Quality of sleep in adult patients with attention - deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

The bachelor thesis aims to describe the quality of sleep in adult patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and at the same time to indicate the factors that could affect the quality of sleep. The literature review section will present the features of the disorder itself, the distinction into subgroups, and the issues of the diagnosis of ADHD in adulthood. It will also include the results of studies that focus on the chronotype of the adult ADHD patient, the specifics of his/her circadian rhythm, and the possibilities of non-pharmacological effects on sleep. Attention will also be focused on the potential presence of comorbidities that may affect sleep quality in ADHD patients. The research design will address the question of whether sleep quality differs in adult patients ADHD from the healthy population. The vast majority of sleep quality studies have focused on ADHD in childhood. Although attention is now turning to the adult population with ADHD, the area of sleep quality is often subject to misperceptions of subjective assessment criteria or is not covered at all. Parents about Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Relation to the Covid-19 Pandemic

(in English): The thesis is focused on behavioral problems in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders from the parents' perspective, in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. It is precisely this specific population that is particularly vulnerable in the context of the pandemic and the measures associated with it. The reason for that is higher emotional reactivity, clinging to routines and stereotypes and poorer ability to adapt to changes, which are some of the typical manifestations of ASD. In the literary-overview part, the thesis deals with the classification and manifestations of ASD, its prevalence and etiology, development, diagnosis and intervention options. It also maps current knowledge regarding the impact of the pandemic on mental health and mentions current research focused on the problematic behavior of children with ASD from the perspective of their caregivers in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. The goal of the research part is to compare behavioral problems before the pandemic and during its beginning in the spring of 2020. Girls with Asperger syndrome and their relationships

The aim of this thesis is to focus on girls with Asperger syndrome in connection with their partner relationships and to find out how they manage to establish and maintain them or what problems they struggle with in their relationships. The literature review section includes an introduction to Asperger syndrome, its classification according to ICD-10, and then chapters on diagnosis, manifestations of Asperger syndrome, and differences between girls and boys. Other chapters focus specifically on girls with Asperger syndrome, presenting research from recent years that has in some way explored different aspects of their partner lives. The final chapters are devoted to a more detailed description of Asperger syndrome in girls and the forms their partner relationships take. The thesis will propose qualitative research that would be conducted through semi-structured interviews. The respondents will be girls diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, aged 18 years or older. Staying in a current partner relationship is not a requirement. The sample size should be at least 10 respondents. The expected contribution of the research findings to psychological theory and practice is to further explore the lived experiences of girls with Asperger syndrome and their unique personal experiences in partner relationships.
Burnout Syndrome and Creativity among Teachers

The bachelor thesis follows the concept of burnout syndrome and creativity and monitors their interrelationship in the teaching profession. The literature overview deals with the definition of burnout syndrome, its manifestations, contextual characteristics and its placement in the context of teaching practice. Next it draws nearer the concept of creativity and variables related to it, its development, possible operationalization and especially its aspects related to teaching. Subsequently, the thesis summarizes the conclusions of research aimed at monitoring the relationship between the two main concepts. The proposed research aims to monitor the relationship between burnout syndrome and creativity among primary school teachers in the inclusion of the age variable and years of practice of the teacher. Burnout syndrome in kindergarten teachers compared to teachers of special kindergartens

This bachelor thesis focuses on comparison of burnout syndrome of kindergarten teachers and special kindergarten teachers. This thesis defines the burnout syndrome, it compares both teacher's job description and the main stressors leading to burnout. The aim of this thesis was to find out whether the burnout syndrome occurs more often in ordinary kindergarten teachers or in teachers of special kindergarten. Maslach burnout inventory was used to measure the burnout syndrome of 100 teachers of ordinary kindergartens and 100 teachers of special kindergartens. At the end, this thesis proposes some of recommendations to prevent the burnout syndrome.
The use of punishment in the upbringing of preschool children in connection with their aggressive behavior

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of aggressive behavior of preschool children and lists the possible links between such behavior and the use of punishment in upbringing. The work describes in more detail the aggressive behavior typical for preschool children. Some factors that are closely related to the aggression of preschool children are clarified. Furthermore, the work defines the concept of punishment as an educational tool and divides punishments into two categories - psychological and physical. Subsequently, the work pays attention to the search for a connection between physical or psychological punishments in upbringing and various types of aggressive behavior of preschool children. The empirical part contains a proposal for a quantitative research of the potential relationship between the use of physical and psychological punishment by parents in upbringing and the degree of physical or relational aggression of preschool children. The results of the research could significantly contribute to the findings in the field of the use of punishment in the Czech Republic and clarify the effects of punishment on the aggressive behavior of preschool children. I Abstract The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the benefits of pedagogical practice for beginning elementary school teachers in connection to experienced stress. It maps different techniques of dealing with reality over expectations and the outcomes of first involvement with the actual performance of a teacher. It determines key parts of the practice that can either help decrease or increase the amount of encountered stress. Parental Reaction to the Birth of a Child with Down Syndrome

The bachelor thesis is devoted to psychological aspects of parental reaction to the birth of a child with Down syndrome. The aim of this work is to contribute to better quality of interaction between these parents and paramedics within Czech perinatal environment. Consequently, the parents' unexpected acquirement of their new life roles can be facilitated. The theoretical part of this thesis deals especially with parental emotional experience within the first moments and days of the offspring's life. The work aims to describe variables, which can affect the intensity of emotional reactions to the unexpected newborn's handicap. The thesis also focuses on parental needs which might arise. Meeting these needs can significantly influence the following course of the reaction. A certain part of the text concentrates on different communication instruments, which are relevant when interacting with parents of such handicapped babies. Classroom Environment and Form Teacher's Emotional Intelligence

This thesis is focused on two main topics: classroom climate and teacher's emotional intelligence. Firstly, the phenomenon of classroom climate is introduced. Various aspects of the topic are described, including the role of the form teacher, as well as several studies about classroom climate. The second topic is emotional intelligence, which is introduced and focused on emotional intelligence of teachers. Also, several methods of improving emotional intelligence are described. Next, both topics are connected through some studies, which creates a base for the drafted research. The main question of the research is, if there is a connection between form teacher's emotional intelligence and the climate in their classroom. A quantitative research is proposed, using the KLIT, CCQ and MSCEIT questionnaires. The premise is that teachers with higher emotional intelligence have better climate in their classrooms. ADHD in girls

This work deals with differences in ADHD manifestation in girls and boys and problems associated with ADHD such as problematic interaction with peers, substance use or problems with self-perception and executive functions. The work also deals with comorbidities with ADHD in girls (eg. depression, anxiety disorders or eating disorders). The aim of the research project is to gain insight into the manifestation of ADHD in girls in school environment, as perceived by teacher who have experience with these girls. This insight can potentially serve as an overview of ADHD manifestation in girls in school environment. This overview could then be used by other teachers to be aware of ADHD manifestations in girls which differ from ADHD manifestations in boys.
