Creativity and Creative Industries: Redefinition of Economy and Culture
Kubaš, Mario ; Patočka, Jiří (advisor) ; Riedlbauch, Václav (referee) ; Kloudová, Věra (referee)
A dissertation entitled Creativity and Creative industries: Redefinition of Culture and Creativity presents a current paradigmatic shift, deep-rooted in 80th . The study is divided into three main parts. First one analyses a change of paradigm using a cultural, economic and psychological approach. The second part employing a cultural statistics method describes the changes in a cultural consumption and participation. The final part proposes two possible scenarios of a future position of a mainstream cultural production. In the introductory part an author delineates four main reasons of the ongoing paradigmatic shift: the radical change of a geopolitical situation in the break of 80th and 90th causing the democracy a liberalism expansion; an intellectual migration in 90th provoking an increasing concurrence among the educational institutions; a digital revolution redefining the communication principles and their space-time dimension, being at the same time a part of an economic revolution consisting in an enhancing trade of intangible goods; a growing interest in cultural and creative goods becoming a nourishment of current paradigmatic shift. These processes are resulting in a concept of culture and creative industries which represent a new kind of symbiosis between culture and economy. The study...

Investigation of deformation behaviour of aluminium foam under high-strain rate loading and comparison with conventional energy absorbing material
Zlámal, P. ; Fíla, Tomáš ; Jiroušek, O. ; Králík, V.
The aim of this study is proper description of stress-strain behaviour of the metal foam structure Alporas under high-strain rate loading. Stress-strain response of Alporas specimens is measured during an impact test using a drop tower experiment. Strain of the specimens is evaluated by two independent approaches: i) double numerical integration of acceleration data and ii) digital image correlation technique. Thus, experimental setup is equipped with triaxial accelerometer and high speed camera. Resulting stress-strain curves are compared with behaviour of polystyrene material samples (polystyrene material is commonly used as a shock absorber) obtained from the same testing procedure and with stress-strain function determined from Alporas quasi-static compression testing.

Consumer protection in the European Union
Vyleťalová, Tereza ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Hnát, Pavel (referee)
This thesis is focused on consumer protection in the European Union with a special emphasis on online shopping. The first section defines the term 'consumer protection', its development, institutional support, instruments and financing. Also, this part describes the digital market of the European Union, hindrances to the growth of online shopping as well as strategies which are created in order to form a digital single market in the European Union. The second section focuses on protection of personal data, alternative dispute resolutions, current legislation regarding consumers rights on internet and new proposals from the European Commission. The new proposals dominate the second part of this thesis and are discussed with an expert. A survey has been conducted to find out more about the Czech experience with problem solving when shopping online. Moreover, this thesis does not leave out court orders from the European Union´s Court of Justice which have led to the uniform application and interpretation of the consumer protection in the European Union.

Digital marketing of animal shelters.
Fuchsa, David ; Vondra, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Horný, Stanislav (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to create a concept of digital communication for nonprofit organisations like animal shelters. These organisations struggle with lack of money, people and capacity and do not utilize the potential of digital marketing. The proposed strategy should help them to mitigate the impact of those problems and also to fulfill the objectives of the organisation at a minimal budget.

The vibrodiagnostic system VDS-UT2 for the investigation of a tram wheel operational vibration and deformation
Pešek, Luděk ; Vaněk, František ; Balda, Miroslav ; Procházka, Pavel ; Vaněk, Petr ; Cibulka, Jan ; Bula, Vítězslav
The system consists of both measuring, acquisition and processing tools for monitoring of tram wheel and wheel set operational parameters,e.g.static and dynamic deformation, displacement, velocity, acceleration and temperature. The measuring on the rotating wheel is realized both by telemetric and by time difference system. Measured data can be remote observed via internet connection with the control PC. Tha acquisition system by Starmans s.r.o provides continuous analog and digital data collection. The control PC processes digital logical signals and evaluates time intervals representing circumferential turning angles between disk and rim. In the contribution the diagnostic system is described and the measured data with damage analysis are presented.

Optimal digital terrain model for erosion analysis
Středová, Kamila ; Brychta, Jiří (advisor) ; Rejha, Vít (referee)
The thesis deals with the question of using available sources of elevation data for the evaluation of topographic factor in estimating the amount of water erosion in the area. Work compares the results with consideration to the origin of the data, the accuracy and resolution of the digital terrain model, which is interpolated from the source data. The calculation of topographic factor in ArcGIS will be confronted with the results of the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The frequency of compliance will tell us which data source and digital terrain model resolution is the most suitable for determining the topographic factor.

ProArc - Open Source Solutions for Digital Documents Production and Archiving
Nezbedová, Martina
ProArc – the production and archiving system is freely available tool for producing and editing descriptive, technical and administrative metadata to digitized and born digital documents. The system allows you to create import data for the Kramerius system. One of the outputs are PSP packages created according to NDK standards of the National Library. ProArc system has been developed by the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in collaboration with INCAD, which provides programming and analytical work. Since 2013, when the system was fully deployed in the Digitalization Centre of the Academy of Sciences Library, more than 400,000 pages of different types of documents have been processed . Currently, the system is also being implemented in other institutions. The archive section is being developed that will allow connection to the Archivematica system. ProArc will be presented from the perspective of the processor. ProArc system is one of the outputs of the Czech Digital Library project. The aim of the project is to create a single interface of digital libraries in the Czech Republic for end users and to provide data for international projects. The project is funded by the NAKI programme of the Ministry of Culture.

The Czech Digital Library - aggregation and dissemination of digital content from the Czech libraries
Lhoták, Martin
The goal of the Czech Digital Library is to aggregate content of digital libraries in the Czech Republic. It serves both as a common interface for end users and as a primary national data provider for other national and international projects, especially for Europeana and for the Central portal of the Czech libraries - KNIHOVNY.CZ. Tools to support complex digitization processes which include production, workflow monitoring, dissemination and archiving are developed as an open source in the frame of the project. The software solution for digital library - Kramerius system - is used in more than 30 libraries in the Czech Republic and provides access to tens of millions digital objects. ProArc - system compatible with national and international standards is used in several libraries for digital document production. With regard to the archival part of the solution, standards for long term archiving, such as the OAIS model, are implemented in cooperation with Archivematica system.
