Development of fine motor skills in preschool children with grafomotorics problems

This diploma thesis is focused on children with grafomotorics problems at preschool age, especially on inappropriate grip of handwriting tools. The target was to put together and implement in practice the intervention programme focused on fine motor skills development. Based on the results of testing tasks evaluating the degree of children grafomotorics skills the three significant groups were made. The first group (control group) was comprised of children without noticeable grafomotorics skills problems. The other two groups were comprised of children with grafomotorics skills problems (experimental groups). One of the experimental group was target of mentioned tranining programme for fine motor skills development. At the programme end all three significant groups were again examined by criterion-referenced test. The impact of intervention programme and its implementation in practice under everyday conditions of nursery school was discussed.
Morphology development in children at family risk for dyslexia - contribution to study prerequisites for the development of literacy skills in children at risk for dyslexia

A b s t r a c t This thesis is a part of the project concerning risk factors of manifestation of specific learning disabilities in children at risk of dyslexia. Specifically, it deals with the development of morphology in children with family history of specific learning disabilities. Children in preschool and early school age have been repeatedly within three years tested with a diagnostic tool called Test of morphological awareness based on the Test of language (Žlab, 1992). The aim of the study was to map the development of several sub-areas of morphological skills (gender forms, plural nouns, past tense and 3rd person singular verb, adjectives derivation and grammatical agreement). Several issues were concerned. First, whether the development of children in this age group is still ongoing and so if the performance is improving. Second, whether there are differences in the development of children from an intact group (with normal speech development) and a risk group (children from families where at least one parent has suffered from specific learning disabilities). Third, whether is the development influenced by intelligence or sex. Rituals as a Rudimentary Product of Magical Thinking

The bachelor thesis focuses on magical thinking in the age of adulthood. The primary aim is to discover and define the particular manifestations of the magical thinking in adulthood and compare them with magical thinking in childhood. A further aim is to find a link between magical thinking and religion, and between magical thinking and field of education of participants. Research methodologies include qualitive field research accompanied by semi- structured interviews. The finding of the research show that magical thinking is more often found in child thinking, but it could be discovered in adulthood as well, there are no differences among principles and forms of magical thinking in childhood and adulthood. Magical thinking is more often found in atheists and there is no link between magical thinking and field of education of participants. The discussion concludes that magical thinking emerges in stressful situations and it is associated with anxiety and feelings of uncertainty. Magical thinking serve important functions - it is a coping strategy and it could reduce an anxiety.

A b s t r a c t This thesis is based on two projects which follow one another and which deal with study of development of language and literacy skills in children at risk of dyslexia. The thesis describes the development of morphological awareness in children with specific language impairment. The level of morphological awareness was repeatedly tested during three years at children in preschool and early school age with the Test of morphological awareness. This method was prepared on the basis of Žlab's Test of language awareness (1992) and maps development of several subareas of morphological skills - gender forms, plural nouns, past tense and third person singular verb, adjective derivation and gramatical agreement. Several issues were concerned. First, whether the development of children in this age group is still ongoing and whether the Test of morphological awareness can measure this ongoing. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with adult education in providing first aid. The theoretical part of the thesis is about development of amateur education in providing first aid, studies conditions, possibilities and attitude of adults towards self-education in providing lay first aid. The practical part of the thesis surveys a group of randomly chosen adults using questionnaire survey methodology to examine their motivation for self-education in providing first aid, factors influencing education of people in this field and to find both effective and underrated forms of adult education in first aid. The goal of the thesis is to map today's possibilities of self-education in first aid, to inquire people's and society's motivation for self-education in first aid and to analyze conditions for general education in this field. This thesis deals with free and controlled play activities in preschool education in terms of teachers. It focuses primarily on the game preschool children playing children spend most of their time is their most important activities for the advancement of their entire personality. The theoretical part is focused on defining the concept of game play and substance of the relationship and the importance of play of preschool children. It is focused on free and controlled the game and activities, and their ratio to the game in terms of teachers. The practical part is focused on the importance of teachers in the free and controlled the game and activities for children in kindergarten through observation. During the observation is focused on the description of children's activities, actions and attitudes of teachers towards free and controlled the game and activities, and children. The result is to highlight the important role of free and controlled the game in the life of preschool age, and especially access to teachers and their role in the open and controlled by children playing. Foreign language aptitude of pupils with learning disabilities at the beginning of the foreign language acquisition at the elementary school

The dissertation is dealing with the issue of foreign language aptitude and foreign language abilities of pupils with learning disabilities at the beginning of the foreign language acquisition. The first part of the work describes general theories of the foreign language acquisition and introduces the current trends in education of pupils with learning disabilities in the process of foreign language learning. The second part of the work describes the research, which aim was to investigate the quality and the devlepoment of the foreing language aptitude of the pupils with learning disabilities during the first year of foreign language study at the elementary school. Foreign language aptitude and foreign language abilities were compared with foreign language achievement and with native language and reading skills.
