The Insides of the Town: Under Ground. Interpretation at school.
Vídršperková, Michaela ; Špirk, Ivan (advisor) ; Pfeiffer, Jan (referee)
Vnitřnosti města: pod zemí. Školní interpretace ABSTRACT My diploma thesis deals with subterranean spaces, the insides of a town. It focuses on selected types of a town underground which are described. These types include cellars (common house cellars as well as that of public historical places), a canalization system, metro, catacombs, adits and military underground spaces. I concentrate on the subject through contexts of phenomenology, history, archaeology, literature, and visual arts. The aim of the thesis is mapping subterranean places, trying to find their aspects and using them for a didactic transformation. I try to conceive that by studying the literature as well as by a practical research: I visit several underground places of a different kind. The selected places consist of the personage cellar in Bezděz, the Cemetry church of all Saints in Sedlec - Ossuary, the Corpus Christi Chapel in Kutná Hora, the Old Wastewater Treatment Plant in Bubeneč and the construction tunnel of metro line D in Pankrác. The didactic part transforms basic findings into a number of lessons. These are carried out in a school and out- of-school background. The aim of the didactic project is introducing the topic in its basic forms (mainly cellar, canalization and metro) to the pupils. Hopefully, this can lead them to...
Analysing fertility developments in selected European countries between 1970 and 2014 using alternative methods
Vachuška, Jakub ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Analysing fertility developments in selected European countries between 1970 and 2014 using alternative methods Abstract Transversal fertility indices as the total fertility rate are distorted by tempo effect when timing of childbearing is changing. New indices as the tempo-adjusted total fertility rate remove this distortion and give another perspective on fertility trends in countries with present tempo effect. These countries are former Eastern Bloc countries and other European countries. This thesis uses the tempo-adjusted total fertility rate and data from Human Fertility Database to describe tempo distortion in fertility level in Sweden, Norway, Czechia, Slovakia, Estonia and Lithuania in period 1970-2014. A more detailed analysis by parity in Sweden and Czechia is conducted in the same period. Negative tempo effect has been present from 1970s in Sweden and Norway and then from 90s in the countries left with fertility postponement being very widespread. The tempo effect level in Sweden and Czechia was substantial at parity one and diminishing with higher parities. Keywords: fertility, timing, level, postponement, adjusted total fertility rate, tempo effect Number of characters without blank spaces: 138 653
Acoustic emissions of buildings
Smažinka, Josef ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with acoustics with the main focus on acoustic emissions of buildings. The first part of the thesis aims to familiarize the reader with the field of acoustics as a whole. They will learn the basic concepts, quantities and relations that exist in acoustics. In the second part I focus specifically on the sources of noise in buildings and their surroundings, how can excessive noise affect health, what standards must be met and how to prevent excessive noise. The last part is devoted to practical measurements in the field, which is focused on real sources of noise in the city of Brno. The aim of this measurement is to compare the noise generated by buildings with other noises in the urban environment.

Analysis of advertising in Czech PC gaming magazines 1998 - 215
Dovole, David ; Vlasák, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Švelch, Jaroslav (referee)
In my work I analyze advertising income in computer gaming magazines Score and Level from August 1998 to January 2015. I find this topic interesting for two reasons: first, I was a longtime reader of both these magazines and second, I worked in one of them for quite a time. My work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I will try to describe the economic situation accompanying the period under review, including the global economic crisis of 2008-2009. I will try to summarize its origin and impacts on the Czech economy as well as the history of gaming journalism in the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis I try to analyze by means of qualitative - quantitative analysis the advertising income in both monitored magazines during the monitored period. Based on the outcomes of this analysis, I will try to draw a context with which it would be possible to evaluate the approach of both magazines to the impacts of the economic crisis and to determine which of them managed to deal better with the crisis.
