Old age and blindness

This bachelor's thesis, titled "Old Age and Blindness," is concerned with the gradual loss of eyesight in late adulthood. It provides an overview of the changes which take place in the later stages of an adult's life. Key areas of interest include the symptoms of and conditions associated with loss of eyesight, mobility, self-sufficiency, mental and emotional state, all of which are analysed in detail. The first section outlines and describes those aspects of everyday life which pose the biggest challenges in connection with the gradual loss of eyesight in seniors. Based on a number of international studies, this section provides a delimitation of those activities which may effect an individual's quality of life. The effect of leisure activities on an individual's mental and physical state is also evaluated. The second section of this thesis begins with a description of qualitative research methods, followed by a phenomenological interview with a selected senior whose eyesight is currently deteriorating. The interview focuses on how the current situation is experienced and perceived by the respondent. Diploma thesis focuses on effect of positive reinforcement and it's application in the learning process. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. Theoretical part describes importance of positive reinforcement in a learning process and behavior overall. How organisms acquire new skills and how effective teaching methods look like. Analytical part provides practical use of positive reinforcement in an effective teaching method called Discrete Trial Teaching. It's application, use, and correct implementation is provided through an example of teaching a motor imitation behavior. Inclusion of pupils with autistic spectrum disorder at elementary school

The thesis Inclusion of Pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder at Primary School focuses on the inclusion of pupils with autism spectrum disorders and on how to work with them at primary school. The first chapter of the theoretical part describes the inclusion and its legislative framework. This chapter shows an overview of the support and counselling system in school education. The following chapters are devoted to the description of autism, its types and diagnostics of pupils with autistic spectrum disorders. The final theoretical part pays attention to devoted to educational methods and strategies for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders. It describes how to communicate with such pupils and what didactic systems can be used when working with them. The empirical part of the thesis describes the development of application for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder and its verification for the android mobile platform. The author of this thesis has developed the application mentioned above. This chapter describes both the design and the technical development of the application. Public opinion on guide dogs across generation

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of guide dogs and their owners from in view of the general public across various generations through qualitative research. Theoretical part of the thesis introduces guide dog in world and Czech history, relevant legislative measures, fully describes course of dog training, and behavior of a guide dog in public. Practical part describes qualitative research, a questionnaire aimed at public in the Czech Republic. The survey examines public knowledge of legal measures about guide dogs, appropriate behavior towards a guide dog and its owner, and about guide dog's tasks. Research provides out look of the public 's knowledge and suggests targeted education for generations studied. The diploma thesis also brings method of educating respondents during data acquisition. Child with developmental language disorder integrated into mainstream elementary school

The diploma thesis deals the children with developmental language disorder, which are included in the regular type of school, and analysis of advantages and disadvantages resulting from this integration. The thesis includes a brief description of the development of a younger school age child, the possibilities of education in the Czech Republic and the complete terminological definition of developmental language disorder from etiology, diagnostics to therapies. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze the process of integration of pupils with developmental language disorder at the first stage of a basic elementary school and to find out the possibilities of their inclusive education. It may be an inspiration for pedagogues, speech therapists, parents, and caregivers of children with developmental language disorder. The thesis can be a starting point for further scientific work that deals with similar issues.
Student with developmental dysphasia and specific learning disabilities

The diploma thesis is focused on the problems and relationship of specific language impairment and learning disabilities, as developmental disorders affecting not only speech and language, but also other areas influencing the educational process and school success of pupils. The introductory chapters are devoted to the theoretical definition of individual disorders with a focus on their terminology, etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. Attention is also focused on the reciprocal context of specific language impairment and difficulties in reading, writing and orthography. The thesis is a comparative case study whose aim is to describe and compare the symptoms of the abovementioned disorders in a selected group of pupils of younger school age as reflected in basic school skills - reading and writing. The purpose of the thesis is to point out their interdependence and similarity in the field of education, but also certain specifics of each of the disorders depending on the individual peculiarities of each pupil.
Motivation of seniors to a healthy lifestyle in the environment of the selected region

The diploma thesis deals with a healthy lifestyle in the elderly. The main goal of the thesis is to determine the elderly's attitudes about physical activity and healthy eating. The results of the research show that the respondents are a very heterogeneous group and their attitudes towards healthy lifestyle are different. Respondents do not have bad habits due to uninformation, but probably because of lack of motivation. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and explorative one. There are four chapters in the theoretical part. First, the old age and ageing are described. According to the relevant literature there are summarized the changes that are associated with this life stage. Attention is focused on the quality of life and the perception of satisfaction in old age. The work is a summary of important documents that deal with the quality of life and deserve improvement. The thesis summarizes the important documents that deal with the quality of life and improve it. The main pillars of a healthy lifestyle for each age category are proper physical activity and nutritionally balanced diet. Examination of the visual perception in children with visual impairment through an assessment procedure, called In-Sight

This thesis focuses on the problematics of examination of visual perception in children with visual impairment. There are three parts to this thesis. The first part is dedicated to visual perception. It starts by describing the physiological development of eyesight and the examinations of it in childhood. It is followed by a description of visual functions and functional vision assessment. It also deals with individual parts of visual perception and the support of their development. The second part describes the In-Sight test in detail, including the instructions to its use. The third part introduces the research: the diagnostics of visual perception in children with sight impairment through In-Sight test. Its core method is a foreign standardised In-Sight test. This test is used to evaluate visual operations in children with visual impairment and to perform a screening of theirs higher visual abilities in relation to the process of education. The aim of this thesis is to describe the usefulness of this test in this target group. The research also attempted to find new ways to use the test.
