Information Architecture of Selected Digital Libraries Web Interface

(in English): This thesis is dedicated to the analysis and evaluation of applied information architecture of two selected digital libraries - Manuscriptorium and Kramerius of the National Digital Library. Information architecture is one of several interconnected web design disciplines. For designing purposes, information architecture can be defined as a complex of elements and principles. Analysis and evaluation of the existing information architecture depends on its integration into the web sites context. The thesis contains theoretical part with definition of information architecture, its elements and principles of design. It describes evaluation methods of information architecture as a combination of qualitative and quantitative elements of web sites. Information architecture of digital libraries often means architecture of the system. The thesis contains a definition of a digital library and explains focus on access application. Testing of web usability is the best way of testing the information architecture of digital libraries. It enables to test information architecture from user's point of view. The conclusion provide results of the usability tests.

Comparison of various approaches to evaluation of tree energetic balance

The thesis deals with the tree energetic balance closely related to the phenomenon of plant transpiration. Living systems have a unique ability to equilibrate gradients in the nature. Storing energy of the incoming solar radiation into a latent heat of water evaporation is an example of such tree feature. It dissipates energy and simultaneously recycles nutrients and water in the ecosystem. There are few possible ways of energy balance detection shown in this work. The thermal imagining can be used as a method for an indirect indication of transpiration - transpiring plants have lower leaf surface temperature. An alternative method for determining the rate of transpiration is a direct measurement of transpiration on leaves or transpiration flow in a tree trunk. However, extrapolation of the above mentioned methods to entire stands can encounter some difficulties. The first part of the thesis presents a description of a physical background of energetic processes and the ways in which plants operate with water, the biotic pump theory is being discussed. Jan Pokorný, Ph.D. Abstrakt The aim of this diploma thesis is the design, implementation and development of database applications for portal Andromedia using database technology. The solution is designed as an information base for continuing professional education. The purpose of the databank is gradually collect information of trends and analyzes in the field of continuing education, ideas and practices, methods, teaching aids, case studies, tests and other guidelines and sources of information. Author documented the results of the analysis of the problem and created solution using methods of project management solutions. The new solution is graphic design, database design and description using the RF model, and UML diagrams. Technologies used in the design databank are the programming language PHP and MySQL relational database. Money laundering

Money laundering is marginalized phenomenon with high social impact which comes from necessary connection of this activity with illegal activities, especially organized crime. Since the goal of almost every illegal activity is to create profit (and since the biggest profit comes from the activities which are highly dangerous for the society, such as drug trafficking) it is vital for the society to fight money laundering effectively. It is in the best interest of the whole society to fight this phenomenon and cut the organized crime out of their resources through effective control of the money laundering. The goal of this thesis is to explain the issue of money laundering in detail, to map the whole process while using mostly comparative and analytic methods and summarize the international and Czech anti- money laundering legislation. I would be glad if the reader had truly concrete idea about the phenomenon of money laundering after reading my thesis. In the first part, I am dealing with the whole concept of money laundering, meaning history and definition of the term itself. 1 Abstract Title of the thesis: Investment instruments The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze various investment instruments, their markets and their feasibility as an alternative to saving products. Secondary purpose of this thesis is to define a model investor, create reasonable and fitting investment strategy for them and introduce examples of investment portfolios that fulfill the strategy. The thesis is divided into two main chapters, each of which analyzes investment instruments from different perspectives. Chapter One introduces the instruments in general and describes their key characteristics, their legal regulation and brief history. One subchapter is dedicated to explaining motives driving the participants of financial markets. Another subchapter categorizes the investment instruments and divides them into distinct groups. Last subchapter investigates the financial markets themselves and describes their types, structure and functions. Chapter Two introduces a model investor and describes their particular motives for investing. Two subchapters analyze historical development of selected instruments and saving products and then compare the results. The current status of social bookmarking tools

The aim of the thesis is to characterise and on basic level analyse current social bookmarking tools. The first chapter offers a definition of social bookmarking which is represented by three axes: URL, user, tags. URL has a key role. A subcategory called social news exists, in its case time in which a resource represented by the URL is shared makes an important factor. Social bookmarking is introduced as a helpful tool for a user's work. It has two aspects: effective organisation of user bookmarks and social environment which allows for discovery of useful resources. The second chapter focuses on history of bookmarks, history of social bookmarking and describes options for connection of social bookmarking tools to related tools. The third chapter describes function of social bookmarking tools, specifically the characteristics of users and communities. Comparison of open source and proprietary software security

The main focus of this bachelor thesis is to compare open source and proprietary software security and to ascertain which software provides the best possible protection for information. The thesis commences with a definition of the frequently used terms in the thesis and is followed by an outline of how software evolved and the history of computer security. The main focus of this work study examines in detail which software type provides better security for end users, government agencies and commercial companies. The theoretical arguments presented are supported by relevant statistics and examples. This thesis also describes the algorithms used to measure and compare the different software security and databases that are used to store information security related data.

This PhD thesis "Biomechanical aspects of the dynamics of intracranial pressure in traumatic brain injury" is about the dynamics of intracranial pressure, particularly in relation to the external mechanical action of the patient. Severe head injury is the leading cause of death in patients under 35 years of age. Despite constantly-improving medical and nursing care only one third of patients, after recovery, regained the ability to live independently in the long term. Two-thirds of patients were severely disabled or died. The lifetime cost of such a patient who was not completely cured has been calculated to be $4,000,000. A significant consequence of craniocerebral injuries are secondary brain lesions, which among other means the rise in intracranial pressure (ICP), which can further exacerbate due to intracerebral or extracerebral causes. Therefore, the objective of the treatment is minimizing secondary injury, optimally at the phase of the primary lesion. Content management system with a focus on utilization in the library environment

Systémy pro správu obsahu s důrazem na využitelnost v knihovnickém prostředí Michaela Pappová Abstract (in English): The work is focused on open source web content management systems (WCMS), the conception and contextualisation. The advantages and negative factors associated with the use of these systems are discussed based on SWOT analysis. The next section presents selected WCMS - Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla! and Plone. These systems are compared in terms of potential utilization / deployment on the web, especially for small and medium-sized libraries by analyzing a sample of library web sites and specialized extensions, functions and other options offered by the system.
