The theme of my work is particular latin school in Kutna Hora, which is situated near the church of St. James. The earliest mention about Kutna Hora school dates back to the 14th century. During the Hussite wars, there were two fires in the town (1422 and 1424), probably fires hit also the school. The school fell into disrepair for many years. Big construction works at the school took place at the end of 16th century. Benefactors helped a lot with funds, especially one of the richest Kutna Hora businessman, Zikmund Kozel. In the years between 1594 and 1595, the new Renaissance building was built. Charming Renaissance elements can still be seen, for example, on the marble portal from Prague stonemason. Amazing source of this event is a construction diary, which shows the construction of Kutna Hora school, we can find it in the archive of Kutna Hora. Additionally, the constructional historical research is also available. Kříž, Tomáš ; Fialová, Dana (advisor) ; Špaček, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the impacts of tourism on the historical centre of Kutna Hora. Several methods have been used to reach this aim. The statistical data has been analysed in order to develop an idea about the city and calculate measurable indicators of tourism influence. The main part of the thesis consists of the identification of tourist function in the historical centre, by mapping the current functions of houses and analysis of the accompanying effects of the touristification. Observation of the daily rhythm of the centre enriches the research with the composition of its users and the time dimension. The quality of site management and the impacts of tourism connected with the World Heritage List inscription are examined by evaluating targets of the management plan and exploration of UNESCO monitoring reports. Interviews with local residents of Kutna Hora investigate their own attitudes towards tourism in their town and verify the acquired findings. Keywords: Kutna Hora, impacts of tourism, touristification, tourist function, daily rhythm, historical centre, UNESCO

Personality, Work and Afterlife Abstract On the basis of archival sources and relevant secondary literature, the thesis explores the life of Mikuláš Dačický of Heslov, one of the best-known Czech historical figures of the latter half of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century. The work focuses on the social, political, economic, administrative, and religious circumstances in the royal city of Kutná Hora, with which Dačický's life was closely related. With a view to preserved period sources, it outlines and recapitulates the accessible information about the famous swashbuckler, rioter, ruffian, killer, and drunkard who was also a prolific chronicler, poet, an ardently religious armorial burgher with unswayable moral views, and an 'eyewitness to the Czech Renaissance'. The found facts are contrasted with the 'second life' (afterlife) of Mikuláš Dačický of Heslov which was provided for him by the novelists and dramatists of the 19th and 20th century. His character, and especially his temperament outraged the citizens of Kutná Hora and inspired many modern authors of plays and TV dramas, novels, film scripts, and musical works for the stage (operetta, opera, and musical). In the field of food industry and restaurant culture, some interesting examples of his name being...
