Speech therapy intervention in institutional education

The diploma thesis on the topic "Speech therapy intervention in institutional education" deals with the issue of implementation of speech therapy intervention for children growing up in institutional education and requiring speech therapy. The individual chapters of the theoretical part focus on speech and its functions; describe the ontogenetic development of speech, impaired communication ability, and briefly characterise different types of impairment. The theoretical part deals with the speech therapy intervention in its entirety, i.e. diagnostics, therapy, and prevention. It also includes a short insight into the speech therapy intervention system in other countries. Lastly, the theoretical part of the work focuses on the area of substitute educational care and describes its influence on the development of the child. The practical part aimed to find out information about the implementation of speech therapy in selected institutional education facilities in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. Effective speech therapy counseling in the treatment of developmental dysphasia and its use across disciplines

The master thesis deals with alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities. It defines the theoretical foundations of disability, more specifically combined disability. It also describes the communication of people with combined disabilities and explains concepts such as communication, impaired communication skills or speech therapy intervention for people with combined disabilities. Its disadvantages relate more to alternative and augmentative communication, in which it describes in more detail the methods and systems, diagnostic aspects, training of use or its advantages and benefits. The main purpose of this work is to describe the use of alternative and augmentative communication in the everyday life of adults with combined disabilities, especially in everyday activities and also in the possibility of expressing their needs and feelings. The research survey took place in two phases, in the first phase case studies of adults with combined disabilities were prepared and in the second phase participatory observation and direct work with individual persons was carried out. At the end of the work, the benefits of alternative and augmentative communication in adults with combined disabilities are characterized.
Education of a child with impaired communication abilities in elementary school ordinary type

The thesis deals with the education of children with communication problems at a regular primary school. The theoretical part describes the ontogenetic development of speech, speech disorders and language planes. The second chapter deals with communication and impaired communication capability. There is also a subchapter on autism, Asperger's syndrome, developmental dysphasia and the principles of communication with children with the above disadvantage. The concepts of alternative and augmentative communication, the concept of inclusion with its legislative framework and development after 1989, where the Framework's educational plan and the brief characteristics of the educational field Czech Language and Mathematics are mentioned, are also explained here. The practical part describes first-class coping in children with autism, developmental dysphasia and Asperger's syndrome. Especially the coping of mathematics and the Czech language. There are elaborate case studies and interviews with teachers who led these children in first class. In conclusion, several recommendations for pedagogical practice are made.
.Impaired Communication Ability in Premature Infants

This Master's thesis deals with the topic of impaired communication skills in premature infants. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters devoted to the development of children's speech, premature babies and care for premature babies. The first chapter describes speech and language, the ontogenetic development of speech, language levels in the ontogenesis of speech and impairment of communication skills in childhood. The second chapter defines a premature baby and discusses the most common postpartum complications. The third chapter is devoted to the care of premature babies in the Czech Republic, describes the logopaedic care regarding such children and their prognosis. The practical part is based on the methods of qualitative research. A triangulation of research methods was chosen - document analysis, observation and interview. The main goal was to describe how impaired communication skills are manifested in premature infants. The partial goal was to find out what postpartum complications occur in premature infants. Speech therapy for dyslalia in first graders

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Speech therapy for dyslalia in first-graders" is from the field of special pedagogy. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of communication skills in children of younger school age. It focuses on the speech therapy issues of dyslalia and the associated postponement of school attendance. The theoretical part of the work includes the definition of basic terms associated with the field of speech therapy, impaired communication skills, dyslalia described in more detail and finally summarized the basic aspects for the child's entry into school. The practical part includes qualitative research. The aim of the practical part of the work is the analysis of the issue of dyslalia in first graders after a year's postponement of school attendance. The form of case studies for the monitored group of children was used for the elaboration of the research survey. Analysis of communication ability of a pupil with elective mutism

The diploma thesis named Analysis of communication ability of a pupil with elective mutism, deals with the issue of communication of a girl with elective mutism. The teoretical part is based on a thorough analysis of literature and electronic sources. The introdictory chapter acquaints us with the development of communication and communication skills, the psychological development of the child, then defines the issue of impaired communication skills is childhood. The second chapter is devoted to mutism. It elaborates not only its terminological definition, etiology, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis, but also the issue of a pupil with elective mutism at school and principles of communication with this child. The third chapter deals with nonverbal communication, especially in connection with children's expressions. In this part are elaborated all components of non-verbal communication - kinesics (gestures, facial expressions, haptics); posture; proxemics and paralinguistic. The fourth chapter is the empirical part. This chapter describes the methodology of the research.
