Cílem práce je charakterizovat a na základní úrovni analyzovat současné prostředky tzv. social bookmarkingu. Úvodní kapitola nabízí definici social bookmarkingu, který představují tři osy: URL, uživatel, tagy. Klíčovou roli hraje URL. Podkategorií jsou nástroje social news, v jejich případě je ještě důležitým prvkem čas, ve kterém je informační zdroj reprezentovaný URL sdílen. Social bookmarking je představen jako nástroj pro usnadnění uživatelské práce. Má dva aspekty: efektivní organizaci uživatelských záložek a sociální prostředí umožňující objevení užitečných zdrojů. Druhá kapitola se věnuje historii záložek, historii social bookmarkingu a představuje možnosti propojení nástrojů social bookmarking s nástroji příbuznými. Třetí kapitola je zaměřená na fungování nástrojů social bookmarking, a to konkrétně na charakteristiky uživatelů a komunit. Čtvrtá kapitola srovnává služby Delicious, reddit, Diigo a Pinboard a analyzuje Delicious a reddit. The first chapter offers a definition of social bookmarking which is represented by three axes: URL, user, tags. URL has a key role. A subcategory called social news exists, in its case time in which a resource represented by the URL is shared makes an important factor. Social bookmarking is introduced as a helpful tool for a user's work. It has two aspects: effective organisation of user bookmarks and social environment which allows for discovery of useful resources. The second chapter focuses on history of bookmarks, history of social bookmarking and describes options for connection of social bookmarking tools to related tools. The third chapter describes function of social bookmarking tools, specifically the characteristics of users and communities.
