Program supporting measuring of buildings
Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
News Topics Tracking
Bílek, Karel ; Bojar, Ondřej (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
In this thesis, I try to find a definition of a news topic to make topic detec- tion implementable and its quality measurable. I describe various methods - a "simple" words counting, optionally with stopwords. I also describe TF-IDF and the text categorization problem. I touch the subject of text clustering. Then I briefly describe approaches called latent semantic indexing and la- tent Dirichlet allocation. The thesis includes my experiments with "simple" words counting, TF-IDF and text categorization on database of articles from several online news websites; I also describe the creation of this database. Precision and recall are used as a metric to text categorization approach. 1
Harmonic pitch shifting
Cihelková, Tereza ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pergel, Martin (referee)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of audio effect for pitch shifting of monophonic singing signals. The effect can generate two pitch shifted voices from input signal in real-time, while preserving formants. Amount of the shift can be controlled via MIDI controller. The effect is implemented as VST module in the form of dynamic-link library. This work also includes theoretical introduction to related DSP techniques.
Evolutionary development of robotic organisms
Leibl, Marek ; Mráz, František (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
This work introduces a system for an evolutionary design of virtual organisms capable of effective movement in a simulated environment. The morphology and the control system are simultaneously developed by an evolutionary algorithms. The system also allows to design organisms in an editor and evolution of the control system with an immutable morphology. The quality evaluation and viewing of evolved organisms is done in a simulated 3D physical environment. The work put stress on the optimization of time and computing complexity of the evolutionary process. This optimization is achieved by using symmetry of organisms and their movement with HyperNEAT-generative encoding of synaptic values. Further optimization is achieved by limiting the variety of mutual module connections and focusing on the harmonic movement of organisms.
Artificial neural networks and their application for 3D-data processing
Pihera, Josef ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
Neural networks represent a powerful means capable of processing various multi-media data. Two applications of artificial neural networks to 3D surface models are examined in this thesis - detection of significant features in 3D data and model classification. The theoretical review of existing self-organizing neural networks is presented and followed by description of feed-forward neural networks and convolutional neural networks (CNN). A novel modification of existing model - N-dimensional convolutional neural networks (ND- CNN) - is introduced. The proposed ND-CNN model is enhanced by an existing technique for enforced knowledge representation. The developed theoretical methods are assessed on supporting experiments with scanned 3D face models. The first experiment focuses on automatic detection of significant facial features while the second experiment performs classification of the models by their gender using the CNN and ND-CNN.
Creating web startup and introducing the Lean development
Hejl, Tomáš ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Zavoral, Filip (referee)
This work describes The Lean Development methodology that can be used for managing development without known customer. Moreover, it describes the development of an already finished project - a web application that did not involve this methodology. After that this work finds out which aspects of this development would change, if the Lean Development methods were integrated, and proposes a specific solution for subsequent development, compliant with this methodology. At the end, this work presents the list of activities that the development team must pass when developing without known customer.
RoboRally
Královec, Jiří ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bednárek, David (referee)
Title: RoboRally Author: Jiří Královec Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: RNDr. Tomáš Holan, Ph.D., Department of Software and Computer Science Education Abstract: This work deals with the implementation of computer version of the board game RoboRally. The computer program which was created enables game for one or more players on one computer. Computer driven players can also be added into a game. Because of creating the artificial intelligence for driving computer players, two different engines (computer players) were created. In addition another program was created for searching adequate setting of the parameters of the engines. The program conducts the search using the technique called genetic algorithms. Using created tools, good enough settings were found to make created engines equivalent opponents for human players. Keywords: RoboRally, board game, artificial intelligence, genetic algorithms
Electronic reading-room
Korcsok, Peter ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Horký, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Electronic reading-room Author: Peter Korcsok Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: RNDr. Tomáš Holan, Ph.D. Abstract: We have created an Internet application that allows registered users to share information about scientific articles. Data necessary for standard bibli- ographic record are stored for each article; any files with the text of the article in PDF or PostScript format are saved directly on the server. Articles can be sorted into categories arranged in a treelike structure. Users may rate the artic- les using marks and commentaries and discuss them. The application provides a comfortable search in stored articles; user is able to save the search parameters for future use. Addition of new article can be done using a web form or by sending an e-mail message containing all necessary data in the correct format to address of the application. Some users are selected as administrators who manage ac- counts, categories and other application settings. The work is designed in PHP and uses MySQL database. Keywords: articles, web, database
Farming robot R4Farmer
Hurt, Tomáš ; Pergel, Martin (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to propose a robotic farmer emulator. After designing this toolkit, we focus on algorithms solving particular problems related to the use of such a robot. Mainly we attach the question of a route planning during the field processing (while ploughing, seeding and irrigating). The project should help with a design of a real robot which is being designed separately by other colleagues. It should help with the study of feasibility and eliminate particular risks of economic loss (caused by move of a real robot on a field - or outside of it).
Sector 66 - A Modular Board Game
Brenner, Matyáš ; Ježek, Pavel (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a board game Sector 66, which is based on the rules of Quoridor game designed by Gigamic company. Sector 66 is a game for two to four players with a 3D representation of the scene. It is possible to play it over a network or against the computer. It also offers expandability by plug-ins with fields of game plan and spells. It is possible to start the game based on prepared template, which can modify game rules in a certain way.
