School Self-Evaluation and Transformation of School Education Programmes

The thesis "School self-evaluation and transformation of school education programmes" deals with elementary school self-evaluation. It is primarily focused on analyzing outcomes of self-evaluation activities that are indtended to develop schools and adjust school education programmes. The research is based on interviews with directors and teachers from elementary schools in Prague and could be used as an overview of the current state of Czech schools. It also offers recommendations for improving schools.

and key words Gender and communication at school The diploma thesis deals with gender issues in the school environment in relation to communication. The thesis analyses gender assumptions, projects gender in educational practice and maps gender stereotypes in relation to the communication at school. It presents the principles of gender-sensitive education and points out the positive aspects of gender equality education. The second part of the thesis is reserved for the empirical aspect containing the research probe. Students opinions on the gender communication were get by using the questionnaire. Children and young people from social excluded localities and their failure in informal education

The author in this thesis titled Children and young people from socially excluded localities and their failure in non-formal education deals with the causes of failure of children and young people from socially excluded localities in the process of informal education. Informal education is now perceived as a group, institutionalized, planned process that takes place outside or out of the formal education curriculum, ie, in free, "optional" or after-school time. To determine the causes of failure of children and youth in the formal education process, the chosen method of individual interviews. The research sample consisted of five clients open club. People in Need in Bilina, who have failed or are failing in the process of informal learning in institutionalized facilities. Constructivistic Ways in Elementary Education (Based on Czech Language Teaching)

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with a description and a comparison of transmissive and constructive forms of teaching in schools. It outlines circumstances which accompany both forms. Alternatively it is conditional to them; its philosophy, teaching methods, types of evaluation, environment in which the education process takes place, etc. Also, the author observes and compares general preconditions of both forms of teaching, their potential advantages and disadvantages based on author's own experience, and available literature. All with a consideration of present Czech education practices. The next part of the text gives an overview of some interesting methods of constructive forms of teaching, especially those which were used within the author's own research. In addition, the author names the most famous types of schools which base their organization of teaching on alternative methods of education. The empirical part of the thesis describes and evaluates the author's own research which looks into the possible ways of using transmissive and constructive forms of teaching in Czech language and literature classes at the elementary school level. Research results present a comparison of both theoretical preconditions and practical research findings.
Discrimination in a multicultural society as a pedagogical problem

This thesis is focused on the problem of discrimination in education and generally in the Czech republic. In the theoretical section are explained the main concepts of discrimination, racism and xenophobia. It also contains basic laws with discriminatory issues. Next it deals with the description of a multicultural society, which builds on multicultural education, which helps children better understand and tolerate the minority in the Czech republic. The practical part is processed on the basis of a questionnaire designed for three types of schools (rural, urban, metropolitan) and determines the orientation of students of selected schools in foreign issues and maps their opinions, attitudes and experience with minorities. Value of education from the perspective of pupils of different types of school

Values, especially the value of education, can be called a timeless theme. Changing historical periods brought about changes in the concept of educational value. Originating in Ancient Greece, the concept of educational value is as relevant as ever even today. This paper is devoted to this topic. In the Introduction - theoretical part - we aimed to look at the common values from the perspective of different disciplines. The following part discusses such terms as the system of values, its hierarchy and value orientation. This thesis also focuses on socialization and transmission of values, mostly in the family. This inherently includes parent-child relationships and educational styles. We did not avoid the issues of perceptions of moral standards specific to adolescents, their choice of vocational preparation etc. Also mentioned are the concepts related to education and educating. In the practical part, we discuss research methodology, conducting the interviews and their coding according to predetermined criteria. After this analysis, the thesis deals with the comparison of personal students' testimonies across individual classes as well as entire schools. Possibilities and diversification of inclusion at primary school: Case study ZŠ Horní Stakory

Thesis focused on finding the conditions of successful inclusive education to the specific primary school. In the theoretical part defines the concepts related to an inclusive education, compares the various authors, the principles of inclusive, sees the inclusive education in the world and in the Czech Republic. Further mentions that the school climate is one of the most important conditions for successful inclusion. Compares the for and against inkluzivního training, its contribution to the school, and all participants in the educational process. Part of the research is focused on the readiness of the particular primary school to inclusive education.
Evaluation of the upper grades pupils in the primary school and his influence to motivation to learn

This paper titled "Evaluation of the lower secondary education students and its influence on learning motivation" is focused on the most frequently used methods of evaluation at today's schools. It considers not only evaluation methods complying with students but also relation between evaluation and learning motivation. It includes an analysis of current situation of students' self-evaluation. The whole paper is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part portrays the core essence and the importance of the evaluation, its principles and qualities. It describes some important concepts, such as a pedagogical evaluation and its legal framework. It identifies function and techniques of the evaluation from the school legislation point of view and at the same time it illustrates the current tendencies in its development. It maps some types, forms and evaluation function. It explains in more details motivational function of evaluation as well as self-evaluation. The empirical part deals with a detailed research which is dedicated to exploration of the most frequently used pedagogical evaluation methods at the chosen schools. Dance education and personality development

Diploma Thesis "Dance education and personality development" covers educational field of dance and motoric training characterization. It includes integration of the field into the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, defines educational objectives, goals and field content and points at its contribution to upbringing, education and personal social development of pupils. Theoretical part of the thesis takes in incorporation of dance and motoric upbringing in terms of art education and it contains the dance and motoric upbringing referring to framing educational programme for basic education. It also points out the influence of dance and motion on pupils' personal and social developments. In the empirical part of the thesis, possibilities of personal development of pupils are shown in relation to dance and motoric trainings from qualified dance lecturers' perspective.
eTwinning - from the Partnership to the Community for Schools in Europe

The diploma thesis focuses on a European activity eTwinning and its implementation within the system of education. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the activity and its main principles, as well as its goals and management. The emphasis is also put on its position within the conception of lifelong learning. The thesis presents the development of the activity since its lunch in 2005 until now, describes its original direction to be followed at the beginning as well as the gradual changes that happened during its further implementation. The practical part defines the main internet tools offered by eTwinning to its users and describes those in detail. In the last part, three eTwinning projects are presented as good practice examples from the Czech Republic. The main aim of the diploma thesis is to present the European activity in as broad context as possible and from different points of view. All the data used are based on relevant literature and other sources.
