Contingency Methods / Hungry eyes and Dog soul / Bind your laces while walking
Svoboda, Jonáš ; Lungová, Barbora (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
The camera, as a creature, wanders through space, takes action. We feel tense, every moment of time. In everything. Dance of particles, screaming in unreal tempo. The spatial properties of the haptic world are given by the composition of a score for particle dance. Free notation for sysyphian eternal soul players. Playing a common song of our time and space. Wave. Space between the particles - emptiness. The shape given by the structure of particle dances. So how can you get it. Radiation, Fuse. This is the erosion of the score, the decomposition of the system. Deacon and cleaners. Treasure hunters. Is space between shapes empty? Slavery is not due to the impoverishment of man, but to his transformation into an instrument. The impoverishment of the film's medium is the transformation of the instrument from the instrument into a human being. From the apparatus - rewriting the environment of three-dimensional shapes to the surface, on the apparatus - the emulation of human experience schemes. From indifference to false experience.
Hollywood
Šprincl, Petr ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
Hollywood is an experimental 8mm film that illustrates the text in a diary of my grandfather. The film is notionally divided into two parts - a "landscape of memories" and "landscape of fear and death". Grandpa here remembers his childhood in Dolní Loučky, which is also associated with the death of his grandfather, friends, that there he had in childhood and last but not least, the place where he wants to become his last rest. In the second part of his character is intertwined with the "landscape of fear" which is filmed near Litvinov, bleak countryside illustrated his concern about a retirement home and a gradual loss of his will to live. He illustratively passes through this country and trying to find his salvation.
Preparation of biodegradable films from PHA copolymers and evaluation of their application potential
Drotárová, Lenka ; Přikryl, Radek (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the production of biodegradable PHA copolymer fims and the subsequent study of their material properties. The main goal of this thesis is to assess the application potential of PHA copolymer films in the biomedical industry. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characterization of polyhydroxyalkanoates and their copolymers, in terms of physical properties, synthesis, biodegradation or PHA producers. The current research in the processing and use of PHA in biomedicine is described in the literature search. The cultivation of bacterial strains of Aneurinibacillus sp. H1 and Cupriavidus necator H16 was done in the experimental part. Different ratios of glycerol and 1,4-butanediol substrates were used during the cultivation of Aneurinibacillus sp. H1, to obtain copolymers of P(3HB-co-4HB) with a different monomer composition. Polymer films were isolated from the obtained biomass by the extraction method and were characterized by GC-FID, FTIR and SEC-MALS methods. Subsequently, copolymer films containing of 65,25 and 43,61 wt. % 4HB and homopolymer PHB film were selected for release experiments. The drugs, ibuprofen and acetylsalicylic acid, were used for release experiments, their release from the polymer film into the physiological solution was monitored by UV-VIS spectroscopy. Based on the obtained data, the application potential of PHA copolymer films as a carrier system in biomedical use was verified.
Revitalization of Film studios in Zlín
Kubačka, Jan ; Kopáčik,, Gabriel (referee) ; Sátora, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with urban study of revitalization of complex of former film studios on an area of approximately three kilometers south of the center of Zlín, in the town district which is called Kudlov. The complex has been constructing since the thirties of the last century, however nowadays it is no longer determined to its original function. In this thesis, the optimalization of current state, the completion of several building and the area expansion of the park on the West are designed. Great emphasis was given on the largest possible multi-functionality, in addition to the main function of living in apartment houses, the area is complemented by commerce, leasable manufacturing facility, an outdoor sport complex and the already mentioned park. The urban concept reflects the traditional urbanism of the city of Zlín, it means a periodical grid of structure and a unity of shapes and materials.

Documentary Approaches in Contemporary Fine Art Moving Image
Bačíková, Alžběta ; PhDr. BcA. Andrea Slováková, Ph.D., MBA (referee) ; Pospiszyl, Tomáš (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
The Dissertation titled Documentary Approaches in Contemporary Fine Art Moving Image focuses on the practical and theoretical research of documentary approaches to videos and films in the art field. It notices especially the self-reflexive strategies as a consequence of critical approach towards the medium itself and lack of belief in its ability to mediate reality or truth. Attempts to convey reality by audiovisual means are accompanied by the reflection of the way this happens. The Dissertation also reflects on the uncertain relation between the documentary and truth, which has been described in art by the artist and theoretician Hito Steyerl. The examined artworks were made in the period between the beginning of 21st century, when the documentary turn was reflected intensively, and the present time. The selection of examples was strongly influenced by the local study of Israeli art in The Video Archive of the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv. Motives of conflict, violence and trauma resonating in studied videos and films influenced further selection and analysis of the authors’ documentary methods from a different context. In the selected works I can see particularly various forms of alienation effects and self-reflexive approaches. Using these procedures the artists highlight the constructedness of the audiovisual work and the way it was produced. Recurring formal principles have been stated. Reenactment of real events, revealing the way the work was produced or the artist’s position in the production process; these strategies indicate the uncertain relationship between the documentary work and reality. In the frame of these tendencies also reevaluation of the observational documentary strategies as something seemingly opposite to self-reflexive strategies is reviewed. Theoretical outcomes are continuously accompanied by author’s own art projects concentrated around the form of documentary portrait and its (de)construction. They experiment with the formal principles analyzed on a theoretical level.
Inside the Surroundings
Ryneš, Zdeněk ; Vojtěchovský, Miloš (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
The topic of this diploma thesis is a form of own personal space which is confronted with scene visuality used in film industry. It is about linking an existing and fictive (illusionary) environment. I can see the cinematographic space as an image of its physical equivalent. I do search for scenes in existing movies, which are charting the interiors of environments, where the movie is being set. I do use the camera moves and the ways of seeing the immediate surroundings as they are used in those scenes and I repeat them in my own private apartment. Screenplay structure comes from my apartment dispositions. The final dual channel video leads the spectactor through two levels of space in the same time.
Visualisation of crime in the Normalization cinema
Škopková, Andrea ; Urban, Michal (advisor) ; Agha, Petr (referee)
67 Visualisation of crime in the Normalization cinema Abstract The thesis deals with the question to what extent and in what way the Czechoslovak Normalisation through state-controlled cinema influenced the portrayal of crime/criminality in crime and detective films. The present work attempts to capture the schemes and boundaries within which the dramaturgy of Czech film genre production moved during the so-called Normalisation. The work is based on comparing available data and studies on real crime with its filmic portrayal. The thesis includes a chapter devoted to interdisciplinary, especially sociological, contexts of researching crime and its reflection in society. Another part of the text includes the historical and legal-historical context of the topic under study and the transformations of criminal law. Together with a description of some selected motifs of the film narratives and with an assessment of the extent to which and in what ways selected criminological topics (e.g. recidivism, the problem of social pathologies) are reflected in contemporary professional literature (or statistics) and film, the thesis illustrates with specific examples the ways in which the ideology of Normalization may manifested itself in film productions primarily for the entertainment of the audience (the public). The...
