Moravian wine centre Brno
Vojtěšek, Jiří ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The city of Brno has always been a center of Moravian wine. The new draft of wine center responds to this reality and represents the grandeur of wineries in its full glory. Respect for nature, love for traditions and love for order/system are the main aspects of the design. The proposal is essentially open to the public, however, the necessary modesty is preserved. Conversely taciturnity of production part of buliding holds the secrets of the deep traditions of Viticulture and Enology. Designed buildings are used for production, wine storage, administration associated with the production, tasting and selling wine, conferences, accommodation and, finally, wellness and other activities. The size of the building is the result of an optimal design that does not interfere with nearby historical buildings. The emphasis is on minimizing costs both during construction and during operation. Flor plan shape resembling the letter L is oriented towards the west courtyard. This raises a unique viticultural area court with a wide staircase. The amphitheater can be used for seasonal exhibitions, pilgrimages or feast of local entertainment. The yard is connected with the street Hlinky, which paraphrases the historic entrance portals into winecellars. The northern part of the building bites into the ground and connects the original winecellars with new facilities. Small narrow windows reflects the desired taciturnity, just as it was with winecellars in South Moravia for centuries.

Multigenerational Coexistence / Happy Living in a Castle
Habancová, Anežka ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Previously, the bulk of the population lived in rural areas. The whole family lived there together in the family house on the same property. Young helped the elderly and old to their offspring, with households with children, with the economy. With the advent of industrialization and mobilization, many young people moved into the cities, to work, to the newly constructed blocks of residential houses, which were rather less than they could live with a large extended family. Mutual cooperation was suddenly far away. The town has more people, more jobs and more older people, which the state took care of them - homes for the elderly - retirees concentration in one place, without daily contact with young, with family. Thanks to good quality of health care older people is increasing and this problem is must be solved. The country has still semi-detached houses and multigenerational houses, where the family lived with grandparents, but in the city is hard to find to buy or rent two apartments near each other. The main concept of my work is to create a semi-detached flats, flats with common vestibule, which connects one smaller and one larger apartment. Use the castle for this principle is more than appropriate - will be returned the housing for the family and each of generation finds in the castle grounds space for their activities or employment. This area still remains open to inhabitant of the city and offer them new possibilities for leisure (restaurants and an amphitheater).
The Restoration of the Former Zlín County Court
Gebhardt, Tomáš ; Blažková, Vendula (referee) ; Myslín, Jiří (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the former court building in Zlín. It is the second oldest structure in the city, situated at the crossroads of the streets Bartošova and Soudní, next to a park. It is not only located in the geographical center of the city, but also the at the confluence of the most frequented routes leading to shopping centers, transportation hubs, university buildings, etc. Unfortunately, the building intersects the park and interrupts its clear boundaries. The vicinity is abundant with public spaces, which, aside from Gahura’s prospect, are mostly unpopular, thanks to their unsuitable design and absence of necessary facilities. The design attempts to turn the building into a facility of the park – a café, public toilets and an interesting public space. The park’s boundaries are sealed with the new building of an open-air cinema. The corner of the streets is improved by the much-needed parterre, including a new lawn which creates a natural border of the park. This space is also used as an entrance to the underground parking lot and the main entrance to the open-air cinema. Further, there is a new cube-shaped four-storey extension to the building which contains a new staircase and necessary sanitation rooms. The extension is designed so that it doesn’t undermine the dominance of the court building itself, and presents itself in an inferior manner. The design keeps in mind the original façade and expression of the building, including the shape and slope of the roofs. The parking lot is moved from in front of the building under the new open-air cinema, to clear up the parterre and make it more representative.

Žvak, Ondřej ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Hrabec, Josef (advisor)
The main target was to create a new hall for 600 people. I tried to make a multifunctional hall which can be used as a theathre or a place for exhibition, balls etc. The apearence of the building is influenced by lack of space. The building was designed in minimalistic style. Facade reacts to historical setting. The building is composed from three mutually displaced blocks. Interier is also in minimalistic style. I used light colours and limited number of materials.
Porta Coeli complex - new use of selected objects
Ovsak, Artem ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The subject of the master's thesis was the development of an architectural study and proposal for the new utilization of historical buildings in the Porta Coeli complex in Předklášteří near Tišnov. The complex consists of several buildings, but the focus of the work was on the key ones. Currently, three sisters reside in the monastery, utilizing the first and second quadratures and having access to the monastery garden. The third quadrature is used by volunteer groups who assist in the maintenance of the monastery and occasionally contribute to the production of local products such as must, preserves, and honey. One floor of this quadrature has already been reconstructed. In the future, the space of the former laundry is planned to be utilized as accommodation for employees, with a change in its function to a production area being implemented as part of the project. The former sheepfold will be transformed into a multifunctional space intended for various types of events. Currently serving as a sawmill, it is economically most advantageous for the monastery council. The reconstructed former granary will have accommodation functions, and its location near the water increases its attractiveness and generates investment interest in its reconstruction. The design also includes the placement of an amphitheater on the slope next to the granary and sheepfold. The utilization concept shows that these two structures will be closely interconnected, and the amphitheater, along with the modified space, will serve as a meeting place for various events, such as weddings, conferences, or celebrations. An important aspect is that the shape of the amphitheater will follow the slope, helping to perceive the space, surroundings, and allowing visitors an uninterrupted view of nature. As part of the work, an extension to the second quadrature was also proposed, intended to serve the staff of a future rehabilitation center. The concept focuses on utilizing the second quadrature as a rehabilitation center for athletes and ordinary visitors. The center includes short-term accommodation, a dining area, medical offices, and facilities for the staff. The connection with nature, peaceful location, and aesthetic and mental harmony contribute to the faster recovery of visitors. The former carriage house is currently used as sanitary facilities, while most of the building remains unused. Preliminary plans consider its future use either as a smaller production space or as a storage facility for the purposes of the museum and the monastery. An extensive intervention in the restoration of the forecourt of the former sheepfold will be carried out. Various elements will be placed here, such as a labyrinth and other recreational zones. The design also included modifications to the outdoor space, the creation of new parking capacities, and reinforced surfaces.

Steel structure of the amphitheater
Bobek, Tomáš ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Štrba, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and structural assessment of the steel structure of the amphitheater in Proseč. The dimensions of a floor plan are 55x45 m and the height is 13,605 m. The structure consists of three primary trusses, the distance between them is 27,5 m. The trusses are pin supported by columns. The primary trusses are connected by five secondary trusses, which bear tertiary trusses and at the same time form the longitudinal stiffening of the structure. The secondary trusses are connected by transverse tertiary trusses, which are used for anchoring the roof sheathing. The spatial rigidity of the structure is ensured by roof wind stiffeners and longitudinal struts. The roof is clad with SATJAM trapezoidal sheets. The structure is based on deep foundations.
Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Nováková, Lucie ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of a cycling stadium - velodrome in the Pisárky district in Brno for TJ Favorit Brno. The existing velodrome is located southwest on the edge of the Brno Exhibition Center on Křížovského Street. The Velodrome no longer meets the current requirements of track cycling, but it is historically valuable and has its genius loci. The new 250 m long wooden bike track (together with other parameters of the International Cycling Union) and its associated sports grounds are "inserted" into the existing velodrome, which is modified and reconstructed according to requirements. The grandstands have been preserved. The built-in building with a new track is then completely roofed, creating an enclosed space. As part of the stadium reconstruction, a new facility was also created for TJ Favorit Brno from a modular container system; These are changing rooms for athletes, administrative areas, and facilities for visiting clubs and athletes and IP areas. The container construction system for sports facilities is very practical, economical, fast, environmentally friendly, variable, and flexible to the current requirements of a constantly evolving sport. The Anteroom and ground floor in the southern part of the existing velodrome is equipped with services for the public: a cafe, souvenir shop, cash register, information center, service, and a bicycle and sports equipment store. The new track with grandstands is covered with ETFE foil anchored to new lattice trusses, which are connected to the existing roof.
