Evaluation of Organization Culture for Creating Business Ethics Policy
Šubrtová, Renata ; Toufar, Tomáš (referee) ; Putnová, Anna (advisor)
The thesis deals with a concept of corporate culture as an important supposition of business ethics. In the first theoretical part, based on existing body of literature and research, the issue of corporate culture and its significant impacts on functioning and effectiveness of a particular organization is described. In the empirical part, the corporate culture of a specific organization is analyzed and described using the data obtained from The Denison Organizational Culture Survey (by Denison and Neal). Based on the research results, measures leading to the change of existing corporate culture are suggested.
The research of cause of failure of concrete elements Face Block
Eger, Lukáš ; Husařík, Petr (referee) ; Dufka, Amos (advisor)
This master thesis focus on the analysis of effects that cause defects in concrete blocks. Experiences show that the defect of the blocks are often manifested in the form of cracks. Great rate of occurrence of defects is attributed to volume changes of poor quality concrete filler. The aim of this master thesis is to analyze the finding from the practical use and exploration of the requirements for the actual blocks and especially the concrete filler which is used to make monolithic structures built from these blocks. The attention will be paid to the interaction between the block and the concrete filler. Here we focus mainly on the volume changes caused by a change of moisture level and especially the cyclic moisture.
Improving Consistency in Text Recognition Datasets
Tvarožný, Matúš ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Kišš, Martin (advisor)
This work is concerned with increasing the consistency of datasets for text recognition. This paper describes the problems that cause the inconsistency and then presents solutions to eliminate it. The effect of the properties of the polygons defining the text line boundaries and hence how the modified version of the dataset, which is composed of ideal text line variants, affected the accuracy of the model is investigated. Further, the work focuses on detecting and then removing or modifying text lines whose ground truth transcription does not match the actual text they contain. Experimentation showed that removing the visual inconsistency on the training set did not have a significant effect on the trained model, but modifying the test set improved the OCR accuracy of the model by 1.1\% CER. By modifying the dataset so that it did not contain mutually inconsistent pairs of recognized text and the corresponding ground truth, the model improved by a maximum of only 0.2\% CER after re-training. The main finding of this work is, above all, the proven beneficial effect of removing inconsistencies on test suites, thanks to which it is possible to determine a more realistic error rate of the OCR model.

Maximum likelihood methods; selected problems
Chlubnová, Tereza ; Hlubinka, Daniel (advisor) ; Hlávka, Zdeněk (referee)
Maximum likelihood estimation is one of statistical methods for estimating an unknown parameter. It is often used because of a simple calculation of the estimator and also for characteristics of this estimator, which the method provides under some conditions. In the thesis we prove a consistence of the estimator under conditions of regularity and uniqueness of the root of the likelihood equation. If we add other assumptions we show its asymptotic normality and we expand this result from the one-dimensional parameter to the multi-dimensional parameter. The main result of the thesis lies in exercises, in which we cannot express the maximum likelihood estimator in general, but we can show its existence, uniqueness and asymptotic normality. Moreover we demonstrate the utilization of asymptotic normality of the estimator for asymptotic hypothesis tests and confidence intervals of the parameter. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Integrity measure - test of answers' consistency
Salzerová, Aneta ; Preiss, Marek (advisor) ; Juríčková, Veronika (referee)
The thesis deals with response style in questionnaires and concretely it focused on consistency of responses. In theoretical part the concept of integrity and use of integrity tests is explained. Other chapter deals with credibility, which is closely connected with distortion due to social desirability. In this chapter, relationship with other variables and validation scales are described. Third chapter is reliability of questionnaires, which is influenced by response style, stability across time and consistency of answers. In the end, the cognitive funcitons, which can have an impact on responding in questionnaires are described and relationship between psychopathological symptoms and response style is presented. First of all, in the empirical part, the level of consistency in test of answers' consistency in each category and relationship between integrity test in work place, consistency and other variables were studied. Seconadly, relationship between interference and consistency was studied. Results indicate, that total consistency of answers is different in each category (social desirability, counterproductive behaviour, neutral information, personality). The lowest level of consistency was found in counterproductive behaviour and the highest was in neutral information. The second highest...
Introduction to Nonparametric Methods
Prelecová, Natália ; Kulich, Michal (advisor) ; Navrátil, Radim (referee)
Title: Introduction to Nonparametric Methods Author: Natália Prelecová Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: doc. Mgr. Michal Kulich,Ph.D., Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to introduce basic nonparametric methods. Nonparametric methods embrace a large class of statistical procedures which do not assume specific data distribution such as normal distribution. They often re- present the only available means of examining specific types of data, for example ranks or counts. Weaker assumptions of these methods make them less powerful than their parametric counterparts. This thesis describes in detail four nonparametric tests- the Ordinary Sign Test, the Wilcoxon Signed-rank Test, the Mann-Whitney Test and finally the Two- sample Wilcoxon Test. The structure of their description will entail the following: the formulation of assumptions, null hypothesis and alternatives, the construction of the test statistic and the definition of rejection regions. The most essential prob- lems, such as the problem of ties, will be also covered. The basic characteristics of the Linear Rank Statistics will be also explained, followed by the Two-sample Wilcoxon test. Keywords: nonparametrical, hypothesis, ranks, consistency, statistic
Consistency of answering and change of attitudes
Absolonová, Angelika ; Preiss, Marek (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee)
5 ABSTRACT This bachelor's thesis follows the ongoing doctoral thesis of Mgr. Barbora Balková in the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Klecany. The NIMH research is concerned with broad personality feature as a part of personality traits that can be psychologically meaningful and measurable, and part of the integrity of the personality. My thesis is therefore divided into two parts; theoretical part and empirical part. Theoretical part is concerned with attitudes and their changing, consistency in answering and also with personality traits of an individual. Empirical part is following up to knowledge from the theoretical part and it is concerned with correlations between consistency in answering and changing of attitudes. Another aims of this part in this bachelor's thesis were to find if there is a relation between changing of attitudes and personality trait (Openness) and if there is a relation between consistency in answering and personality trait (Conscientiousness). For measuring my respondent's feedback I used the following methods: personality test BFI-44, attitude scale and method to measure the consistency in answering which was developed by experts in National Institute of Mental Health. The method for measuring of the consistency carried out in this work focused on identifying how the...
Modern Asymptotic Perspectives on Errors-in-variables Modeling
Pešta, Michal
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Mathematics and Physics ABSTRACT OF DOCTORAL THESIS Michal Pešta MODERN ASYMPTOTIC PERSPECTIVES ON ERRORS-IN-VARIABLES MODELING A linear regression model, where covariates and a response are subject to errors, is considered in this thesis. For so-called errors-in-variables (EIV) model, suitable error structures are proposed, various unknown parameter estimation techniques are performed, and recent algebraic and statistical results are summarized. An extension of the total least squares (TLS) estimate in the EIV model-the EIV estimate-is in- vented. Its invariant (with respect to scale) and equivariant (with respect to the covariates' rotation, to the change of covariates direction, and to the interchange of covariates) properties are derived. Moreover, it is shown that the EIV estimate coincides with any unitarily invariant penalizing solution to the EIV problem. It is demonstrated that the asymptotic normality of the EIV estimate is computationally useless for a construction of confidence intervals or hypothesis testing. A proper bootstrap procedure is constructed to overcome such an issue. The validity of the bootstrap technique is proved. A simulation study and a real data example assure of its appropriateness. Strong and uniformly strong mixing errors are taken...
