Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Supervisor: Dr. Georgios Paraskevopoulos, Ph.D. Author: Tereza Stehlíková Title of the thesis: Effect of 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium bromide to the permeability of human skin when applied in different media In this thesis, the effect of ionic liquids (IL) on the permeability of human skin was investigated. IL represent a potential group of substances that can facilitate the transfer of drugs through the skin. The amphiphilic IL 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium bromide (C8MIM) was used in the experiment. Theophylline (TH), a hydrophilic molecule, and diclofenac sodium (DIC), a more lipophilic and larger molecule, were used as model compounds. Three different media were chosen for the application of the model substances (water (H2O), 60% propylene glycol (PG) in H2O and Ethanol (EtOH) 96%). The prepared samples were used for permeation experiments on human skin. The results showed increased penetration of TH through human skin in the presence of C8MIM when applied in H2O and EtOH 96%, but not by 60% PG in H2O. Skin retention of TH was significant using EtOH 96% (with high variability between samples) and results were not statistically significant for the other solvents. Skin penetration did not increase in...
Ecology in Diapers Return to cloth diapers as a step forward?
Stehlíková, Tereza ; Jakoubková Budilová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kolářová, Marta (referee)
In my thesis, I have covered interviews with ten women - mothers who have decided to use for their babies a changing system of modern cloth diapers. For the topic I have used a qualitative sociological research strategy. The purpose of the received data from the interviews was to answer questions about motivations and reasons for the usage of this type of nappies and decide what benefits they see in them. As our society is used to disposable baby diapers and looks at them as a norm, I was interested in people's reactions, which these mothers have faced and how they have coped with. Finally, I have tried to find out the role of the internet and the social media in this matter. The theoretical part is devoted to the history of cloth and disposable diapers. There I have put into the context the issue of cloth diapers with the principles of sustainable development and responsible consumption. In the practical part I have carried out an analysis of ten semi-structured interviews with mothers who have been using cloth diapers for babies, along with examples of expressions of activities associated with cloth diapers in social media on the internet.

Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Consultant: Associate Professor, Petr Nachtigal, Ph.D. Candidate: Tereza Stehlíková Title of Thesis: Early changes in eNOS and ICAM-1 expression in mice aorta after administration of high fat diet Background: The aim of this thesis was to observe changes in eNOS a ICAM-1 expression after administration of high fat diet in comparison with the control group, which was fed with the chow diet. Method: C57BL/6J female mice were used for the experiment. 6 mice were fed with the high fat diet (experimental group), which contains 1,25 % of cholesterol and 40 % of fat, for the period of 3 months. Six mice (representing control group) were fed with the chow diet the whole time. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed by means of avidin-biotin complex method. Results: The expression of eNOS was visible on the vascular endothelium but there were no differences between the control group and the experimental group. Similarly, ICAM-1 expression was detected only in endothelium in aorta but no differences in the expression between control and experimental group were visible. Conclusions: Administration of high fat diet with 1,25 % of cholesterol and 40 % of fat for 3 months had no effect on the expression of...
Development of flexibility and subsequent compensation at various performance levels in rhytmic gymnastics in the Czech Republic

Title: Development of flexibility and subsequent compensation at various performance levels in rhythmic gymnastics in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to find out how exercises for the development of flexibility are performed. The other aim is to find out how the girls are led to correct warm-up and compensation during the training and at home. Interviews with trainers of various levels of rhythmic gymnastics were used to gather information. Furthermore, the thesis compares training routines for the flexibility development between different levels of rhythmic gymnastics programs. Methods: Information was obtained from interviews with trainers of rhythmic gymnastics in the Czech Republic. These were then analyzed. Some questions were evaluated using statistical methods of quantitative research. Results: Three out of five hypotheses were confirmed, remaining two were not confirmed. The biggest differences were found between the free program and the other two programs. The main difference concerned the length of the training units and other different answers arose from this. All or most of the trainers agreed on some issues regardless of the level at which they work. Keywords: Flexibility, Development, Compensation, Rhythmic gymnastics, Programs of RG, Imbalance,
Progress flexibility lower limbs in rhythmic gymnastics

Title: Progress flexibility lower limbs in rhythmic gymnastics Objectives: The objective of this work is to determine the effectiveness of exercises for the development of flexibility of the lower limbs in modern gymnastics. Designed exercises were practiced 2-3 times a week. As it is a modern gymnastics, girls aged 5-7 were tested. This is because this sport starts in early age and flexibility is the key ability in performance evaluation. The objective was to find out which exercises that were designed were effective. That is, whether the girls have improved over the six months or not. Four measurements were realized, every two months. The first measurement was realized before the start of the exercise, the other two during the training period and the fourth was after 6 months, which was the final measurement. Methods: Four measurments were realized. First before the start of the training mobility plan and then every two months. From the results I calculated the improvement of girls between each measurement and finally also between the first and last measurement. I calculated average values of girls and average values of improvement. I used the field testing methods. Results: In my research I found that girls improved on average over six months. Furthermore, their extent has gradually improved....
