Case study of physioterapy treatment of a patient with the fracture of the distal radius
Krejčíčková, Monika ; Kozáková, Alena (advisor) ; Holländerová, Dita (referee)
Title: Case study of physioterapy treatment of a patient with the fracture of the distal radius Objectives: The goal of this thesis is to summerize theoretical and practical informaticion about fracture of distal radius, to peruse sources of this problems, proposing therapy and monitor its progress. Includes detailed case studies patient with a fracture of the distal radius. Methodics: The literature search and the case study of this issue was proceeded within the practical experience (from 9th January 2012 to 3rd February 2012) in Oblastní nemocnice Kladno (Regional hospital Kladno). The first part of the work is concerned with the theoretical knowledge of anatomy and functional kinesiology of antebrachium and hand. Then describes the fractures of the distal antebrachium, their treatment and physiotherapeutic methods and examinations. The second part contains the case report which refers to the patient with the fracture of the distal radius, the treatment, the therapy and the pursuance of the curative effect. Results: During the therapy, there was reduce swelling, pain reduction, effects of reflex changes, restore the joint play, increasing joint range, stretching shortened muscules and increase musce strenght in the right upper extremity. Keywords: antebrachium, raduis, accident, fracture,...
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a pacient after Colles fracture of the left.
Štokrová, Lenka ; Žáková, Hana (advisor) ; Slezáková, Petra (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a pacient after Colles fracture of the left. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge regarding fracture of distal radius, create case study and record of rehabilitation care of patient with Colles' fracture. Method: This thesis has been made during a continuous work experience in a Movement Apparatus Treatment Center in Prague, Vysočany. This thesis is divided into two parts, the general part and a detailed case report. The general part summarizes theoretical knowledge including anatomy, kinesiology, traumatology and therapy following fractures of a distal radius. The detailed case report is describing a patient after Colles' fracture that has been treated conservatively. Key words: Colles fracture, wrist fractures, distal radius, physiotherapy.
Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament
Pešlová, Kateřina ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the influence of the chosen method of reconstruction and subsequent physiotherapy on the final status of the patient. And also if the group physiotherapy is the ideal therapeutic approach. Methods: In quantitative research the numerical analysis of the data was performed. Comparison of individual groups was performed simply through finding the frequency distribution of individual characters. Evaluated were the basic sets A (patients operated on by Bone - Tendon - Bone method, BTB) and B (patients operated on by hamstring graft method, STG). Both sets were assessed using the input and the output kinesiological analysis. The resulting values of the variables in each category (individual examinations in the input and output kinesiological analysis) were compared with each other. The statistical significance of observed differences was tested using the x2 (chi square) test at the significance level of p < 0.05. Results: It was determined that the selected surgical method (BTB and STG) has an effect on certain parameters evaluated in the input rated kinesiological analysis. These parameters in the majority of examinations performed at the...
The use of biofeedback for stability training in patients with degenerative cerebellar disease
Stránská, Lenka ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Jaroslav (referee)
The graduation thesis deals with the issue of balance disorders due to a cerebellar damage. It deals in detail with the treatment of patients suffering from degenerative cerebellar ataxia and with the use of biofeedback technologies as means of postural stability treatment. The aim of practical part of this work was to investigate the effectiveness of therapy using biofeedback for patients suffering from progressive ataxia due to cerebellar neurodegeneration. The research sample consisted of 8 patients. The patients underwent a total of 18 therapy sessions within a twelve-day rehabilitative program. The therapy contained a training of stability in various positions with the elimination of visual control. A device provided an additive information about head sways for the patients via a tongue electrotactile stimulation. The effects were assessed by means of posturography, functional clinical tests (BESTest, Dynamic Gait Index) and questionnaires (Activities-specific Balance Confidence Scale, Dizziness Handicap Inventory). Three assessments were performed: immediately before, immediately after, and 30 days after the rehabilitative program. A statistical analysis of the data showed significant improvement in all observed parameters. In addition, there was no loss of the benefits in the interval of 30...
Specific foot changes in figure skaters and options for their physiotherapeutic intervention
Brabencová, Hana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title of diploma thesis: Specific foot changes in figure skaters and options for their physiotherapeutic intervention. Objective: The purpose of this thesis is to research available literary sources concerning anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of foot and foot arch in relation to specific foot changes resulting from figure skating. In addition, the thesis seeks to research various physiotherapeutic approaches which could be applied in prevention, compesation or therapy of these changes. Methods: This diploma thesis has descriptively-analytical character. It is structured in the form of literary research. Results: On the basis of the researched literary sources, this thesis provides a comprehensive picture on the topic of foot in figure skaters. Based on the research, the thesis identifies foot changes resulting from deformation of the foot in the skate. Subsequently, the thesis discussess the possible physiotherapeutic approaches which can be applied in prevention, compensation or therapy of these changes. Key words: foot, figure skating, flatfoot, physiotherapy
Application of inertial sensors in physiotherapy
Doležalová, Eva ; Sládková, Petra (advisor) ; Oborná, Pavlína (referee)
OF BACHELOR THESIS: Author's first name and surname: Eva Doležalová Bachelor thesis supervizor: MUDr. Bc. Petra Sládková Bachelor thesis consultant: Mgr. Štěpánka Kozlerová Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: Application of inertial sensors in physiotherapy Key words: inertial sensors, fyzioterapie, accelerometr, gyroskop, functional independence measures, neurorehabilitation Abstract: Inertial sensors are devices that allow monitoring of the movement. They are used also in physiotherapy, where they are applied to analyze walking and to detect falls. My bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of using inertial sensors for monitoring patients affected by upper extremity. The theoretical part contains an outline of chosen foreign studies that deal with this issue. The second part is about theoretical neurorehabilitation, which is an important part of treatment for patients after brain damage. The practical part is processed in the form of quantitative research. The aim was to obtain and correlate the values obtained before and after the rehabilitation process. It was a total daily activity of upper limbs, which was measured by inertial sensors and the results of functional independence measures (FIM).
