Řepková, Andrea ; Jirků, Jan (advisor) ; Trunečka, Ondřej (referee)
The diploma thesis Comparison of Approaches to Online Formats in Selected Czech Media Depending on Corporate Convergence deals with the question of how the approach of selected Czech daily newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes, Deník Právo and Hospodářské noviny to their associated online news servers differs. Since the chosen media share a common characteristic, which is their originally purely print format, the author first describes the concept of media convergence, the process of media internetisation, explains the concept of digitalisation and the economic principles of media. As part of the research, the author first conducts a content analysis of texts published in the print versions of the media, which she then searches for on a news server and compars. The author also conducts three semi-structured interviews with representatives of the selected media. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the situation is different in each of the media, both in most of the categories of content analysis examined and in the functioning of the newsrooms themselves. The genre which does not properly belong to either fiction or non-fiction has been growing in popularity in recent years, yet it is still a vague term for many. Subsequently, it also provides a theoretical basis for the loss of a loved one using professional publications. In the second part of the thesis, the focus is on an interpretation of selected works - Ganbare! Workshops on Dying (2016, translated in 2017) by Katarzyna Boni, Like Eating a Stone (2002, translated in 2017) by Wojciech Tochman and Two Sisters (2016, translated in 2018) by Åsne Seierstad concentrating on the concept of loss of loved ones, and finally the thesis is devoted to a mutual comparison of three reportages to demonstrate the way of writing about the loss of a beloved person.
Analysis of the use of social sites as a key communication tool of the Czech Athletic Federation and their's change over time
Kolář, Adam ; Turková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Chladová, Marta (referee)
In my diploma thesis, I deal with social networks - specifically the social networks of the Czech Athletic Federation. It uses them as one of his main communication channels. Several quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the research. The main goal of the resarch was to compare social sites of the Czech Athletics Federation in 2019 and 2022. It was found that the main goal of the Czech Athletic Federation remains the same in the long term - to inform about the results of Czech athletes. Otherwise, however, social networks have undergone a transformation. The biggest difference over the years can be found in Instagram Stories, which the Federation has taken care of and significantly improved them over that three years. Media routines have also changed. Czech Athletics Federation tried to not be outdated, which is why a TikTok account was made and Instagram Reels were regularly created. The biggest failing can be seen in posts on Instagram, which practically copied Facebook. Overall, however, the year-on-year change on social networks can be seen positively, with which corresponds the growth of fans.

Preventivní opatření ke snižování prevalence anémie v důsledku nedostatečné výživy - porovnání strategií Egypta a Afghánistánu
Coufalová, Andrea
Coufalová, A., Preventive measures to reduce the prevalence of anemia due to insufficient nutrition – a comparison of Egypt and Afghanistan strategies. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno. Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, 2022. The thesis is based on a comparison of strategies to reduce the prevalence of anemia due to insufficient nutrition in two developing countries where the occurrence of anemia is a significant problem. Nutritional anemia currently represents a major problem of food security, which is caused primarily by the intake of food insufficient to cover the daily need for vitamins and minerals. More specifically, it was Egypt and Afghanistan, with each country trying to reduce the incidence of nutritional anemia in a different way. The comparison of the strategies of the two selected countries was based on the results of data available on the official websites of both individual countries and international institutions. The economic level was also compared to the possibility of comparing strategies and justifying causal ones. The strategy to reduce the prevalence of anemia in Egypt was found to be more successful than the strategy implemented in Afghanistan. The reason for these results was the different socio-economic level of the two countries, the political situation and other investigated factors that have an incalculable impact on nutrition. Fortification of basic food, which is a suitable tool to reduce nutritional anemia in the lower strata of the population and was successful in Egypt, cannot be implemented in developing countries in which a strong role of the state apparatus to promote long-term strategic goals does not work.
