Title: The physical activity of dog-owning persons with a spinal cord injury. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to find out the level of physical activity of persons with a spinal-cord injury who own a dog. This work employs both subjective and objective methods of analysis. A secondary objective is to find out whether dog-owning individuals with a spinal cord injury get enough daily physical activity as recommended by the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines for Adults with Spinal Injury. Method: The research was conducted using a combined qualitative-quantitative method. The sample comprised of five men aged 29-66 years with spinal cord injury (4 quadriplegic and 1 paraplegic). The physical activity was subjectively measured by a semi-structured interview "PARA-SCI." Objective measurement of the physical activity was conducted using an accelerometer ActiGraph GT3X+. Each participant's physical activity was measured for three three days. Results: The average objective physical activity of the participants was 2166.3 minutes, while the average PARA-SCI result was 1558.8 minutes. The difference between these two results is not statistically significant. The participants fulfilled the levels of physical activity as prescribed by the aforementioned guidelines. Belicová, Eliška ; Doležalová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Novotná, Viléma (referee)
Title: Stimulation of strength skills through intervation gymnastic program for people with spinal cord impairment Objectives: The target of the work is to determine the degree of effectiveness of the newly created gymnastic program mediated to probands online, to the level of strength of the upper body and upper limbs of people with spinal cord injury. Methods: The research will be conducted in the form of a quasi-experiment with pre- testing and post-testing measuring. Used data collection methods included field testing, timed 100m dash in a wheelchair and 2kg weight throw and a questionaire. Analysis of found data has been done via descriptive statistics. Results: Results of post-testing showed that upon completion of a six-week interventional program, individuals with spinal cord impairment increased their strength levels in field tests. In the first field test, there was a slight percentage improvement of 5.9%. In the second field test, there was an overall mean percentage improvement of 10.9%. On average, probands improved by 8.4%, a slight to moderate improvement. The questionaires also showed that the trainees enjoyed the provided program. Keywords: Adapted physical activity, condition, exercising, field test, gymnastics, paraplegia, wheelchair

If a significant positive effect is proven, then B) to create an easy-to-implement dancing and movement programme for seniors in institutions with a special regard to seniors suffering of dementia and wheelchair-bound seniors who account for 60%-70% of inhabitants of old people's homes. Besides this, also to verify its efficiency on the health condition of seniors, improvement of quality of life, reduction of healthcare consumption, as well as on improvement of communication between clients and treatment staff. Method: A) The three-year prospective randomised controlled study made use of the method of quantitative and qualitative research. It was using the technique of analysis of questionnaire surveys (both ex-ante and ex-post) of intervention, comparison of development in the intervened and control groups, making of video records and their analysis, semi-structured interviews. Návrh objektu sociálního rehabilitačního centra
Musil, Tomáš
The thesis deals with the design of a wooden building for social care, which can serve for the purposes of social rehabilitation center. The introduction is devoted to the conditions and requirements of operations for rehabilitation of people with disabilities. In the practical part of the thesis there are three variants of the spatial solution of the social rehabilitation center, which differ mainly in the layout of the layout, the ground shape of the building and the type of roof structure. From these alternatives the most suitable solution is chosen according to the set criteria and it is subsequently processed into the drawing documentation. An integral part of the thesis are also calculations of the heat transfer coefficient by the envelope of the building structure, an approximate estimate of the gross building price and an orientation assessment of the fire safety of the building for the given variant.

How dogs can affect physical aktivity of the people with disability
Neubergová, Kristýna ; Migdauová, Alena (advisor) ; Prajerová, Květa (referee)
Title: A dog's impact on the physical activity of persons with a spinal cord injury using orthopaedic wheelchairs Objective: The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate that having had a spinal cord injury, those owning a dog have more physical activity than persons with the same injury who do not own a dog. A secondary objective was to research whether individuals with a spinal cord injury owning a dog get enough daily physical activity as recommended by the World Health Organization. Methods: Qualitative research method was employed for the purpose of this thesis. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview "PARA-SCI." Physical activity was measured by an accelerometer ActiGraph GT3X+ which every participant received in order to measure his or her physical activity. Each participant's physical activity was measured for three weeks. Then, a subjective measurement of the participants' physical activity was conducted by means of a personal interview PARA-SCI. During the interview, each participant's activity was recorded into the PARA-SCI sheets. Next, objective data from the accelerometers were compared with the subjective data from the semi-structured personal interviews PARA-SCI. The focus group for this research was comprised of individuals having had a spinal cord injury. Results:...

Návrh interiéru bytové jednotky pro osobu se sníženou možností pohybu
Hotovec, Jan
This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is focused on the analysis of requirements and principles which need to be followed during the process of designing of barrier free interior suitable for people with limited mobility who use a wheelchair or other compensation tools for their movements. In addition, the research of the market of product availability was done. The other part deals with two designs and visualisation of existing flat unit. The first design is created strictly according to universal requirements on barrier free space. The second one is designed specifically for the demands of the owner with limited mobility. These two designs and its visualisation are completed with the discussion in which there is a comparison of the designs. The final section discusses the evaluation of the application of achieved results in reality
Design of entrance ramp for handicapped people to city buses
Pospíšil, Luděk ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Dvořáček, Jiří (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the design of the automatically controlled ramp for the boarding of physically disabled people in city buses. The initial research section deals with the regulations and directives that must be respected in the design, the issue of wheelchair mobility and the analysis of design considered elements. In the second part the thesis goes to the chosen design solution. The design input parameters are the height of the ramp cassette, the slope of the ramp when boarding and the width of the boarding platform. The platform is extended by a pair of pneumatic cylinders along with a scissor mechanism guided in a linear ball guide. The boarding platform is made of an aluminium honeycomb panel which strength is verified by analytical calculation. At the front edge, the boarding platform is equipped with a pressure-sensitive edge The ramp cassette is made up of a welded frame of steel profiles and subjected to stress strain analysis. The thesis is accompanied by complete drawing documentation.
