Trends in payment systems

The aim of this thesis, Trends in Payment System, is to describe and map out the forms of modern payment methods. The theoretical part deals with the evolution and current trends in modern payment methods, basic description of relevant technologies, hardware development, and issues connected with the security of the used methods and services. The practical part analyzes the payment methods used in the Czech Republic and the extent of their use among Czech citizens. The data used for the analysis were collected in a survey by questionnaire containing 17 questions. The answers from 947 respondents were processed to create the profile of a Czech user using the stated payment methods. The data obtained in the practical part also served as the basis for a comparison of the practical use of new payment methods by Czech citizens and by the citizens of a given developed world economy, in this case, the United States of America. The obtained data and their comparison with a study published in the United States ("2014 Consumer Payments Study" by TSYS?) provide evidence of a high standard of the Czech user in the area of modern technologies, and it can be stated that in the environment of new technologies and payment methods, the Czech Republic bears comparison with the world's most advanced countries.
Analysis of transactional client behavior after the introduction of contactless cards

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out how the client's transactional behavior changed after the introduction of the contactless card. The thesis presents a theoretical basis for understanding the topic of banking and payment cards, its legal regulations and history. The transaction data for the monitored period are obtained for analysis. This data is cleared of influences that distort the findings. Then, using descriptive statistics of time series, the development of these data is monitored. The thesis presents interviews about transaction behavior of individual persons according to client typology. The work resulted in transactional behavior of clients being affected by the introduction of contactless cards, by making more frequent payments at lower amounts than in contact cards.

The Organized Crime

This study characterizes one of the most serious forms of organized crime in the Czech Republic, namely counterfeiting of means of payment, focusing on the issue of credit card fraud and skimming. It deals with various types of credit cards, legal and technical aspects of their protection, and economic aspects in terms of damage incurred and liability of caused damage. The thesis evaluates the risk of skimming in the Czech Republic, describes various methods of attack, and provides advice and recommendations related to the defence against this illegal activity.
Pay Cards and Their Utilization in The Czech Republic

The goal of my bachelor work is the analysis of utilization of pay cards in the Czech Republic with the aim to identify the most advantageous product for a client. The partial goal of the work is general characterization of pay cards. The work is divided into two principal parts. The first part is a literary exploration of history and evolution of pay cards in the world and in the Czech Republic. In this part there is also a general characteristic of cards, definition of their types according to different criteria and options for their use. The second part deals with the task of analysing utilization of pay cards in the Czech Republic to eventually find the best product for predefined clientele. To attain this goal, questionnaires were distributed. Acquired data were transferred into graphs, tables and short commentaries. Lastly, the questionnaire outcome, from which was determined the target age group (age group 15-26 years) and specific orientation for the following comparison of chosen pay cards. We can conclude from this analysis, that for the age group 15-26 years is the most advantageous product the pay card form UniCredit Bank that belongs to U konto pro mladé. This pay card allows unlimited withdrawals from ATMs in the whole Czech Republic and in foreign countries for free. Moreover, this debit card is designed for all young people between 15-26, because you do not need to produce student´s certificate, as required by other banks.

The aim of the thesis "Payment systems and protocols - analysis, simulation, verification" is overview of payment systems in the Czech Republic, in EU, in USA and in Japan. The first part is concentrated on legislation, the second is dedicated to payment systems, the third is dedicated to payment protocols, their characteristics, used technology and security elements. Comparison of particular payment systems and of particular payment protocols is part of this work too. Thesis is also concentrated on security elements.

Payment card systems

The work is about payment card systems. We’d like to describe infrastructure of credit cards, ATMs, POS terminals , focusing on the EMV standard. In theoretical part we will be introduced with the history and development of credit cards, ATMs and POS terminals. Then we focus on a detailed description of payments terminals and possibilities of payment via the Internet. The most extensive theoretical part deals width EMV standard. In practical part we will make our own program, which authenticates the user based on his credit card and it will allow the user to login in the system. Source codes of this application can be found on enclosed CD.
Cyber risk of cashless and electronic payments

The author of this bachelor thesis deals with the present phenomenon, namely cyber risk narrowed to the field of payments. The subject of this thesis is to present comprehensive and understandable information about this phenomenon with the accent on defining vulnerable points to cyber risk connected with payments. At the same time, it should recommend steps to reduce the cyber risk and show how other users do so. A survey research is a part of this thesis and it analyses the awareness of society in this field. Last but not least it shows real cases of the cyber-crime.
Analysis of payment instruments and system in Czech republic

Thesis deals with analysis of payment instruments and systems in Czech republic during online shopping and how czech residents perceive them. In the first part is defined e-commerce and jurisdiction of payment systems. Then e-wallets (Paypal, Skrill and Czech alternative PaySec) are described. After that thesis deals with payment buttons and closely related payment agregators(PayU, Agmo, GoPay). Subsequently aquiring of credit cards is delineated. Last section of theoretical part of thesis deals with new method - payments with mobile phones (Mobito, MasterCard Mobile. In second part of thesis - practical part, there is analysed (with the help of primary survey and other provide surveys) actual situation of relation of czech residents to electronic payment instruments and systems focusing on which method are they using while shopping online and how they perceive security of this systems and instruments.
