Legal aspects of software interoperability
Myslivec, David ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
This thesis addresses the legal aspects of software interoperability. Interoperability of software is achieved through an interface that is part of a computer program. The computer program is protected by copyright. The thesis deals with the scope of interface protection and the possibilities of access to unprotected interfaces. It measures the interests of the author in protecting the work against the public interests and proposes solutions that would be able to ensure a greater degree of interoperability or sharing the information necessary to ensure it.
Restitution under the Act on Land and transferability of substitutional plots in theory and judicial practice
Barejška, Tomáš ; Elischer, David (advisor) ; Zvára, Michael (referee)
Restitution according to the Land Act is a legal-economic process leading to returning the previously confiscated land to the entitled persons. In case the return is not possible, this Act sets the procedure for obtaining compensation for the land not returned accordingly. The restitution process is the result of a society-wide effort to alleviate certain historical grievances of the previous regime. The Thesis provides a comprehensive description and analysis of the development of the institute of nationalisation (expropriation) from the after-White Mountain period until the end of the communist regime in 1989. The reasons leading to expropriation are explained in the Thesis, as well as the impacts of expropriation and subsequent social and legal reaction to the changes that occurred. Within the period after 1989, the development of the restitution process, its individual phases and the state's overall approach to the issue are analysed and subjected to criticism. It is examined what effects the implementation of specific measures has had up to now and whether systemic or only parametric changes of the entire process continue to occur. In the practical part of the work, the focus is on the transferability of replacement land as an attribute of immovable property, which is scrutinized by the...
The Gabriel-Roiter measure in representation theory
Krasula, Dominik ; Šťovíček, Jan (advisor)
The Gabriel-Roiter measure is a module-theoretic invariant, defined in 1972 by P. Gabriel. It is an order-preserving function that refines a composition length of a module by also taking lengths of indecomposable submodules into account. We calculate all Gabriel-Roiter measures for finite-length representa- tions of an orientation of a Dynkin graph D4 and an orientation of a Euclidean graph ˜A3. In 2007, H. Krause proposed a combinatorial definition of the Gabriel-Roiter measure based on other length functions instead of composition length. We study these alternative Gabriel-Roiter measures on thin representations of quiv- ers whose underlying graph is a tree. 1
Legal aspects of agroforestry systems
Hruška, Marek ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
Legal Aspects of Agroforestry Systems Abstract The thesis is devoted to a thorough analysis of the legal aspects of agroforestry systems in the context of Czech law. However, attention is paid not only to the Czech law, but also to the European Union regulations, which partly regulate the issue of agroforestry as one of the sustainable approaches to agriculture. The aim of the thesis is to acquaint with the legal aspects of agroforestry, their selected typified agroforestry systems as well as individual woody elements that make up agroforestry systems. Space is devoted to both private law issues and, in particular, public law issues supplemented by relevant case law. Given the specific nature of agroforestry, this thesis is permeated by a wide range of legal disciplines, among which environmental law dominates, complemented by the aforementioned European law, civil law, tax law, administrative law and constitutional law. The objective is also to offer relevant de lege ferenda considerations with regard to the specific nature of agroforestry. Part of the rigorous thesis is an international legal comparison especially in relation to the legislation of the Federal Republic of Germany due to the proximity of its legal culture, landscape and climate. The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first one is...
Evaluation of oxidation of nutritional substrates during pregnancy.
Huličiarová, Klaudia ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Kovařík, Miroslav (referee)
Background The aim of this diploma thesis was to determine and evaluate changes in resting energy expenditure and oxidation of nutritional substrates, then to assess connections with other parameters and to compare these results with other conducted studies. Methods Indirect calorimetry was used to determine resting energy expenditure and oxidation of nutritional substrates. Measurements of pregnant women took place after a 12-hour fast in three periods of pregnancy. The first period between 17.-27. week of pregnancy, the second between 28.-35. weeks of pregnancy and the last during the 36th-38th week of pregnancy. Results The results of the work point to significantly increasing values of respiratory quotients (p = 0.022) and carbohydrate oxidation (p = 0.015) with the length of pregnancy, and to statistically significant correlations between the oxidation of nutritional substrates and the values of RQ, NPRQ, the volume of excreted urine, the amount of creatinine, urea and nitrogen in the excreted urine. Conclusions In this work, an increase in respiratory quotient values and carbohydrate oxidation during pregnancy was confirmed. However, the suspension of the study due to the Covid situation caused a decrease in the number of pregnant women followed and the necessary results. Key words:...
Legal Aspects of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT)
Konečný, Jaroslav ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the individual legal aspects of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) phenomenon in terms of current and upcoming legislation. The diploma thesis documents the technological aspects of this phenomenon and its legal specifics and then identifies and interprets the application of legal frameworks that currently affect its use. These include the legal qualification of NFT, aspects of consumer protection and aspects of copyright law. The text of the diploma thesis contains a theoretical assessment to the extent necessary for the purposes of further analysis of the phenomenon.
The disability and the disability pension
Galetková, Markéta ; Lang, Roman (referee)
Disability and Invalidity Pension Abstract The theme of disability is a sensitive topic in society, as it represents an undesirable social event affecting an individual's work capacity and consequently having an adverse impact on their financial security. The invalidity pension serves as a benefit designed to compensate for this negative consequence to some extent. This work deals with the issue of disability, particularly the invalidity pension, organized into 9 chapters. The introductory chapter provides a brief historical overview of disability, followed by a discussion of the historical legal conditions for granting an invalidity pension in the Czech Republic. It then delves into international interventions through treaties and the membership of international organizations, of which the Czech Republic is a signatory. This chapter mentions international organizations, including the most significant international treaties addressing this issue, to which the Czech Republic is bound. Given that the Czech Republic is a member of the European Union, and its the legal regulations significantly influence the national legal framework of the Czech Republic, this aspect is incorporated into the work. The following chapter interprets the national legal regulations on disability and outlines the conditions for...
System of audit procedures towards beneficiaries of subsidies under the budgetary rules
Dudák, Jan ; Boháč, Radim (advisor) ; Večeř, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis deals with the legal regulation of the procedure of providing subsidies from the state budget to beneficiaries of subsidies according to the so-called major budget rules and the system of audit of compliance with the obligations of these beneficiaries. It also deals with judicial case law, which often helps to clarify unclear or gaping legal regulations, as well as controversies that have not yet been resolved. In this respect, it also points out the potentially non-optimal solutions chosen in the legislation and the weaknesses in the current practice of the public administration internal regulations, which are not able to compensate for the missing or legislatively incomplete statutory law. Within the analysis, this thesis focuses not only on a transparent and fair process of selecting applications for subsidies, but also on the conceptual setting up of a system of audits on the disposal of subsidies by their beneficiaries. It therefore also addresses the interrelation of the individual audit bodies and the degree of interdependence of their procedures in auditing beneficiaries of subsidies, including sanctioning the beneficiaries for non-compliance detected by the audit and recovering the subsidy or part of it back to the state budget. In a number of individual aspects, which are,...
The influence of belinostat inhibition on the activity of selected reductases from AKR and SDR superfamilies.
Slámová, Adéla ; Wsól, Vladimír (advisor) ; Macháček, Miloslav (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Bc. Adéla Slámová Supervisor: prof. Ing. Vladimír Wsól, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The influence of belinostat inhibition on the activity of selected reductases from AKR and SDR superfamilies Anthracycline antibiotics (ANTs) are important antineoplastic agents. One of them, daunorubicin (DAUN), is used for the treatment of acute leukaemia and other malignancies in children and adults. Factors limiting its clinical use include mainly resistance and cardiotoxicity. Enzymes from aldo-keto reductase (AKR) and short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) superfamilies mediated the reduction of DAUN to its C-13 alcohol metabolite daunorubicinol (DAUNOL). The metabolite is more cardiotoxic, less antineoplastic, and is causing anthracycline resistance. This diploma thesis aimed to examine the inhibitory effect of belinostat on the activity of AKR1A1, 1B1, 1B10, 1C3, and CBR1. The specific enzyme activity and inhibitory potential were estimated in vitro using recombinant enzymes, and the enzymatic production of DAUNOL was evaluated by the liquid chromatography (UHPLC) system. The inhibition was decreased in order AKR1C3  AKR1B10  AKR1A1  AKR1B1  CBR1. The most inhibited enzyme, AKR1C3, expressed 50,7%...
Weimar Republic as a lesson for Czech liberal democracy
Perušič, Ondřej ; Kysela, Jan (advisor) ; Reschová, Jana (referee)
Weimar Republic as a lesson for Czech liberal democracy Abstract This rigorous thesis is based on two basic premises. The first is that history should be a source of valuable knowledge and lessons. The second is that the ability to analyse past mistakes and learn from them is essential for the survival of modern liberal democracy. The Weimar Republic is a classic example of a type of modern liberal democracy that was burdened throughout its existence with many problems that eventually led to its downfall. This thesis aims first to subject the Weimar Republic to a thorough analysis, and then to extract from this analysis transferable lessons for the present. Particular attention is paid to Czech liberal democracy, to which the insights gained from the analysis of the Weimar Republic are transferred and subsequently examined. The analysis builds on several pillars. The first and most important is the Weimar Constitution and the constitutional system of the then German Empire. In particular, attention is paid to the problematic relationship between the executive and the legislature, the electoral system, and the imbalance of powers under emergency legislation. However, the shortcomings of the constitutional framework alone cannot reliably explain the collapse of a system as complex as the Weimar Republic....
