Understanding of Majority Language and Romani language among preschool population

This thesis is devoted to the issue of understanding Romani and the majority languages by Romani preschoolers in order to consider the possibility of introducing Romani language in schools. Also it analyses the influence of using Romani language on the ability to perform age-appropriate tasks by Roma preschoolers. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part presents a summary of the relevant works on school failure of Romani children with an emphasis on their language handicap. We also pay attention to the theory of language shift, language code, and subtractive bilingualism. In the second, empirical part a primary research is carried out examining the degree of understanding Romani and majority languages in three locations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As a methodology, a mixed research design was chosen. It was divided into two phases. During the first phase a field research was conducted, followed by quantitative evaluation of tasks performed by the Romani preschoolers in the second phase. Research has shown, that there are different linguistic situations in the surveyed locations and therefore no generic measure can be introduced. The objective of master thesis "Recent trends in education of the unemployed people in Denmark and the Czech Republic" is to describe active labour market policy of Denmark and the Czech Republic. The focus is specifically on young unemployed people representing the group with the highest unemployment rate on the Europeans labour market. This master thesis introduces to the instruments of active labour market policy and focuses especially on education as the most effective instrument of active labour market policy. The thesis is a theoretical study, working with relevant information sources of these two countries and with documents of EU. The result of this thesis is to be acquainted with the recent trends of this area, e.g. support of the further education or internships as an instrument of education in praxis. The activities of a pedagogical worker with clients of asylum house

The theme of the thesis is The activities of a pedagogical worker with clients of an asylum house. The target is to find out what activities the pedagogical worker does in this kind of facility, what is the work description, how the worker works with clients and their children. Further more the thesis deals with necessity of pedagogical worker in an asylum house a their in/sufficient capacity. The thesis is focused on finding out the success of a pedagogical worker in this kind of facility and how the pedagogue reaches the target of their activity. In the theoretical part there I describe particular activities which the pedagigical worker carries out in an asylum house, it means in socially disadvantaged environment. In the empirical part of the thesis there I research whether the pedagogical worker is neccessary in this facility and wheteher and to what extent their work capacity is sufficient. The research includes finding out the success of a pedagogical worker in asylum house primarily with the help of reached targets made by clients. The bachalor thesis brings the survey of language education in the context of lifelong learning - from pre-school education to free time language learning activities of adults, specifics of various age groups incl. methods of teaching, trends and modern tendencies of language learning. The work introduces educational institutions and an overview of language learning in the context of European Union and the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic.
Placement of map symbols

Placing map symbols in a way so that the resulting map looks well is a major problem in cartography. In this thesis, we deal with automatization of this process using an evolutionary algorithm. Input of this algorithm is a set of requests for symbols (signposts, ruins, street names etc) to be placed on the map, its output is a description of their placement. Unlike other studies, we deal with labels for all kind of features (not only point-features) as well as with placing the features themselves. We managed to design an evolutionary algorithm which produces acceptable maps and offers some possibilities to further enhance the quality of produced maps.
The values of children and young people from sociocultural disadvantaged backgrounds (research in elementary school Chanov)

This diploma thesis deals with the values of children and youth in the context of a sociocultural disadvantaged backgrounds. The work has theoretical and empirical character. The theoretical part explains the basic terminology and assumptions relating to values and value orientation, moral development of children, social exclusion. The text provides a detailed description of the Roma population including its history and current status, possible causes of problems and theoretical solutions psychosocial differences. Practical work provides data on socially excluded Roma locality Chanov and especially local elementary school. The research study provides an interpretation which life values Roma children perceive as important and what attitude to their value orientation have teachers of elementary school Chanov. The results of interviews and questionnaires are compared with the conclusions of the studies mentioned in the theoretical part.
Social stabilization clients with probation supervision imposed

The thesis focuses on the socio-educational work methods of the probation and mediation services and of its workers in relation to their clients with imposed probation supervision and on the opportunities for development and support of their healthy social functioning. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part initially are defined the basic concepts and terms, then it is described the target group of conditionally released from prison clients, which currently are under supervision of a probation officer. The thesis sees the imprisonment as a difficult life situation and it deals with the influence of penitentiary environment on the personality of the convict in relation to his further development. In the second part are described the specific activities of the probation and mediation service workers in relation to clients from the target group. The thesis focuses on the socio-educational work of the probation officers, as well as social workers or other organizations for social prevention and their impact on the social stabilization of individuals, belonging to the target group. Meeting the life and career values in social-pedagogical work Abstract: My thesis deals with the possibilities of finding and implementing the values of social pedagogue in the context of his profession and even in the context of the personal life. Its objective is based on an analysis of scientific literature, reflecting own experience and on the qualitative research, to show where and how the helping professionals can find their personal and professional values and how they manage to fulfill them. For these reasons I decided to make a research that would support the content of the theoretical part and was able to bring life caring professionals through finding their innermost attitudes - values, motivations and motives - which are private but in the end affect the quality of their work. Through analysis of the results of semi-structured interviews conducted with social pedagogues it was found that personal values of employees in many ways penetrate into the professional values, the main motivation to pursue social pedagogical work lies in th need of transcendence and that the benefits of this mission in many ways exceeds it caused losses. The Analysis of current forms and methods of senior citizens' education

This thesis deals with the possibilities of education of elderly citizens in the Czech Republic. It compromises of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part of the thesis the characteristics of gerontopedagogy and gerontodidactics were determined, and further the possibilities of education of seniors were outlined. The research in the empirical part of this thesis regards the adequateness of the offers of educational institutions for the elderly. The aim of the research is to determine whether the offer of the institutions in selected Prague districts, which currently provide learning opportunities for elderly, is sufficient for the purposes of their needs and interests. The ultimate research question is: What is the opinion of the respondents on the range of offers of the educational institutions? Further sub-questions were asked, regarding the number of educational institutions, the variety of activities offered, the lack of educational activities, promotion of the activities, the cooperation of the educational institutions with the social welfare department and with feedback from the elderly.
