The rigorous thesis deals with competitive reporting in the current business enviroment and the area of public administration. It focuses on the importance of protecting information and information systems in organizations from fraud and loss of important information. Analyzes the causes and the reasons for the abuse of information. Proposes a methodology for ensuring protection of classified information in a competitive atmosphere organization. The work is based on the protection of information in legal standards. The aim of the work is to establish preventive measures against fraud and loss of important information and determine the causes and circumstances of crime in the are of work with the information. Methodology and issues of data transformation and its information value estimation during the integration of the heterogenous information sources PhDr. Ivan BARTOŠ Abstract This study focuses mainly on the data and information transformation issue. This topic is currently critical in several scientific and commercial areas. Information value, information quality and the quality of the source data differs between the various systems. This is not only due to the different topologies of the information sources but also because of its different understanding and a manner of storing the information describing the entity of the enterprise. Such information systems, respectively database systems in the scope of the thesis, could perform well as the stand alone systems. The issue appears in the moment when such heterogeneous systems are required to be integrated and the information shall be migrated between each other. The thesis is logically divided into four major parts based on these issues. The Role of Information and Communication in Organisations Diagnostic Tools of Information and Communication Processes The thesis has the objective to explore the interaction of the terms information and communication in organizational settings, and to identify their common characteristics and direct mutual influence. By introducing settings with open and closed communication climates, and diagnostic tools of communication and information audits, the author highlights the mutual overlap of these terms. The first part of the thesis provides an introduction into the theoretical terms information and communication as used in the historical context of their mother disciplines, identifies their similarities and differences, and, most importantly, highlights the long-term intense overlap of these terms at various levels. The second part goes on to introduce the basic forms of organizational structures affecting information transfer, i.e. direction, speed and accuracy of formal and informal information flows in organizational communication networks. Second chapter sets up a theoretical framework, summarizing research in the field of the information seeking and information seeking behavior, models of information seeking, information needs and their satisfaction. Third chapter describes higher education area and its role in information provision to the users (coming from both within and outside the area); all users within this area are classified and their information needs and sources for satisfaction of these needs are listed. The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis and assessment of the existing user interface of the departmental libraries of Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. The theoretical part generally characterizes the discipline of Human Computer Interaction. Furthermore, it characterizes concepts such as user interface, web usability and web accessibility and information architecture. Besides, it introduces the organisation, functions and services of the Central Library of the Faculty of Arts, including departmental libraries. The practical part explores and assesses current condition of the websites of the departmental libraries. The aim of this research is to determine users' satisfaction based on their experience with these library websites. Moreover, the research monitors the users' idea of an ideal website. A further concern is the usability, accessibility, content, design and information architecture of the websites researched. In accordance with the results of the research, a schema of a new human interface for the departmental libraries is designed.

The bachelor thesis "Technical norms and standards - their significance and search and search options in online systems" is focused on description and evaluation of the importance of technical norms and standards as a specific type of information sources. Also, it characterizes the situation and the technical standardization process in the Czech Republic and abroad, and compares selected retrieval systém of standards and norms. The work is divided into 5 parts. The first part contains the desription of the basic concepts explains, the use of standards, and their importance and defines types of standards. The second part outlines the technical standardization system in the Czech Republic, related organizations and legislation. The third part is focused on technical standardization in foreign countries, particularly on the selected standardization institutions. The fourth part deals with the classification of standards. The last part focuses on the comparison of two chosen (ČSN Online and ISO standards).

Problem of catalog objectives in digital environment: development and trends in building library catalogs from the bibliographic point of view PhDr. Barbora Drobíková Abstract The aim of the thesis is to explore current trends in building library catalogs from the bibliographic point of view. It focuses on formulation and exploration of trends in bibliography which may influence the library catalogs in near future. The introductory part defines several basic terms. It deals with the catalog objectives and methodological and technological questions in brief. Larger chapters describe the conceptual models FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD and studies which bring these models. These studies show a new view on objectives of bibliographic and authority records, therefore on library catalogs objectives too. This part is closed by an own analysis of these models, their comparison with the object-oriented model FRBRoo including a proposal of FRAD's and FRSAD's implementation into an object-oriented form.
