The Role of a Key Worker in Process Accompaniment of a Foster Family

The diploma thesis is focused on the role of a key worker of non-state non-profit organizations whose job description is accompaniment of foster families. The aim of the thesis is based on research and on available literary and sources presenting the role of a key worker in overall process accompaniment of foster families, introduce key points of the relationship between the client and the social worker. The research which is part of the diploma thesis was realized by a qualitative method using a semi-structured interview. The diploma thesis deals with a relatively new role of the key worker who accompanies the foster family and thus opens an interesting space for exploration.
Cooperation of foster parents, accompanying organizations and Department of social and legal protection of children on the performance of foster care

This thesis deals with the cooperation of foster parents, Department of social and legal protection of children and accompanying organizations on the performance of foster care. The thesis contains both theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis contains four chapters. It is based on an analysis of professional sources. The first chapter deals with the definition of basic concepts, legislative definition and a brief historical outline in the field of alternative family care. The second chapter focuses on the specifics of foster care with regard to the needs of children coming to foster families, defines the rights and obligations of foster parents and foster care benefits. The third chapter contains a basic description of social and legal protection of children in the Czech Republic and defines the role of the Department of social and legal protection of children in the context of foster care. The core of the chapter is the process of mediation of foster care. The fourth chapter describes the work of accompanying organizations and key workers. Education of foster parents

This thesis deals with foster care and fosters parent education. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate whether foster carers are satisfied with the topics offered and the length of the mandatory continuing education. A sub-objective of the thesis is to describe the biggest problems of children in foster care related to school and school preparation and to highlight these problems by creating a case study. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters and is based on a study of the literature. The first chapter deals with the general topic of foster care and the application for foster care. The second chapter focuses more on the foster carer himself and his preparation. The third chapter focuses on the foster carers' training and the accompanying organizations. The fourth chapter deals with the characteristics of children in foster care and their school and educational problems. The practical section focuses on the research itself. Services provided to Foster Families

This bachelor thesis deals with the services provided to foster families in Prague and South Moravia. The theoretical part is devoted to general information about foster family care and its history. It also focuses on organizations that provide services to foster families. The practical part is elaborated from data obtained through qualitative research. The interviews were conducted with foster mothers from the capital city of Prague and the South Moravian Region, and based on these interviews, the experiences of foster mothers with the services provided to such families in the Czech Republic are analyzed. The research results show that organizations designed to help foster families provide these services, but in practice, they do not work as they should. It also shows that the preparation for foster care takes, on average, around three years.
Foster care for a transitional period

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of foster care for a temporary period in the Czech Republic. It is an alternative to long-term foster care, which has only been developing in recent years. Its pitfalls include breaking the emotional bond that a child has with a foster family, an insufficient number of foster families, and the associated insufficient motivation to perform a foster care for a temporary period or the inability of foster parents to work with a biological family. Motivational factors of foster parents

Foster care is currently a topic that arouses certain controversy in society, which often stems from ignorance of this type of alternative family care. In the diploma thesis, with the help of the analysis, the domestic system of substitute family care was comprehensively described with a focus on foster care. This system was subsequently compared with foreign systems. The work also deals with the identification of the main motivational factors that are essential for the performance of foster care. To find out important information about the motivational factors of foster care, the method of a questionnaire survey was used, which was conducted with foster parents and also with persons without experience with foster care. The questionnaire survey with foster parents showed that the main motivating factor for foster parents is selfless help for children in institutional care. The questionnaire survey with people without experience with foster care showed that their motivation for foster care would be stimulated by helping children in institutional care and efforts to provide family facilities for such children. 7 Anotace v cizím jazyce Annotation This bachelor work deals with foster care in the Czech Republic. I tried to approach not only history itself but also performance of foster care nowadays. In the first part, the basic terms used in this field are explained as well as important historical moments regarding foster care. Description of different forms and kinds of foster care is also included. Second part describes mediation and fosterage itself. Duties and discretions of foster parents including outline of child care benefits are also implicated, as amended by Act no. 359/1999 Sb, social - legal child protection. Final part shows course of foster care itself in one family from my close connection who brought up 2 children. The final parts of this chapter evaluates the importance of foster care in the society including experience of real foster parents in application on valid legislation. Long-term foster care from the perspective of selected foster parents

This bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of long-term foster care in the Czech Republic, from the perspective of foster parents, who are an important part of the form of substitute family care. The work is classically divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the work defines the substitute family care, mainly foster care with a focus on the long-term type, and explains the important aspects and concepts related to the given care are explained. In practical part, we can find an outline of the research, which is aimed at interpreting the identified data, we got thanks to structured interviews created with selected foster parents and comparing them, including a subsequent summary of the main findings briefly recorded in the results of this work. The main objective of this research and overall my bachelor's thesis is to gather up-to-date information on the whole issue of long-term foster care, from the perspective of the actors of long-term foster care, more precisely foster parents. Relevant sources from book publications and internet sources of the issue were used to identify the necessary information during the whole cration of the work, including the mentioned structured interviews with selected foster parents.
