuli from the surroundings. The principle of neoplasms is based on the historical growth of the monastery. The floor plan is designed in an L-shape and forms the 4th quadrature of the monastery. The main point of the proposal was to put the building into context as sensitively as possible. The new building, designed as a single-storey building with a vegetated roof, should blend in with the surrounding greenery from an aerial view and from the windows of the monastery.

Holasová, Anežka ; Oulíková, Petra (advisor) ; Vymazalová, Marie (referee)
Fresco works by Lukáš Vávra in South Bohemia This diploma thesis is devoted to the work of the late Baroque fresco painter, and Vyšší Brod Cistercian, Lukáš Vávra. His artistic legacy has not yet been documented in its entirety, nor has it been examined historically. This thesis is the first effort in this direction. It is based on data drawn mainly from the Historical Archive of the Vyšší Brod Monastery, as well as from other archival sources. Vávra's works are included in this discussion, especially the frescoes in the monasteries of Vyšší Brod and Zlatá Koruna, as well as framed paintings that have been preserved. With the help of relevant respected sources, Vávra's artistic endeavors are then placed in the cultural and historical context of Southern Bohemia. This relates primarily to the Schwarzenberg Dominions in South Bohemia as well as the environment of the South Bohemian Cistercian monasteries in Vyšší Brod and in Zlatá Koruna.

Porta Coeli complex - new use of selected objects
Ovsak, Artem ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The subject of the master's thesis was the development of an architectural study and proposal for the new utilization of historical buildings in the Porta Coeli complex in Předklášteří near Tišnov. The complex consists of several buildings, but the focus of the work was on the key ones. Currently, three sisters reside in the monastery, utilizing the first and second quadratures and having access to the monastery garden. The third quadrature is used by volunteer groups who assist in the maintenance of the monastery and occasionally contribute to the production of local products such as must, preserves, and honey. One floor of this quadrature has already been reconstructed. In the future, the space of the former laundry is planned to be utilized as accommodation for employees, with a change in its function to a production area being implemented as part of the project. The former sheepfold will be transformed into a multifunctional space intended for various types of events. Currently serving as a sawmill, it is economically most advantageous for the monastery council. The reconstructed former granary will have accommodation functions, and its location near the water increases its attractiveness and generates investment interest in its reconstruction. The design also includes the placement of an amphitheater on the slope next to the granary and sheepfold. The utilization concept shows that these two structures will be closely interconnected, and the amphitheater, along with the modified space, will serve as a meeting place for various events, such as weddings, conferences, or celebrations. An important aspect is that the shape of the amphitheater will follow the slope, helping to perceive the space, surroundings, and allowing visitors an uninterrupted view of nature. As part of the work, an extension to the second quadrature was also proposed, intended to serve the staff of a future rehabilitation center. The concept focuses on utilizing the second quadrature as a rehabilitation center for athletes and ordinary visitors. The center includes short-term accommodation, a dining area, medical offices, and facilities for the staff. The connection with nature, peaceful location, and aesthetic and mental harmony contribute to the faster recovery of visitors. The former carriage house is currently used as sanitary facilities, while most of the building remains unused. Preliminary plans consider its future use either as a smaller production space or as a storage facility for the purposes of the museum and the monastery. An extensive intervention in the restoration of the forecourt of the former sheepfold will be carried out. Various elements will be placed here, such as a labyrinth and other recreational zones. The design also included modifications to the outdoor space, the creation of new parking capacities, and reinforced surfaces.
Porta Coeli complex - new use of selected objects
Kukuť, Olga ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the functional use of the entire site of the Cistercian Porta Coeli monastery in Předklášteří near the Tišnov, based on which the conversion of unused objects with a proposal for a new functional use, including the design of an architectural novelty, is proposed. When creating an architectural study, it was first necessary to analyze the current state and at the same time take into account the cultural-historical values of the monastery, its area and the immediate surroundings, the construction-technical condition and civic amenities in the vicinity of the area. The basic idea of the design was to attract visitors to the area and give it new life. Create a comfortable quiet space for tourists and local residents. The project also created a new object for the creative development of children. Therefore, in 4th quadrature and the former laundry, accommodation is planned and an elementary art school is newly built.
