Comparison of semiotic analysis of selected logos and their perception by the recipient

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the diversity and individuality of perception of visual elements, specifically logos. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the logo itself and the terms related to it, its origin, history and development, its function in the context of today, its current design and creation. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is to compare the semiotic analysis of logos of seven regions of the Czech Republic with their perception by the recipients. According to the used individual elements of logos, colours, shapes and forms, fonts and symbols, their semiotic analysis is performed. Hypotheses are formulated on the basis of its results, which are used to create the answer options for the questionnaire survey. These options are thus made up of the expected characteristics and features of the logos. The options are supplemented by the meanings of the logos intended by their authors or contractors. The results of the questionnaire survey are compared with the results of the semiotic analysis and with the intended meanings of the logos. This also verifies the truth of the hypotheses. A total of 309 respondents were involved in the questionnaire survey, divided according to gender, age, highest education level and place of residence.

Beekeeping Exposition of the Prague Botanical Garden and its Application in the Process of Education

Beekeeping Exposition of the Prague Botanical Garden and its Application in the Process of Education This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of a beekeeping exposition of the Prague Botanical Garden currently in a phase of planning. It is divided in two parts. In the first part, the honey bee (Apis mellifera) is described - its anatomy, ethology, diseases and bee products. In the last chapter of the theoretical part an example of a possible use of a traditional artificial hive in primary school education is introduced. The second part is dedicated to the beekeeping exposition itself and includes a questionnaire survey, the aim of which is to find out to what extent the topic of the honey bee is dealt with in the curriculum; whether schools organize any events related to the topic such as discussion forums or educational excursions to eco-centres; or whether schools would be interested in the planned exposition as well as available materials such as worksheets. Furthermore, the planned exposition is described and its possible application in the process of education is suggested. Later, significant plants suitable for beekeeping, which had been mentioned in the description of the exposition proposal, are thoroughly described in a well-arranged chart. Didactic Methods used in Botany Teaching at Elementary Schools Diploma thesis concerns the topic of utilizing didactic methods in the education of botanic at the grammar schools. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part, there are described chosen didactic methods and current classification of botanic in the "General education programme of the basic education system". Furthermore, there is described past classification of the botanic in the "Education programme of Grammar school, General school and National school". Second part contains questionnaire results - pupils and teachers of botanic in the 7. grade of grammar school. The goal of the questionnaire was to find out, which teaching methods are used during the education of botanic, which methods are popular and unpopular with teachers as well as students and which methods are, according to the opinions of the teachers, effective and ineffective. Other goal of the questionnaire was to find out, if the teachers are using education programmes during lessons. In the third part of the thesis, there is listed my own proposal of a lesson of a chosen topic in botanic, which I have based on the results of the questionnaires.
