Competencies of Foreign Language Teachers

The submitted diploma thesis deals with the competencies of a foreign language teacher. It develops the specifics of the lecturer's work in the field of language teaching with regard to the current economic and socio-cultural context and the diversity of the language services market. It analyzes theoretically and conceptually focused sources developed mainly in the European Union. The thesis contains an analysis of concepts of competence, from a sociological, psychological, political and economic point of view. An analysis of the current state of language education and the characteristics of entities in the language services market is also presented. The thesis offers an up-to-date classification of teaching competencies, which takes into account current trends in the socio-economic life of society. The developed model of competencies can serve as a reference point for political actors in the standardization and regulation of the profession, as well as for language schools and teachers themselves in raising their professional level. Based on the performed theoretical analysis, it proposes a broad view of the foreign language teacher as an important social actor, whose activity transcends the boundaries of language teaching and includes a much more complex influencing of desirable social changes....
Crisis Management of Organisations from the HR Perspective during the Coronavirus Pandemy

The bachelor thesis aims to map the crisis management of selected organizations from the point of view of personnel management during the coronavirus pandemic. The work first deals with the definition of the crisis in the organization, its origin and development, and its typologies. Furthermore, attention is paid to the issue of crisis management, specifically its historical development, its functions, and activities. The work also focuses on crisis management tools, which are crisis strategies, crisis plans, and crisis communication. Subsequently, space is devoted to defining human resource management to justify the role of the personnel department in the crisis team. Finally, the pandemic situation in the Czech Republic in the period from March 2020 to March 2021 is presented. Although organizations differ in size and scope, they all have in common that they have been forced to respond to a crisis situation and ensure the protection of their employees. The Impact of Burnout Syndrome on Teachers' Work Career

Bachelor's thesis works up the issue of burnout syndrome at teachers of elementary and high schools. Goal of this bachelor's thesis is to capture the impact of burnout syndrome on teachers' work performance and career. At first attention in the thesis is dedicated to the definition of burnout syndrome and it's causes, it's particular phases, consequences of burnout syndrome and it's possible prevention. Attention is also paid to the profession and work career of teachers in connection with the factors influencing work career because of burnout syndrome. Goal of the qualitative research is to find out in what way the burnout syndrome effects the work career at target group of elementary and high school teachers, who have the burnout syndrome professional diagnosed for at least one year. Data is gathered by personnel interviews with twelve people aged 25 to 65 years from the field of elementary and high school education coming from Central Bohemian Region and from Ústí nad Labem Region. Responders are chosen via non-random occasional choice. Responders can enrol on research voluntarily by e-mail on the basis of invitation addressed to principals of elementary and high schools. Analysis of the Further Education Offer in the Field of Leadership in the Czech Republic

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the offer of further education in the field of leadership in the Czech Republic. The theoretical basis of the work is the professional development of approaches to leadership and managerial competencies. First, the area of leadership, the development of theories of management and leadership, and the functions, roles and competencies of managers are defined and described. Further, attention is paid to the forms and methods of education and development of managers, further education in the context of lifelong learning and the development of managerial competencies. The aim of the empirical survey is to determine the percentage of selected managerial competencies in the courses of sixty educational institutions. Subsequently, the obtained data are compared with the degree of importance of the given competencies for the performance of managers according to available empirical studies. Knowledge management and its application in human resource management

This doctoral thesis proposes to specify a relatively new managerial discipline - Knowledge Management (KM) in a different way than it is done in an accessible literature. Nowadays, KM represents a wide and intensively discussed topic with many critics as well as advocates. Above all, it is a practical discipline that came out of practice and it is inseparably connected with it. Intangible (knowledge) assets are its main essence. KM is a complex process that must be supported by a strong foundation of enablers. The enablers for KM are corporate strategy and culture, team work, informal networking, measurement, and technology. Each of these must be designed and managed together with the others and supported by organizational process. The process usually involves several of the following stages or sub-processes in the use of knowledge: to create, identify, formalize, organize, disseminate, share, adapt, use and evaluate it. Using of Virtual Reality in Education of Adults

This thesis focuses on the use of virtual reality in adult education. The virtual reality is a new technology, which can be used in many areas, including adult education. The concept of the virtual reality is ambiguous, therefore the first part of the thesis defines and characterizes this concept and describes its main effects. The main topic of the theoretical part of this work is existing knowledge about the use of the virtual reality and application of this knowledge to adult education. Virtual reality cannot be considered an absolutely perfect tool in all educational situations. It is therefore important to point out basic advantages and limits of its use in adult education. Employee Benefit System Design

The bachelor's thesis deals with the process of employee benefit system design and factors that affect it. The thesis pays attention to employee benefits in terms of human resource strategy and human resource policy, the importance of providing employee benefits and their legislation in the Czech Republic, also employee benefits in the system of rewarding employees and in the context of employee care. Based on the analysis of general project management procedures, a procedure for employee benefit system design has been created. Furthermore, attention is focused on the factors that affect the process of employee benefit system design, Czech and foreign research has been used. The bachelor's thesis includes a qualitative empirical research. By means of interviews with HR professionals of selected medium-sized companies in the Litoměřice district, there are identified procedures of employee benefit system design and factors that affect it. Non-formal Non-vocational Adult Education in the Czech Republic

The present master's thesis deals with the issue of non-formal non-vocational adult education occurring in particular during leisure time of individuals. The objective of the present study is the analysis of the current outlook of the informal education of adults outside working activities in the Czech Republic. The study has focused on the level of participation of the adults in the non-formal non-vocational education as well as the provision of the offer of educational activities. First of all, the thesis has focused on definition, functions as well as the utilisation of leisure time by the adults as well as determination of the non-formal education. Furthermore, the focus has been laid to adult leisure education and adult citizenship education, in particular their goals, the content and forms as well as the participation of adults in the non-formal non- vocational education, the offer and institutions that provide this education. Adaptation of Volunteers Sent by Humanitarian Organizations to Foreign Missions

Annotation: The diploma thesis is aimed at processing the issue of adaptation of volunteers sent by humanitarian organizations on missions abroad. First, the humanitarian help and development aid with volunteering and principles of international volunteer cooperation are described. Second, the adaptation in relation to work abroad is characterized including tools for managing the adaptation process. Data were drawn from academic resources and reports issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and nonprofit organizations operating in the current field. The empirical survey objective is to identify and compare how adaptation of volunteers sent to foreign missions is being carried out by Czech organizations including ADRA, Brontosauři v Himalájích, People in Need, INEX-SDA, Doctors without Borders, SADBA and SIRIRI. The tools for managing the adaptation in these organizations will be compared as well. A method of qualitative semi-structured interviews with Human Resources managers ensuring the adaptation of volunteers will be used to gather the data. Leadership and its impact on employees' approach towards learning

The attention toward organizational learning has increased in last twenty years according to present studies and researches. Organizations have to cope with rapidly changing world and they have to find ways how to succeed in it. This study endeavours to find answers whether and how learning can be supported and accepted in the working environment and what can be improved to do so. Leaders are put into the centre of the interest due to their close effect on their followers. The subject of the study is a Czech located branch of a Dutch bank. The participants of the study come from one of the departments. The investigation took place in a form of questionnaires. The results showed that leaders' behaviour that was oriented toward learning could significantly influence learning of the subordinates. It was also found that transformational leadership style was applied more often than other styles of leadership by the leaders. Learning was perceived very positively by all the respondents. The study suggests possible implications and a potential future research orientation. Key words: leadership, leaders, workplace learning, improving learning
