Expulsion of Aliens on National Security Grounds in the Context of International and European law
Válková, Zuzana ; Ondřej, Jan (referee) ; Honusková, Věra (referee)
This study deals with the expulsion of aliens in modern international and European law. I have focused on the particular ground for the expulsion, i. e. national security, in the context of the States' obligations under some selected international human rights instruments and the relevant European law. National security is one of the generally accepted grounds for the expulsion of aliens, but the content of this term is not strictly defined. As a consequence of this lack of clarity national security may be abused by States. I focused on such abuse in the process of expulsion when States use the exception of national security as a reason for not allowing aliens to benefit from the procedural guarantees provided by international law. There have been two kinds of abuse of the national security term with respect to the procedural rights of the expelled persons found in this study. First, States expel aliens forthwith without giving them the opportunity to submit reasons against their expulsion or have their case reviewed by a competent authority also in cases when the exception of national security is indefensible. Second, the national security interest restricts the effectiveness of the appeal proceedings in cases when the domestic legislative does not permit the expelled persons to be informed about...

Czech Periodical Press in Region off Cheb in Years 1945
Dlouhá, Petra ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Krejcar, Robert (referee)
The main aim of my diploma thesis is to capture the development of the periodic press in Cheb after the end of the Second World War. It is a period which brought extensive demographic and socio-economic changes to Czechoslovakia and especially the border regions. That is why this topic must be set in a wider context. At the beginning, I describe the history of the Cheb region, which, from its earliest history, had a distinct position within our country. I also researched the general issue of Czech-German relations after the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic. A chapter in the thesis deals specifically with what happened during the Second World War in Cheb. The main emphasis is however on the first months in the Cheb region after the war. The reason for this is that it was a period of essential reversal in Cheb. Everything that used to be German was now to become Czech. It was essential for the newcomers to receive information in their mother tongue. The core of the thesis is the development of the Czech regional press in the Cheb region. In the year 1945 there only was a single journal published in Cheb - Chebsko. My thesis will present this journal, which first came out shortly after the end of the Second World War. I will also make a quantitative analysis of the first publishing...

Kudryová, Michaela ; Hořák, Jaromír (advisor) ; Gřivna, Tomáš (referee)
Resumé (Aj) Domestic violence - in particular, criminological and criminal aspects The domestic violence is a significant societal problem which requires the attention of every state. But this opinion did not prevail in history. Although the domestic violence appeared across all social strata and historical periods, it was viewed as private problem of the family. In the Czech Republic the domestic violence has started to be considered as a public affair in last years. Nowadays the state guarantees especially a protection to victims of domestic violence. The legal order of the Czech Republic contains several acts affecting the domestic violence. The regulation of this phenomenon can be found in both private and public law. The aim of my thesis is to provide an integrated view to the domestic violence issue focusing on criminological and criminal aspects. This thesis is divided into eight chapters. First I tried to define a fundamental characteristics of domestic violence, then I turned my attention to the victimilogy and mainly to victims of domestic violence and impacts of the violence on their psyche. Third chapter is devoted to the Domestic Violence Act, which contains in particular legislation relating to expulsion as a protective instrument against domestic violence or introduces intervention centers....
