Impact of Media Partnership on the Content of Film Reviws

The diploma thesis Impact of Media Partnership on the Content of Film Reviews explores the relation between the content of film reviews in Czech press and media partnership. The first part, which is based on researches, briefly describes the development of the cultural journalism oriented on the cinematography in the Czech setting and analyses the issues theoretically. Than the diploma thesis examines the approach of Czech professional journalists and considers the limits of personal subjectivity of respective journalists and the ethics of Czech press. In the second part, which focuses on the analysis, the author chose two national journals and two national weekly magazines and analyzed the reviews of films, which were in media partnership with the journals or weekly magazines. She compared the attitude of media partners with others journals - either press or electronic. The analysis covers the period from 2007 to 2010 and allows not only comparison between the journalists or the media, but also between the selected years.
The comparison of selected film reviews and users'comments in česko-slovenské filmové databáze

The bachelor thesis named "The comparison of selected film reviews and users' comments in Česko-Slovenská filmová databázeˮ deals with the analysis of the form of the current internet film review. First part of the thesis is devoted to the characteristic of the publicist genres of review and commentary, which are subsequently compared to the present. As representatives of internet media publishing film reviews were chosen three portals with different target groups, namely Aktuálně.cz, MovieZone and FFFILM. Selected reviews of these media are compared to users' comments in Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze, which currently has become key website for film fans. This thesis focuses on formal, content and stylistic differences between published texts and users' comments, but also compares portals publishing review in these aspects. Also, the review quality of each website and the advantage of opinion diversity in Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze are taken into consideration. According to these criteria, the conclusion of the thesis assesses the benefit of reviews and comments to readers and potential film viewers.
A2 - fortnightly cultural magazine and its way for actual topics in the year 2011

The Bachelor thesis "A2 - a fortnightly cultural magazine and its way towards the actual topics in 2011" is trying to comprehensively describe the seventh year of the A2's existence, especially the key values of its gatekeeping. The quantified textual patterns of the magazine are based on quantitative research of the whole year and imply expectations about the specific journalistic genres. Similarly, the proportionality between the two major sections of the cultural magazine - artistic creations and social issues and development - are described alongside with the most frequent contributors and the prerequisites for their work as cultural publicists. The following qualitative research analyzes the issues focused on cultural criticism or artistic profession (specifically issues 3 - The magazines about literature elsewhere, 12 - Popculture monsters, 18 - Cultural journalism and 23 - Profession: artist). The thesis is trying to reveal the key values for choosing the covered topics and how A2 uses the genre of essay, which is often the key part of particular issues. Apart from that, the thesis seeks common features of the coverage of specific artworks in the magazine compared to other Czech media. Comparison of book reviews in pravo and mf dnes in 2002,2006 and 2010 and their impact on readership

A purpose of the Bachelor Thesis Comparison of book reviews in Právo and MF Dnes in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and their impact on readership is to describe and compare literary reviews in two different journals; thereafter to try to identify their influence on the marketability of books. It summarizes the available evidence on the issue of reviews and literary critique in the theoretical part and it also mentions the reading culture and reading surveys. It compares the reviews published in the selected press in the practical part. The content analysis describes this issue first and as second the comparison with the books' titles sales rank, as it is published on Union of Czech booksellers and publishers website. On the base of this comparison, this thesis tries to define the influence of the review in daily newspapers to books sale, and if the readers are influenced by either the positive, or negative review.
Efficacy of physiotherapeutic interventions in stroke patients with pusher and neglect syndrome

TITLE Efficacy of physiotherapeutic interventions in stroke patients with pusher and neglect syndrome. OBJECTIVES The aim of the thesis is to summarise current literature concerning two peculiar phenomena following stroke - pusher syndrome and neglect. Furthermore the work focuses on evaluation of efficacy of physiotherapeutic interventions. METHODS The thesis represents a critical review of a literature and it consists of three parts. The first one summarize issues concerning the pusher syndrome and neglect in general. In a special part you can find a detailed description of physiotherapeutic methods that are widely used in a rehabilitation treatment of these two neuronal symptoms. This work is concluded by evaluating results of effects of the therapeutic interventions that are discussed with respect to the future research. RESULTS Up till now there are no clinical trials concerning efficiacy of physiotherapeutic methods in a treatment of a pusher syndrome. The similar situation seems to be in case of a neglect syndrome as number of available clinical trials testing the efficiacy of physiotherapeutic techniques is very limited. Zhe Scuk.cz Project: user-generated content from the perspective of quality control and creators' motivation. Case study

This Master degree thesis deals with content quality regulation and motivation to participate in the Scuk.cz project - web server dedicated to reviews of restaurants and other culinary venues. The server represents a specific case of user-generated content (UGC) whose content comes from closed community of reviewers chosen among non-professional food lovers by the server's founder. Aim of this thesis is to describe this filtration and regulation process as well as the qualitative criteria applied to reviewers and reviews, both from the point of view of administrators and community members. It uses the theory of reputation systems as well as Carpentier's more dynamic concept of quality as the ever-changing result of democratic negotiations (in the context of community media, as Scuk.cz can be to a certain extent). Motivations for participation are explained with Bourdieu's concepts of social and cultural capital and their later derivations. Empirical part of the study is based on qualitative interviews with administrators and 11 community members and following thematical analysis. Biological and related theories of aggression and its humoral regulation

Aggression is a phenomenon which acquired a substantial share on attention of biological literature, especially since the beginning of 20th century. In this thesis, various approaches to the problem from the field of biology are summarized. Intensified attention is dedicated to the theoretical concepts of aggression, especially the concepts consulting the problem of aggression from the evolutionary point of view and to the research on the field of hormonal regulation of aggression, stressing out the role of the hormone testosterone, and to particular hypothesis, which take account on its mutual relationship with behavior. The empirical part of the thesis is dedicated to verification of premises of the challenge hypothesis according to the relationship between testosterone and aggressive behavior. Significant findings of the empirical part refer to the existence of a link between basal level of testosterone and aggressive tendencies and to the existence of a negative link between basal level of testosterone and its increase in reaction to a competitive situation.
Critique of adventure comics from anglo-american authors in czech magazines and newspapers (2000-2010)

The bachelor thesis analyzes critiques and reviews of Anglo-American comic books which were published in the Czech Republic between years 2000 and 2010. The reviews were found in Czech culture and social magazines - Host, Týden, Ikarie and newspapers Lidové noviny. The examination is based upon books about literary critique and comics. Criteria which should be involved in every review are also stated there. They are: describing the story of the comics and the main characters, describing the drawing style and judging the comics upon the intention of their author. One part of work analyzes reviews about each comics From Hell and Watchmen alone. Reviews about comics Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, Sandman:Dream Country and Oskar Ed are analyzed together and compared with one another. There is also a comparison of reviews about comics with reviews about films based upon the comic books. Conclusion of this work is how the Czech critics see the famous Anglo-American comic books and if there are any critiques of a high quality at all in Czech periodicals.

The present thesis deals with three volumes of Listy, review for arts and philosophy, edited by Jindřich Chalupecký and, subsequently, co-edited by Jan Grossman and the undisclosed editorial board, published in 1946-48 first as a quarterly, later as a monthly. The main focus of the thesis is on the description of single issues, their analysis, outline of the articles and general depiction of the goals the editorial board attempted to fulfill. Furthermore, the thesis analyzes the contemporary literary context and the place of Listy within it. The thesis also includes the review's annotated bibliography with the author and subject indexes.
