Possibilities of the development of preschool children in a asylum homes

This Diploma Thesis is designed as a case study based on qualitative research focusing on searching the options of support on pre-school children development in the environment of shelters for mothers or families with children. In the theoretical part starting points are presented regarding the issues of family, shelter, school maturity and readiness as well as an issue of constituent functions, possibilities of their diagnostics and development. The initial part of the empiric part describes methodological processes and a research plan is presented. Followed by research report regarding the study in twelve shelters in Prague. One of the research goals was to design a simple manual of development for children aged 3-6 which might have been used as a support for social workers in those shelters. The research tools included questionnaires and interviews among social workers. The questionnaires helped to map the size of shelters, length of stay and characteristic of their clients, approach of institutions to the development of pre-school and school age children as well as the attitudes of social workers towards such development of pre-school children. The Role of Teaching Assistant at Elementary School

This thesis concerns the cooperation between teacher and teaching assistant (TA) at mainstream elementary school, with the emphasis on perception of TA's presence at the first stage and the second stage of education. It is comprised of two sections. Theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the current concept definition of integrative and inclusive pedagogy, and coherent changes in recent years. The second one outlines the professional approach to TA, with emphasis on their usage at mainstream schools, including their employment abroad. The last chapter targets on mutual relationship of TA and other pedagogical staff, teachers and students themselves. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to mixed research which has two parts. The first one deals with the role of TA at mainstream elementary school focusing on his cooperation with teacher, in terms of a first-stage and second-stage class. For purpose of this part of study was chosen the qualitative research method with the usage of semi-structured in-depth interview. There were selected three respondents with required profiles. Role of the teacher assistant in inclusive education from the perspective of teacher at elementary school

The topic of the thesis is the role of the teacher's assistant in inclusive education from the perspective of a teacher at elementary school. The aim is to find out how teachers perceive the position of teacher's assistant in the education of pupils with special educational needs. The theoretic part deals with basic and inclusive education, including relevant legislation, support measures, defining the position of teacher's assistant, his / her competences, job description and possibilities of cooperation with the class teacher. The empirical part analyzes interviews with class teachers who teach a pupil with special educational needs and thanks to they can cooperate with teacher assistants. Everything is complemented with findings from the observation of the activities of the teacher's assistant in the given class. At the end of the thesis, research questions are answered and some suggestions are defined. The research shows that the teacher's assistant is a necessary support in the classroom especially for pupils with mental disabilities.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create an educational plan for a particular girl with moderate mental retardation, which is focused on the practice of self-service activities that could be applied in practice.
Support for reading and development of reading competencies of pupils with autistic spectrum disorder

This diploma thesis focuses on the support of reading and development of reading competences of pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The theoretical part first discusses individuals with autism spectrum disorder, characteristics of diagnosis and their education. The next section generally summarizies the concepts related to reading. It also looks at the role of the school, teacher and literary eduacation in the development and support of reading. It further discusses teaching methods, which develop reading comprehension. The last part focuces specifically on the reading skills of children with ASD. The part concludes with deficits in reading for meaning and reading comprehension interventions. The aim of this thesis was to find out how teachers develop reading skills for pupils with ASD in primary school. The data was obtained from structured interviews with teachers working with pupils with ASD. The research questions were focused on the level of support for reading by teachers, the specifics of working with pupils with ASD and the use of texts related to student's interests and experiences. This bachelor thesis deals with the role of a teaching assistant in promoting inclusive education of children with autistic spectrum disorders, and mental disabilities in pre-primary education. The main goal of it, is to find out and describe the experiences that teachers and teaching assistants have in a selected kindergarten, with the joint education of children that are on the autistic spectrum or the ones with mental disabilities. An equally important part of the work are the opinions the teachers have on the benefits of the subject. The theoretical part describes mental disability, autistic spectrum disorders and the role of a teacher assistant in Czech education. It describes specifics of educating children with autistic spectrum disorders and mental disability in common kindergarten. Besides that, the thesis deals with the inclusive education in its current form, both in Czech educational system and on the global scale. The master thesis is focused on the prevention of addictions in the education of pupils with social disadvantage. The theoretical part deals with the period of adolescence and describes its biological and psycho - social aspects. The attention is focused mainly on pupils with the need for support in education due to social disadvantage. The thesis defines this term, deals with individual manifestations of social disadvantage and supports these pupils. The following part is dedicated to the topic of addiction and risks of development of addiction in adolescents. Thetheoretical part also describes specific risks of substance and non-substance dependencies. The last chapter introduces the theme of prevention in school and preventive program. The practical part consists of there search were three elementary schools in Prague participated. The thesis describes them and analysis their preventive programs.
