Design of Portable Espresso Maker

This Bachelor‘s thesis deals with a design of portable espresso coffeemaker considering ergonomic, constructional and aesthetic requirements. Although, the design primarily focuses on low weight and compactness, it simultaneously seeks to keep all essential parameters of a proper espresso. Furthermore, the thesis also deals with the design of accompanying components, such as a travel case or an espresso cup.

Are former common pastures a significant part of protected areas?

Former common pastures show a higher biological value than the surrounding landscape and they usually represent areas of conservation value. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the state nature protection of the Czech Republic reflects this fact. For this purpose, 210 small protected areas in six districts in three regions, namely Cheb and Sokolov districts in Karlovy Vary region, Česká Lípa and Jablonec nad Nisou districts in Liberec region, and Kroměříž and Zlín disctricts in Zlín region were analyzed. The former common pastures were located within the boundaries of the small protected areas according to the historical maps of Stable Cadastre from the first half of the 19th century. To determine biotope diversity of analyzed areas the Natura 2000 biotope mapping was used. Data from the species database were used to compare species diversity of the studied protected areas. In conclusion, the former common pastures were located in 30 out of 210 small protected areas and on average covered 3,6 % of the protected area. Above average values were found in the districts of Zlín region. Higher biotope diversity of the former common pastures was confirmed, as well as higher biotope diversity of protected areas, in which former common pastures were located. Autumn leaf senescence in temperate and boreal woody species under changing climate

Autumn senescence of the foliage of deciduous trees of temperate and boreal zones is an annually recurring phenological phenomenon, which is part of the adaptation to life in the temperate and boreal zones with periods of frost and restriction of solar radiation. During foliar senescence, photosynthetic pigments decompose, mineral nutrients are remobilized and foliage falls off. The timing of foliage senescence in boreal and temperate deciduous trees is controlled by external and internal factors. The biggest role in the timing of senescence is played by photoperiod and temperature, which gradually decrease by he end of the growing season. The temperature is increasing due to global warming, thus affecting the length of the growing season and the sequestration of carbon into forest stands. Other factors (such as water availability) are also affected by climate change. The above-mentioned factors affect the trees of boreal and temperate forests to varying degrees, and it is, therefore, important to address them in order to be able to estimate the future development of foliage senescence and carbon sequestration in temperate and boreal forests.

Key Ideas of Franz Pöggeler's Andragogical Concept

This bachelor thesis deals with the key andragogical ideas of Franz Pöggeler. Pöggeler was an important German adult educator in the second half of the 20th century and he is considered to be one of the founders of andragogy as an independent scientific discipline. The thesis is primarily based on Pöggeler's major andragogical work, Erwachsenenbildung: Einführung in die Andragogik (Adult Education: Introduction to Andragogy), which was published in 1974. The aim of the thesis is to interpret and organise Pöggeler's key andragogical ideas and to provide an integrated view of his andragogical concept in the context of his era. The thesis also includes a critical assessment of Pöggeler's andragogical ideas. Employment - experiences of employers in region of Liberec

Rok 2007 byl Evropským parlamentem a Radou vyhlášen Evropským rokem rovných příležitosti pro všechny. K této iniciativě se připojilo všech 27 členských států Evropské unie a demonstrovalo tak svůj úmysl bojovat s diskriminací, která některé občany Evropské unie stále postihuje. Mezi tyto občany patří i lidé se zdravotním postižením, kterým je kampaň, provázející Evropský rok rovných příležitostí, také určena. Podle statistiky Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí evidovaly úřady práce ke konci 2. čtvrtletí roku 2007 celkem 370 791 uchazečů o zaměstnání. Z toho bylo 67 701 osob se zdravotním postižením, které tedy tvoří 18,3% z celkového počtu nezaměstnaných. Znamená to, že téměř každá pátá osoba hledající zaměstnání prostřednictvím úřadu práce je osobou se zdravotním postižením. Kvůli omezení svého pracovního výkonu patří osoby se zdravotním postižením do skupiny osob na trhu práce obtížně umístitelných1, a tudíž i ohrožených dlouhodobou nezaměstnaností a sociální exkluzí. Právě sociální vyloučení2 a s ním spojená chudoba jsou klíčovými problémy (nejen) současné společnosti. Efektivním nástrojem pro- aktivní sociální politiky, který tyto neduhy léčí, je zaměstnanost.

A Comparison of Czech and German Systems of Further Education

This diploma thesis deals with further education in the Czech Republic and in Germany. The aim of the thesis is to compare the systems of further education in these countries in the field of legislation and state funding and then to identify similarities and differences between the systems. The necessary context for the comparison will be provided by the introductory part of the thesis devoted to the institutionalization of further education, its terminology and the participation of adults in further education in the Czech Republic and in Germany. Each area of further education mentioned above (including legislation and state funding) will be analysed on the basis of professional literature, legal documents, documents of ministries, statistical data and research reports of specialised research institutions. The analysis will be followed by a comparison of these areas and a systematization of basic similar and different features of both systems of further education. Design of the parametric orthosis for upper limb

This thesis deals with the design and manufacturing of custom-made immobilization orthosis for the upper limb. Emphasis is put on the digitization of the approach and integration of additive manufacturing in the workflow of splint production. The solution proposes automatic model construction based on a 3D scan. Such a model is further parametrized in order to provide splinting practitioners with customization abilities. Particular attention is paid to the changes of limb volume due to swell, where the use of auxetic structures is suggested.
