Restoration of the renaissance town hall in Hostěradice
Tulis, Zdeněk ; Muroň, Ivo (referee) ; Ležatka, Lukáš (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to prepare project documentation for building permits and construction implementation based on an architectural study, which was created within the course BGA036 - Atelier of Monuments Restoration. The subject of the study was the restoration of the listed Renaissance town hall in Hostěradice, which had lost its original purpose as an administrative building and is now waiting for a new use. The bachelor's thesis of the restoration of the town hall in Hostěradice is based on the requirements of the building owner, the analyses carried out on the site and the spatial limits that the building and the area under consideration allow. Based on this input, a concept is developed that combines historical and modern building layers into a coherent solution and brings new cultural and social life to the building. The use of the Town Hall premises are designed with the size and needs of the community in mind. The proposed spaces are multifunctional and will allow for a variety of indoor and outdoor cultural events. Commercially rentable studios and service spaces including sanitary facilities are also part of the solution. The bachelor's thesis also includes a focus on the urban context of the town hall, improving the building's structural and technical performance and achieving a unified expression of the building using modern elements. The town hall aims to become a cultural centre of the village that retains its historical value.
Effect of surface finish on degradation of wood-based structural board due to influence of moisture
Kratochvílová, Erika ; Schmid, Pavel (referee) ; Petro,, Marek (referee) ; Šlanhof, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this dissertation is the optimisation of surface finishes for application to oriented strand board (OSB) in order to increase its moisture resistance. This is a summary of research focused on experimental verification that the application of surface finish could have significant influence on reducing thickness swelling, increasing weight of OSB due to water absorption and slowing down the rise of water in OSB. There was also verified if application of surface finishes only on the cutting edges could significantly affect the penetration of water into the OSB board. Some of used test methods were based on European technical standards, but were modified in order to determine influence of surface finishes in the long term. Alternative test method was also designed and implemented. The essence of this test method was to determine how high the water can rise in OSB. The research covered 8 different types of surface finishes available on the market. The selected finishes did not require any special treatments to be applied to the surface of the OSB itself. Based on the results, a mutual comparison and evaluation of their effects was carried out.
Difuzní vlastnosti OSB desek v důsledku zasažení nadměrnou vlhkostí.
Žižková, Lucie ; Vertal', Marián (referee) ; Chybík, Josef (referee) ; Bečkovský, David (advisor)
The presented dissertation focuses on the change of diffusion properties in oriented strand board (OSB) panels after exposure to excessive moisture. OSB panels undergo a change in their diffusion properties after being affected by excessive moisture and subsequently dried, causing them to deviate from the original design of the wooden wall structure. The aim of this study is to describe the experimentally measured change in diffusion properties and incorporate it into the composition of a real wooden wall structure, evaluating its performance through computer simulation. The introduction of the dissertation provides the theoretical basis for the experimental section, which includes measurements of water absorption, diffusion properties, and the risk of mold growth. The experimental section describes the approaches and methods used to achieve the objectives of the dissertation. The measurements were conducted on test samples of OSB panels in the laboratories of the Institute of Civil Engineering. After being exposed to excessive moisture, the test samples were dried using two drying methods. The dried test samples were placed in testing assemblies, where diffusion was measured using the dry cup method. The measurements were carried out in two stages, with more than 80 samples measured in each research stage. In the final part, the measurements are evaluated through graphs. The change in diffusion properties was then incorporated into the composition of a real wooden wall structure and assessed using computer simulation, which is more commonly used in practice according to ČSN 73 0540 (Czech Technical Standard).
Possibility of using EMW radiation for killing biotic pests
Gintar, Jan ; Klečka,, Tomáš (referee) ; Pěnčík, Jan (referee) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The remediation of building elements and structures in terms of moisture and sterilization (inactivation) of biotic pests is dealt with quite often in construction practice and in the construction industry itself, and is thus a topical issue. The issue is dealt with by specialized companies that know the use of available technology on the market, or are themselves involved in the development and improvement of these devices. Several methods are known for the removal of moisture and sterilization of biotic pests, with sufficiently high-quality data on the technology used, the suitability of the equipment used, a more detailed description of the application of the methods themselves and the results themselves. The methods themselves, for removing moisture and eliminating (inactivating) biotic pests, must be chosen according to individual requirements, as some methods will be more appropriate (more effective) and some less suitable. For the practice itself, however, it is important that the methods are sufficiently effective and at the same time available to the wider public (their economic side). In my dissertation thesis I focus on the potential of EMW radiation utilization not only for liquidation of biotic pests (fungi, fungi, wood decaying insects), but also elimination or reduction of necessary conditions for survival or development of these biotic pests. Therefore, my work also focuses on the presence of moisture, because moisture is a common factor in the vast majority of problems associated with the occurrence of biotic pests. Due to its intensity, it is one of the less time-consuming method and therefore a more cost-effective (economically) method. The research I conducted at VUT FAST focused on the use of microwave radiation in the control of biotic pests, under conditions that are close to those on real constructions. The use of a microwave method to eliminate biotic pests and at the same time to remove moisture has proved to be advantageous.
Temperature and gas leak sensor for caravan
Indrák, Dominik ; Urbanec, Tomáš (referee) ; Frýza, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deal with develop, manufacture and programming of device (choice suitable components, design and manufacture of printed circuit board, write controlling firmware for MCU), which will measure dangerous gases LPG, temperature and humidity in caravans for the company Cutter Systems spol. s.r.o. The radio frequency 863-870 MHz, eventually asynchronous communication UART is used for communication and sending measurement data. In the next section will be describe the develop of the hardware with a device enclosure and firmware writing.
Development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe
Trýska, Tomáš ; Musil, Vladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe and allow it to move, measure the working values and transmit the video stream from IP camera to the computer. Camera itself can be also remotely tilted by a small servo motor. The bathyscaphe is controlled through a simple computer program.

The diploma thesis deals with the study of bent FRP reinforcements with the main focus on the methods of production of bent FRP reinforcement, examples of their application in structures. The work also mentions the effects of aggressive environments on the durability of FRP. In the practical part, a search of the possibilities of testing the properties of bent FRP reinforcement. Subsequently, an experiment is designed and performed to monitor changes in the properties of straight and bent FRP reinforcement exposed to the alkaline environment and water at 20 °C and 40 °C. Finally, the evaluation of changes in mechanical properties and observation of reinforcements using optical and scanning electron microscopy is performed.
