Resumé The topic of this master thesis is selected issues of an adoption (comparative fragments). I chose not to deal with the theme as a whole because of its extent, which would have inevitably lead to mere scratch of the surface of such complex issue as an adoption. Picking and choosing some interesting aspects enabled me to go more into detail and elaborate on them in depth. When approaching this thesis I chose to use combination of analytic and comparative method. The thesis itself is composed of the introduction, six chapters and the conclusion. The purpose of the Introduction is to make the reader aware of the structure of the thesis and to outline the complicated legal nature of adoption. The objective of this thesis, which is also announced within this section, is to provide the reader with issues not usually dealt with within theses or academic works. Chapter One is divided into three parts and subsequently shed light into the concept of the adoption, its types and sources of the legislative. Chapter Two is dedicated to historical excursion and is divided into two parts. The bachelor thesis on the topic of "Substitute Family Education" deals with the issue of foster care in the Czech Republic. This thesis investigates the family, its irreplaceable role in educating individuals, the history of foster care, the foster care system in the Czech Republic, legislation, the definition of various forms of foster care, foster parents, adoptive parents and non-profit organizations providing foster care - SOS Villages. The aim of the thesis is to become familiar with the issue of foster care in the Czech Republic, to clarify the rules for placing children in foster families, to point out some problems of children that come with foster care using the case of three foster families, and assess its importance and necessity for children and society.

The diploma thesis is concerned about the theme of psychological pregnancy of foster parents. The main focus of diploma thesis was map the motivation, expectations and experiences of future foster parents. The diploma thesis was divided to two main parts, theoretic part and practical part. The theoretic part reported summary of information about parenthood, alternative family care, experiences of pregnancy and experiences of expectation a child future foster parents. Practical part was concentrared on motivation and expectations of applicants foster parents. Qualitative research, method of interview was used. Registered Partnership and its Legal Consequences in Relation to Alternative Family Care

This thesis deals with the issue of two today very important institutes, namely the registered partnership and the alternative family care. The aim of the thesis is to focus on areas where the two institutes overlap. Current registered partnership legislation contains some problematic provisions in relation to forms of alternative family care. The text of the thesis has focused on the description of these problem areas and try to outline possible future changes even in the context of the situation on the international level.
Attitudes towards Homosexuality in Relation to Adoption of Children in Society Today

The aim of the work is to explore attitude of society to homosexuality in connection with potential children adoption. The first part of the thesis is aimed at defining the term of homosexuality, clarifying its origins and summarizing its history. There are also described attitude changes in present society in connection with homosexual emancipation. Attention is devoted to the fact, how it is reflected in attitudes of society in working and school environment and also in context of friendly relationships. The last part of the thesis is devoted to topic of homoparentality, what is children upbringing by homosexual partners. Discussed is also potential influence of parents' sexual orientation when children are raised by gay or lesbian couple. Issues of adoption of children from institutional care, a child adoption by the other partner and foster care are also studied. Results of the research, whose aim was to map attitude of humanist and technical oriented men and women to non-heterosexuality and possible child adoption by homosexual families, are presented in the second part of the thesis.
