Product Information Management - the fortune hidden in product data
Bort, Tomáš ; Slánský, David (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
The exceeding supply over demand and very hard competitive conditions are nowadays the main features of the majority of sectors. A successful company is the one that is able to satisfy specific customers' needs, the one that has efficient cooperation with its suppliers throughout the whole supply chain and also the one that is able to speed up the in-house information exchange. Thus the company has to seek constantly new and innovative solutions. This is not possible without standardization and automatization of business processes. This master's thesis is dedicated to one of the possible solutions -- the Product Information Management (PIM). Since it is intended for business managers (without deep IT knowledge), at the beginning it answers the question why it is so important to know master data and to manage it. It specializes in managing product data, brings its comprehensive overview and identifies the advantages and drawbacks of the implementation as well as financial and organizational impacts. The consecutive chapter deals with simplified yet applicable approach to data management analysis (with emphasis on the PIM) and based on research, it mentions main mistakes of the implementation. In addition to the overview of main vendors of the PIM solution, it presents the latest trends in the PIM. Besides internal data synchronization, the thesis analyses several product standards -- the fundamental step towards external data synchronization, the key topic of the practical part. The whole thesis is conceived to provide an organization with a simple yet compact and therefore very effective tool for master product data insight and thus to help it to gain a competitive advantage.

Renčová, Pavlína ; Kališová, Libuše (advisor) ; Hrnko, Petr (referee)
Benefibra is a food supplement, produced by company Novartis s.r.o., which was launched onto the pharmaceutical market 3 years ago. Althought so many Print campaigns, TV campaigns and other marketing activities have been organised, Benefibra's launch wasn't a great success. The main goal of my thesis is the analysis of Benefibra marketing mix, to find reasons of the unsuccesfull launch onto the Czech market and to suggest changes in marketing mix, that would lead to reach goals, which company Novartis has determined during launching of Benefibra on the czech market in September 2006.

The Economic Potential of Existing eHealth Systems in the Czech Republic
Bruthans, Jan ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee) ; Večeř, Jan (referee)
The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the contemporary area of information technologies employed in health care (eHealth). Focusing on the systems already employed in the Czech Republic, it aims to analyse them, to quantify expenditures of their introduction and maximum benefits derived from these, as well as to evaluate their real current profit. Out of the three existing national systems, this dissertation concentrates on the two only (eRecept, ePACS), as it became impossible to evaluate the third -- IZIP system due to scarcity of the relevant information available. In the field of expenditures not only generally published numbers are taken into consideration, but this dissertation also evaluates the expenditures of other subjects involved (IT systems producers, health care providers, etc.). As the first dissertation in the Czech Republic it quantifies benefits derived from the existing eHealth systems and unlike foreign theses it greatly emphasizes just the expenditures of other subjects involved. Included in this dissertation is also the evaluation of achievements of the eHealth systems in the Czech Republic complete with supposed grounds for this situation. This dissertation also recommends courses of action for contractors of these systems to ensure future basis for more economical and successful eHealth systems. These recommendations are mainly based on analysis of development of the existing national eHealth systems. For the complex evaluation of the costs, maximum of possible and real benefit of the individual eHealth systems the research approach adopted in this dissertation includes descriptive method and SWOT analysis, extrapolation and abstraction, comparative and factor analysis.

The dissertation is devoted to the introduction process of changes in the directing of nursing care in the pilot program of the Continual increasing of the quality in the neurological department of the Regional hospital in Kolin, a.s. In the preamble of my magister work, I deal with theoretical informations, which are very important for understanding of the processus of the changes in practice. I generally deal with the quality of the health care and with the models how to direct the quality of the health care. I compare if there is a difference in the protests of the staff against the changes in the health care and in some industry branches. The theoretical part of my work is concentrated to the quality model of the Continual increasing, to the problems in its introduction into practice and to the barriers against its realisation in practice. The practical part of my work is devoted to the methods of diagnostics of the organisation, which were used in the process of the direction of the changes. The main part of the work is in the analysis of the situation, which has become the starting point for the direction of the changes in the nursing care. The work is illustrating the individual steps, which were necessary to be made for the realisation of the organisation and Continual increasing program vision. It...

Czech grammar schools, their students and teachers, 1867-1918
Řezníčková, Kateřina ; Hlavačka, Milan (advisor) ; Lenderová, Milena (referee) ; Rýdl, Karel (referee)
This thesis examines the development, character and routine of an ordinary day of Czech middle schools. The first chapter outlines the changes in middle school education throughout the 'long' 19th Century. The summary of these changes begins at the end of the 18th Century, the time of the educational reforrns introduced by Maria Theresa and Joseph II, and is followed by a brief summary of the changes in the first half of the 19th Century. Detailed research has been done into the history of middle schools, from 1848 (from Bonitz-Exner Outline, a fundamental document which influenced changes in the educational system for many years) until the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The main focus is on the period from 1867; this year was the catalyst for the major development of Czech middle schools. Briefly mentioned are the changes and restrictions caused by the First World War; there is also a section dedicated to middle school education for girls. The second chapter concentrates on specific areas of middle school education, such as: who studied, and on what terrns; programmes of study; the curriculum of individua! subjects. The structure of the school year and the daily school time-table is also examined. Detailed study has been made of marking and the context and demands of final exams. Furtherrnore,...

Free banking and 'wild cat banking'

Reduction of radiation exposure by the use of the fluoroscopic spinal navigation system during the transpedicular screw placement of the lumbal spine.
ŠRŮTKOVÁ, Eva
RADIATION EXPOSURE REDUCTION BY THE USE OF FLUOROSCOPIC NAVIGATION IN TRANSPEDICULAR INSTRUMENTATION OF THE LUMBAR SPINE SUMMARY The topic of this thesis is a comparison of radiation exposure during standard fluoroscopy and navigated transpedicular instrumentation of the lumbar spine, in compliance with standard techniques and accuracy of screw placement. Material and the Method: A group of 60 patients, divided into two equal groups, was statistically processed. In the first group 1.9 lumbar spine segments were stabilized. The patients´ average age was 60.8 years (from 35 to 75 years). Screws were inserted transpedicularly under the X-ray image intensifier navigation. In the second group stabilization of 1.8 segments was performed on average. The average age was 61.1 years (from 38 to 75 years). The screws were inserted postoperatively by using 2D fluoroscopic navigation technique (VectorVision, BrainLAB, Germany). The duration of skiascopy was collected from the X-ray image intensifier and recorded for each surgery (with navigation and without). The measured values were compared with each other. In both groups the screw positioning was checked continuously according to the rules defined by Learch, Acikbas and Whitecloud in the anteroposterior and lateral projection by meticulous pedicle palpation Results: The radiation exposure was calculated to one vertebra (2 screws) in both groups. In the second (navigated) group the radiation exposure time was significantly shorter (3.4 s) than in the first (standard) group (14.4 s). The mean duration of data registration was 6.0 minutes (range 3 to 11 minutes). The mean ratio according to Acikbas's calculation method was 43.2 % (range 32 % to 74 %) in the first group and 44.1% (range 35% - 76%) in the second group. The mean exposure dose of the first group was 243 ?G/m2 and 138 ?G/m2 in the second group. Exposition doses are smaller by 105 ?G/m2 in the second group Conclusion: Based on the results, the hypothesis that navigation allows the same accuracy of pedicle screws insertion while reducing radiation exposure of the patients and the operating room staff to about ? can be confirmed. This reduction is more pronounced in multiple-level spinal stabilizations and in the centers for spinal surgeries, where numerous spinal instrumentations are performed every day.

Equivalence in the health insurance
Bišof, Milan ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
This dissertation considers the issue of equivalence and the related matter of solidarity in the health insurance sector. The used methodology is an analysis on the basis of which the specific causes of the current state of the healthcare system are investigated. The initial chapters focus on the theoretical basis and insurance principles in general, and then health insurance in more detail. The individual systems (models) of healthcare, which are compared with the aim of finding the optimum method of financing the healthcare sector, are then described. The analytical section looks at the current state of healthcare in the Czech Republic and the main problems it faces: an ageing population and constantly rising healthcare costs, which are slowly becoming uncontrollable. Healthcare reform, which began on 1 January 2008 with the introduction of regulation fees, is also evaluated. A great deal of attention is paid to fees because the legality of their introduction is being settled by the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. In conclusion, the author outlines a healthcare system that would be, in his opinion, more financially manageable, and just more equitable and fair.

The Proposition of an Incentive System as an Instrument for Efficiency Improvement of the Development Process and the Process of Implementation of the New Enterprise System VRPIS
Spišáková, Tereza ; Kubálková, Markéta (advisor) ; Koubalíková, Jitka (referee)
This thesis aims to improve the efficiency of the development process and the process of implementation of the newly established enterprise information system VRPIS by designing and creating an incentive system. The proposition and creation of the incentive system is based on the experiences gained during the pilot application of VRPIS system into the company Confal, a.s. The theoretical part focuses on enterprise information systems, their implementation into corporate environment, possible problems that might occur during this process, as well as incentive systems. The practical part follows the theoretical knowledge and focuses on the creation of the new incentive system and motivational tools, which are designed particularly for participants of the VRPIS implementation process. The incentive system 3L is based on the results received from the measurement of participants´ level of motivation during the three stages of implementation process. Moreover, it shares the philosophy of VRPIS system, which intends to conform to the conditions and needs of its customers. Furthermore, 3L incentive system will be generalized for the needs of the other applications.
